Sometimes, I forget that some jrwi fans have either parents young enough to actually understand and enjoy the media, or kids old enough that they can at the very least let them watch the less vial stuff

(unless they’re cool with like… letting a kid hear the entire Suckening campaign or like… angelstone, or pd s2 as a whole, or blood in the bayou as a whole…)

This applies to most dnd podcasts too with the only real exception being early episodes of campaigns cuz those tend to be less weird

It’s just crazy that I’ll be scrolling and see “just showed my aunt/uncle/dad/mom/niece/nephew/daughter/son, wonderlust and they think [insert their headcanons here]”

And I'd say the biggest piece of advice is BE. HONEST. It'll save so much time and streamline you to solutions and clarity infinitely quicker

I've said things outloud in therapy that I've never said in front of anybody. It's incredibly freeing and can give whoever you're sat opposite the full makeup of what you have going on

Openly admits flaws, share your thoughts process on scenarios even if you know they were misguided, mistakes or misinformed

Be authentic, even if it feels confronting and you'll do just fine 💪 you got this

i knowww troy was sick of the philosopher's shit during the ride up to the surface but it's so so so interesting to me how he responded to questions about his family. like obviously we know he has Issues with his dad (and likely his brother, if he hasn't thought to bring him up ONCE) and he doesn't really elaborate on it much further -- but he's still always relatively casual about it, if not a bit dismissive.

but going up the clocktower, his answers were straightforward and distant. one or two word answers, no elaboration, no emotion other than mildly irritated. even when the subject shifts from his family to his first name, he keeps the same demeanor until he explodes at runt. and i think it's so striking to me bc he DOESN'T talk like that!! at no other point in the campaign so far has he behaved like this, even when bringing up his father.

i also wonder about his relationship with his brother. troy has said on multiple occasions that his relationship with his dad is rocky, but he still mentions him in casual conversation sometimes. never once has he mentioned a brother. the only time he has EVER acknowledged it was this episode, when asked if he really does have a brother (to which he responds "yea" and doesn't elaborate any further.) and idk. it's interesting.
