lads i just found out about 'monkee business the musical' yesterday morning after just waking up. out there SOMEWHERE must exist a full recording. surely. if we work together we can find it
on wikipedia straight up "learning it". and by "learning it" i mean, lets just say.. information
Mike Nesmith: Had an affair, regrets it immediately, spends time trying to fix it before moving on to save heartache, goes on a personal growth journey for years, tells the story honestly, keeps in contact with her the rest of her love and never stopped loving her even after moving on. Literally only thing he’s ever done and did everything to make up for it he could. Loved by most people who knew him.
People: Oh he’s so evil, rot in hell, such an evil man.😡
Peter Tork: Beat his wife over some dishes, went to prison for five years, treated women like objects and prizes, thought his way was the only way and told everyone else to jump in a lake, was fired by Micky and Davy from a tour because he was terrible to be around, and said the most uncalled for and horrid shit about anyone he possibly could whenever he wanted because he pretty much didn’t care about anyone else that wasn’t like him. Disliked by most people who knew him.
People: Aw Peter, sweet baby, never done anything wrong in his life, little angel.🥰
I gotta laugh whenever people say it’s sweet Mike that went to hell.🤣We all know who’s actually down there.
I don't feel like adding this onto someone else's post, but:
Sometimes I think about how Freddie actually did use the band for Mr. Bad Guy, but just hired other musicians to sound like them for the final cut of those songs, and this upset Brian for decades, if a post on his old Soapbox blog is anything to go by
Chappell Roan really was like "I won't endorse Harris because of the continuing genocide and the fact that the Democrats aren't protecting trans people. I am voting for Harris but won't endorse. You should expect more from your politicians and that's what I want before I endorse anyone" and got absolutely insane amounts of hatred and vitriol for that not only normal, but morally righteous take. And then because of aforementioned insane amounts of hate had to cancel shows due to mental health and then got MORE HATE. Like wow! Starting to think you don't want principled and authentic celebrities, don't care about women's feelings, and don't understand how mental illness affects people! It will entirely be entitled fans fault if she steps back forever from releasing music
I literally would not care if paul was slapping the other Beatles across the face on the reg he did what he had to do in order to get the band to be better
Chappell Roan not playing about her boundaries and personal safety and putting her foot down and yelling "shut the fuck up" at rude paparazzi during the VMAs red carpet is healing something in me truly. That is a lesbian woman refusing to act all grateful and bashful at being allowed space, she is owning the space for which she has worked over a decade and assertively setting her boundaries and giving zero fucks about whose ego she bruises on the way because only people who take advantage of you take offense when you set boundaries and I am enjoying every second of it
The very moment that made me decide I loved this man. Incredibly underrated moment in my honest opinion. I could listen to this all day.
