Since the holiday toy drive post is circulating again, I figured this would also be helpful! Food insecurity is such a massive problem in America, in general, and if you have the means to help feed others, I think you should take that opportunity. Here are some other tips:

1. If you’re planning on donating items from your own pantry, please check the expiration dates on the packaging. Think of your donations as gifts to bestow, not castoffs to be rid of. It’s awful to think of people feeling like they got scraps someone else just didn’t want. Everyone deserves dignity with their meals.

2. If you’d rather give money to a food bank, that’s also great since they buy food in bulk and know what items are most wanted/needed!

3. Not everyone has access to appliances like stoves or microwaves or hot plates so if you can donate items that don’t need to be heated up, that would also be greatly appreciated!

are some of the people newer to tumblr aware of the joys of theme customization on desktop? I know some ppl are just on mobile so they can’t really change things but like SO many blogs nowadays have 0 theme customization and just use the default theme and I’m beginning to wonder if they even know about the option. I'm late to this convo but it's alarming that the definition of misogyny has been watered down so far that people will position 'misogyny' and 'sex trafficking women' as separate things, as if the latter isn't an expression of the former. confining misogyny to 'inconsequential' slights, lesser, unimportant internet wank, while treating the violence harming women as this clouded, unnamed mystery without rhyme or reason has done irreparable damage to discussions of misogyny among online leftists. from denying the patriarchal role marginalized men play within their own communities, to branding the violence against gnc women as a sign that men are oppressed for being masculine, to framing feminism and the trans rights movement as inherently antithetical each other, to the ridiculous notion that misogyny is the least serious form of oppression, it's like basic feminist points have completely flown out of the fucking window. if not anything else please love and care for the women in your life beyond quirky posts about your favorite female fictional characters #feminism
