Self-imposed boot bondage. Last year I went hiking, where I was going to hike was about 4 hours from where I live.  I had made reservations for a local motel to spend the night. I figured it would be better to crash locally instead of driving home after a long hike. Took off early morning, after locking my boots on. The keys were left at home. Drove 4 hours to the site, had a great hike. Finished up, had dinner and headed to the motel for the night. After a long day of driving and hiking, I really wanted to take them off but I had to wait until the next day to unlock the locks once I got home.  Total time locked in my boots - just over 32 hours. Too bad I didn’t have a fellow hiker to hold the keys.  Maybe next time.
