Secondly, this is all based off my own Shapeshifter lore that I don't think I've shared here, so if it doesn't make sense I might post my own original Shapeshifter stuff at some point.

New Shifter owners keeping only one and unknowingly making them lonely and depressed

Shifter owners not providing their pets with sufficient materials to make nests

Being captured as trophies for hunters

Being refused clothes due to being "less than human"

Alternatively, Shifter owners dressing up their pets in embarrassing clothing

Forced to wear a collar that suppresses their abilities (thus preventing them from escaping easier)

Species-Specific

Animal Shifters being forced to stay an animal for long periods of time

Species Shifters being forced to change what they look like for art references

Object Shifters being forced to be lamps/tables/chairs/etc for their owners

During the Inkblot Art Academy Big Run, if you went to Inkopolis Plaza you can hear various Salmon Run sound effects, including the Horrorboros scream, the Fish Stick drilling into the ground and singing, the sound of one player left, it’s genuinely insane the attention to detail. My Nickit lost her tail before I caught her, will this cause any issues down the line? She seems skittish but otherwise healthy, but I want to make sure it won't affect her quality of life as she gets older.

i imagine she actually feels much better in captivity than she did in the wild! pokemon do sometimes lose their tails, usually because they get caught in something or get injured in a fight. wild nickit are also prone to mange; it's a bit gruesome, but they sometimes chew their tails off because of how bad it itches.

a wild nickit without a tail would probably be very stressed, because it wouldn't be able to cover up its tracks! they also use the tail to balance when running quickly. your baby's nervousness might arise from not being able to wipe up spots where she's walked. the biggest issue we see arising from this is stress-based overgrooming, especially of the paws. you can help her out by giving her plenty of ways to play and "hunt" toys in areas where she doesn't leave pawprints and giving her safe areas to run around in where she can't run into anything that could hurt her.
