my hc’s for Bruce and his kids’ religions:
Bruce: raised Jewish and participates in Judaism practices but dosent know if he actually believes in it. (Probably does it because his parents did and he misses them)
Dick: his mother was Christian and his father just kinda went along with it. He used to go to church on Christmas and Easter but hasn’t been in years (since his mom died)
Jason: Catholic. His faith was kinda disrupted after he came back to life. I think after awhile he felt comfortable in his religion agin tho.
Cass: an atheist. She wasn’t raised to believe in a god. However I think she likes to participate in all of the traditions her family members practice.
Tim: was ‘raised’ catholic but later realized he was an atheist
Duke: He’s a Christian, not like a hardcore go to church Christian more of a, yeah I believe in god 🤷 not really a big deal
Damian: he’s Muslim and participates in its practices :3
Alfred: he’s an atheist.
What if Janet went into Labor with Tim during a Wayne gala and Bruce helped deliver him, but Bruce didn’t realize Tim was the same baby
Until a random stakeout/confrontation with a villain/league meeting, he remembers suddenly and just straight up goes
“I birthed you”
He then starts to think back to all the other women he helped and like...
– Teenage Bruce stopping in the middle of his day to help Mary Grayson call the hospital when her water breaks in public
– His first test of people skills as Batman is looking after Sandra Wu-San, not knowing she'd become Lady Shiva
– A short while later Batman does the same for Sheila Haywood because Willis didn't bother to show up
– Arthur Brown being too absorbed in his scandals and early scheming to be present so Batman swoops in for Crystal
– Then Janet Drake going into labor at a Wayne gala and Bruce helping her through that
– Couple years later, Batman keeping Elaine Thomas company in the twilight hours
– He stops to help Talia amidst a dangerous battle, not knowing the baby is his and her maintaining the secret
– He gets sidetracked on a time travel mission and assists a stranger, not realizing it's Mary Pennyworth
my current hyperfixation — a post-crisis nightwing ongoing in the same verse as persephone, where the new52 never happened and dick moves to new york after bruce is rescued from the time stream in batman and robin 2009. aka dick fights cops and reconciles with the important people in his life, free from the shadow of the bat
Everyone says Technoblade would be a child of Ares in the PJO and HoO books, but no. I say Demeter, the Goddess of agriculture. (I'm going to put this all below a cut because I'm really enthusiastic about mythology and will be writing a lot and I know not everyone will want to have to scroll past a large block of text.)
Firstly, Demeter riots when her daughter is kidnapped, straight up almost killing all of humanity by not letting crops grow and starving them until she got Persephone back. She is the cause of winter happening out of pure defiance against the king of the Gods because he is not bothered to rescue her daughter.
Less commonly know is her connections to the underworld. In early Mycenaean myths Hades did not exist and instead there were three main underworld gods. Poseidon, Persephone and Demeter. Demeter was, in the earliest of the myths, a goddess of the underworld. Of course in the myths we all know know she isn't, but that version still exists, and I feel like it should at least be considered. If you want a better explanation I would suggest Overly Sarcastic Productions' video on Persephone and Hades but to summarise it, Demeter and Persephone might have been two spooky eldritch goddesses before Greek speaking immigrants moved to the region and Poseidon fathered Persephone who was a horse while both he and Demeter were horses.
Demeter, as said multiple times now, is the mother of Persephone. Persephone whose name means 'bringer of destruction'. Persephone whose name was never said aloud as the greeks feared her wrath just as, if not more, than her husband's, whose name was also never spoken aloud. (I'm going to go off topic for a second here but Hades may not even be called Hades, and that might be the name of the underworld, showing just how feared he was if they were scared to even speak his name, scared of summoning his presence and causing death within the household. If that is how feared Hades was, imagine how feared Persephone must have been.) Persephone who killed a nymph (Minthe) because she said Hades was her lover and that she was better than Persephone, turned her into a plant (mint) and uses that flower as her own symbol. If Demeter can birth this well-feared goddess, then who is to say she couldn't birth an anarchist with a thirst for blood.
All in all, Demeter is, in my eyes, the best fit for the godly parent of Technoblade. She is loyal, vengeful, a goddess of harvest and has no mercy for those who have wronged her, as well as possibly having been a goddess of the underworld at some point and being the mother of one of the most feared gods during the era of Ancient Greece. If you think I'm wrong, about the myths or who his godly parent would be, please do disagree with me and tell me why I'm wrong, I would love to know why and what your opinions are! (/sincere)
YALL i’m fixated on rottmnt i wanted to draw them and accidentally yassifed them
Leo’s my favorite i’m prolly gonna redo Donnie and Ralph lol
I dunno why i decided yellow the unifying color lol
AND I FIRGOT APRIL
Something I noticed is that Bruce isn’t really that sympathetic to his villains unless that are family or have been romantically involved with him
Selina is stolen so much stuff with no regard for who it is half the time but she has gotten a pass over and over
Jason and Talia have murdered a lot of people but they get a pass because Jason is one of Bruce’s kids and Talia is Damian’s mom
But when it comes to everyone else it usually radio silence
But on the other hand you have Batman the animated series where Bruce tries his best and is super understanding and compassionate with everyone, including his rouges
I’m not criticizing any specific character this is just an observation about how Bruce is usually written but there are exceptions, of course
so i might be making my own version of the turtles
“people in gotham would know batman is real” “he can’t be an urban legend cause he’d be caught on camera” “people could just ask someone in gotham if they’ve seen him” have u considered that gothamites enjoy lying.
By pure chance, Danny and Damian look almost identical. After some misunderstandings/attempted stabbing at first sight they become friends, and eventually start dating. They’ve only been official for a week when the Bats finally find out about Danny.
How?
Timothy Drake-Wayne has seen some weird shit. Monsters, gods, and Dick’s dating history rarely make the top ten. The scene he sees now might warrant a whole new list.
Demon Brat is sitting on a bench in the park. What makes this ordinary scene baffling is the other boy, a boy who’s laying down with his head in Damian’s lap and not getting skewered for it. In fact, the brat looks…happy. Peaceful even. It’s kind of cute, actually.
Until the other boy turns his head to say something. Damian is giving the boy his full attention, and so is Tim because they have the same face.
…
Tim races back to the manor, slamming the front door open in a ‘MOM HOLY FUCK’ fashion, and yells for a family meeting.
Fucking hell, of course Damian is so arrogant that he’d only date his own evil clone.
the misinterpretation of a lonely place of dying by later retellings drives me nuts because ‘tim finds out who batman is’ is nearly not as much of a big deal as ‘tim doesnt want to be robin’ in the actual origin and it pretty much sums up whats wrong with modern tim drake. ALPOD is a tragic story of a twelve year old boy who had everything and willingly gave it up for a greater good. he is not like dick and jason who became robin to escape tragedy nor bruce who had everything and then lost it. robin was nothing but a curse he accepted to bear and he did so because of his selflessness. that selflessness is his driving rod, his smarts and physical talent are only the tools he uses to achieve his goals. he is not ‘the smart one’, he is a sacrificial lamb for a cause he became an unwilling spectator of. a twelve year old boy thought ‘people need saving, its that simple’ and put on the clothes a dying kid not much older than him wore because of nothing more than his selflessness and everyone he loved paid the price for it. he paid an even greater price for it.
