Paul Mccartney: How lucky was I, to have those men in my life...
WEEPING.. PAUL SAYS IN MY LIFE... AND THE VIDEO PANS OUT TO JOHN
I can totally hear the words "in my life, I love you more" but this time, it's Paul saying it.
This is a clip from the BBC interview Idris Elba did with Paul McCartney. It was produced by Mary McCartney. I just thought these were interesting visuals to put with this song.
The first attempt at “I Saw Her Standing There” from The Lyrics
(v. 1 p 327)
You’re just seventeen You act like a queen Your…..are beyond compare So how could I dance with another When I see you standing there.
i’m sorry…
YOU ACT LIKE A QUEEN?
Also, totally gender neutral. It started out totally and completely gender neutral.
When the Beatles were told to help decorate the Casbah Club, owned by Mona Best (Pete Best’s mother), John Lennon — as he finished painting the room he was assigned to paint [the Aztec Room] — decided to carve his name into the wall as a way to sign his “work of art”. He was caught by Mrs. Best, however, and received a whack on the back of his head as a punishment; but nobody covered it up and it’s still there to this day.
Some time later, when the Casbah was expanding itself, the Beatles were again asked to help with the painting of a new room [the Spider Room]. John decided to carve his name once again into the ceiling, adding a sarcastic little “I’m back” to his signature this time
the prodigal son arrives
just gonna leave this here…
edit: it’s so funny to me that Paul doesn’t allude to anything queer in his account of Parisian Beatlemania (he even uses these stereotypical old man voices to impersonate the fans) (bc he’s just *that* deep in the closet) yet George will immediately be like “yeah there were a bunch of gay boys clamoring at our door”
Is it true that after recording "real love" Paul took jeff lynne in his arms and said "oh john, give us a kiss"?
It didn’t happen during “Real Love” recording, but during ‘Free as a bird’ recording. Jeff Lynne said it in 2007, in an interview for Q Magazine.
