this is fine
Still on my TOH brainrot and thinking about how Phillip basically made his own problems.
• His brother’s death (that caused him grief as seen when he was forced to revisit the memory) happened in the first place because he couldn’t accept that his brother loved a witch.
• Hunter offered to help with the curse but Phillip hated wild magic too much to consider it. He made Hunter turn away from him because of all the abuse he dealt.
• Luz was happy to assist him in finding The Collector and learning magic when she traveled to the past but Phillip ruined it after he tried to get Lillith killed. This led to a broken nose that would later mutate into the green gash that makes up a good portion of his face.
• The situation when the people Phillip hired assaulted him and threw his diary around only happened because he purposely got one of them killed and didn’t fulfill his promise of paying them.
• The Collector crushed Phillip into a pile of viscera because he refused to free them. They only expressed a desire to play with him before the betrayal.
It’s such a simple fact of kindness being rewarded with kindness and hatred getting thrown back at people who hate, but it makes me go wild. Luz befriended people regardless of how rude they were in the beginning because of her unwavering kindness and love of exploring new things. Phillip wanted to be an asshole first because he expected everyone else to act the same.
He’s so pathetic like a wet kitten left in a cardboard box except he sprayed water on the cardboard to get it wet and then sat in it.
antis when proshippers show basic respect: they’re clearly grooming you!!
the sleepy people
i don't care how uncomfortable you are around cis men, queer cis men still need places to go, and sometimes, those spaces will be shared with yours. disabled and neurodivergent queer men and queer men of color especially need a place to go. the queer community isn't the "fuck cis men" community. that is the rad fem community. if you think cis men and people who read as cis men are inherently "too scary" or shouldn't be allowed in queer spaces, you joined the wrong community.

made this scene a gif because i cant stop thinking about the way ann snuggles up under her curls w that dopey little smile and im making it everyones problem
the fact that people in australia are now willingly submitting themselves to government censorship over books because some book was a little gross to them is INSANE!!!
sure, that “daddy’s little toy” book was probably something i would never read and its okay to not like it, it’s okay to be disgusted by it. it was a little odd that a book like that was dedicated to her real child, i’ll admit that!! that was strange!! but to sit by and say it’s okay for the author to be arrested for something completely fictional and not even actually published yet and let it be LABELLED AS CSAM is one of the worst things i’ve heard in regards to books lately.
if fiction like that can be labeled as csam, the government there (and probably the governments of other countries that want to imitate it) now knows they can label any book or other fiction as ABUSE MATERIAL and arrest the authors and stop its distribution. and you know who that is going to attack? authors that made queer fiction with minor characters in it. or maybe even adult characters, since the people in DLT were both adults when they actually got together according to what i’ve heard.
of course, once that happens they’re going to start crying and whining about how that’s “not the kind of censorship they meant” and play victim, but it’s entirely their fault for celebrating and making it clear they are on the side of author suppression ! i even saw a tiktok comment say “reminder that censorship isn’t actually bad” and i was about ready to start tweaking.
another consequence of this is also going to inconvenience the government as well! i can predict child abuse tip lines are going to be filled with reports of books and fanfiction instead of actual abuse, and it’s going to be “justified” because one book was labeled csam.
censorship hurts everyone.
only real children can be abused.
words on a page cannot be abused or mistreated.
So some people liked the Harpy Hunter and Fairy Willow AU idea so here is more !!! Thank youuuu
1. You are responsible for your own media experience.
2. There is such a thing as a healthy level of avoidance towards topics that make you feel unwell or even (in a real-life clinical definition of the term) trigger you - but you are the one to actively take care of what you view.
3. Avoiding does not mean policing others.
4. You have no right to tell artists to censor themselves - you may criticize what others do, you may dislike it, that’s fine - but actively asking for censorship when you could easily unfollow or block a person just makes you look incompetent in your use of the internet.
5. Do not give people on tumblr or /any/ website the responsibility for your emotional well-being. Because these people do not even know you so no, you have no right to ask them to take care of you.
