Here we have someone who hates the marauders (despises James Potter, finds Remus and Peter insignificant) and yet they still seek out marauders fanfiction (and they're still pretty aggravated to find out how much they still despise the premise.
My guy (gn), "just write your own" always applies, like many other said before me the tag system in ao3 works perfectly fine and if you're not willing to put up with inaccuracies on characters that are given two (2) lines in the terf books, don't seek out those stories.
This person is mad that the 'teenage y/n fanfic' is teenage-y/n-ing.
I've been in your blog for a hot minute trying to understand your points and right where I'm starting to get you, I lose you again. Your issue with the "OC fandom characters of Harry Potter" as you'd like to refer to them exists mostly because you'd like to find a documentary in ao3, canon aligned with that terfs books, only to be met with silly, widely fanon- accepted and (if I may) very well written characters. If you'd like a documentary like that, why don't you write it instead of yucking someone else's yum? I don't want to think the worst of your blog just yet but, could you may be one of those people who joined fandom spaces in 2020 without ever understanding fandom culture?
I’m 29 and I’ve been in the fandom since around 2007/2008. I’ve probably read more fics than you, and I probably knew the lore before you even started reading. So I really don’t know what you’re talking about.
My issue with the fandom now is that it’s basically trashed the canon. And no, I’m not asking for a documentary, what I want is that if I look for a fic about Sirius Black, the character I’m reading about actually resembles the Sirius Black from the books, not some watered-down teenage wannabe version inspired by a character from Euphoria.
I also expect that if I’m reading about secondary characters, people at least respect the little we do know about them, or are consistent with canon, not turning the 1970s into some high school prom full of 17-year-olds who act like they grew up on TikTok. You get me?
I do write fics and I do read fics, don’t worry, so you can shove that lazy argument about “just write your own” because it doesn’t apply here. My problem isn’t that I don’t write, my problem is that when I try to find something I’m interested in, I have to dig through mountains of crap because people can’t be bothered to tag their stuff as AU or OOC.
Guys, I took anti depressants and now I don't relate to anything funny I used to relate to. They stole my swag and cool demeanor :(
oh uh. scuse me. just a lil snail crossing your dash
one of the saddest things is when someone in your family tells you you would've loved someone who died before you were born. like my mother has told me & my best friend that we would have loved talking to her father. that me & my brothers have the same humor as our late uncle & even look like him. everyone is everywhere & nowhere & here & gone & dying & coming back. it's as though you know them through their shadow or their ghost or your own actions, but you won't ever really know. haunts me, i guess
