Instagram Store Indian Javan Rhinoceros Working On This One Was Very Nice. My Reference Was An Old And

Instagram Store Indian Javan Rhinoceros Working on this one was very nice. My reference was an old and pixelated black and white photography so I had to figure out textures and colors. Working on these animals awoke my curiosity about them. Am I ever going to see one? What would it be the sensation of it? the feeling of the air around, the smell, its movements. How would I feel around him? I probably would never know because I am almost sure I will never see a Javan Rhinoceros but drawing them somehow pulls me closer to them. I really hope this animal survives extinction, it will be a great defeat to humanity. ____________________________ This animal never did well in zoos and hasn't been in one in more than a century. The oldest one lived to be 20 years while in the wild they can live up to 40 years old. There are registers of 22 Javan Rhinos in zoos but there were probably more because it was commonly confused with the Indian Rhino. The last Javan Rhino in a zoo was in Adelaide, Australia in 1907 and was thought to be an Indian rhino. This subspecies is extinct.

Lesser Mouse Deer

Lesser Mouse Deer

Not much is known about this species. It seems to be an apparent lack of interest to study this family which to me is hard to explain if we count that are the smallest hoofed animals in the world and hasn’t changed much in millions of years. This shows a form of adaptability that is remarkable and that I believe deserves to be studied.

Because very little is known about this animal in general, is hard to assess a truthful census. It’s known to be widely spread in Southeast Asia and is often part of the menu of villagers or even taken as a pet. (Please don’t have one. Let’s leave wild things wild)

For The Past Two Years, I've Been Illustrating Every Mammal On Our Planet. I've Completed Over 200 Animals

For the past two years, I've been illustrating every mammal on our planet. I've completed over 200 animals and now plan to create a book. In the book, I researched interesting facts about each animal, (Where they live, conservation status, evolutive paths, curiosities, etc). To fund this project, I've established a monthly club offering various ways for people to support my work. One option is receiving monthly book updates in PDF format. This month's feature, for example, is the White Rhinoceros, and the book uniquely covers its subspecies, setting it apart from others. There are more things than the book updates (There are actually a lot of things). If you feel that this speaks to you check out the club options by clicking here Giving a like and sharing this post is also very helpful. Thanks all for the attention and see you soon.

Now It’s The Turn For The Tayassuidae Family, Better Known As The Peccaries. Closer Relatives Of The

Now it’s the turn for the Tayassuidae family, better known as the Peccaries. Closer relatives of the Suidae family (pig) they still belong to a different family. Probably the biggest difference is that all this family inhabit the new continent: America. Let’s begin...

Collared peccary, javelina, saíno, báquiro, musk hog, quenk Collared peccaries are diurnal animals that can live in groups up to 50 individuals. However is ben proved that some animals living in the central Arizona are nocturnal. Usually ignore humans, can attack if feels threatened. As an alarm, can give a sharp bark.

Meet the cacomistle, a nocturnal acrobat of the forests! 🌙🌿 This elusive little mammal is a cousin of raccoons, sporting big curious eyes and a striped tail that would make a fashion model jealous. It can climb like a pro and twist its ankles 180 degrees to scamper down trees headfirst—because why take the normal route? 🤸‍♂️

North-Eastern Black Rhinoceros. This Subspecies Is Not Hundred Percent Approved By All Scientists. Some

North-Eastern Black Rhinoceros. This subspecies is not hundred percent approved by all scientists. Some state that there are four subspecies. The most widely alternative schemes adopted five subspecies, while older ones suggest eight. At some point, it was thought to be 23. This subspecies is extinct. Its distribution consisted of Sudan, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Djibouti, and Somalia, which apparently vanished by the early 20th century.

White Lipped Peccary
White Lipped Peccary

White Lipped Peccary

This peccary has five different subspecies. Oddly, I could not find it’s common names. Just the latin ones. Very little information about each of them and more as a general information of the species.

The two main threats to their survival are deforestation and hunting. Natural predators include the jaguar and puma and of course, us. They can be very aggressive when cornered and maintain contact with the herd by making a low moaning sound.

The herds can be immense with up to two hundred individuals, which can be beneficial to avoid attacks from predators, specially the jaguar.

Tayassu pecari pecari: Can be found in Colombia (west), Venezuela, Guayanas y Brasil (north of the Amazon river).

Tayassu pecari aequatore: Colombia (south east) and Ecuador.

Tayassu pecari albirostre: Brasil (South of the Amazon), Peru, Bolivia, Paraguay and north of Argentina.

Tayassu pecari spiradens: From the north of Colombia to Costa Rica.

Tayassu pecari ringens: From Nicaragua to the south of México.

I Really Enjoyed Working On This One¡ It Came Up Smoothly And Accurately. I Spent More Hours Than Average

I really enjoyed working on this one¡ It came up smoothly and accurately. I spent more hours than average thought but I feel it paid off. Malayan Tiger This is the last population of this subspecies (The mainland Asian one). It's a medium size tiger that is critically endangered. They used to be abundant in Singapore in 1830 when the country was basically a dense jungle. However, the expansion of plantations along the island made attacks on humans by tigers quite common, so tiger hunting became a sport. Tiger attacks were reported almost daily in the late 1840s, and local authorities organized bounties decreasing the tiger population significantly. The last tiger was shot in 1932. Today, some books estimate their numbers as less than 400 while others are less optimistic and estimate less than 150. __________________________________________ Credits: Felids and Hyenas of the World: Wildcats, Panthers, Lynx, Pumas, Ocelots, Caracals, and Relatives.  Dr. José R.
