How to ask someone to be your QPP

I’ve gotten a couple of communications about this, so I thought I’d try answering it directly here.

Much like how to ask someone to be in a romantic relationship, asking someone to be in a qpr (queerplatonic relationship) can be very personal and individualized.

A good place to start is by bringing up the concept of a qpr and discussing it with the person.  They might know exactly what it is, or they might not know anything about it, or they might’ve heard of it but not know what it means to you (and honestly, what it means to you is going to be the most important).

When you’re talking about it, you can kind of gauge their reaction and see how they handle it.  If they’re dismissive or uninterested, then you know it might not be safe or helpful to try to ask them to be in a qpr with you.  If they’re respectful and want to know more, then it’s a great gateway to further discussion.

You might talk about popular depictions of qpr’s, or what you, personally, would want in a qpr, or the challenges and joys of being in multiple qpr’s or in a qpr and a romantic relationship, etc.

I’d recommend giving that some time to sit and kind of… settle in.

Then, if it has gone well so far, you can start a separate conversation about asking that person if they’d like to try building a qpr with you.

I think the phrasing here can be really important.  Since some people define qpr’s as almost like romance-less and sex-less marriages, it could be considered a pretty serious thing to ask someone to be your qpr, almost like a platonic proposal.  They might not be ready for that.

You could consider framing it more like “deepening the friendship” or even “try building a qpr” (as I phrased it above), which focuses more on the process and less on the final result.

This is a great time to strive for excellent communication, and talk about things like whether you’re on the same page about multiple qpr’s, or what you think/feel about how to handle if one or both you has romantic relationships, too.  At some point, you’ll want to talk through your respective thoughts on things like the role of physical affection in your relationship, including whatever boundaries you have (or want to have).  These kinds of conversations aren’t always easy, but they’re really important for healthy relationships of all kinds.

Followers, if you’ve asked someone to be your qpp, how did you do it?  What are some helpful ways to approach this?

I haven't watch a lot a batim content in a long good while but if I remember correctly their was a tape and that said something about Bendy not being malicious at first. That at the time when I watching Batim chapter 5 for the first time threw me for a loop [No pun intended] It got me thinking like what would have happened if someone interacted with the Ink demon before he got locked away.

So now imagine this.. [Y/N] is a screenwriter for Joey Drew Studios and one day they come in contact with Bendy. At first they’re spooked by his appearance but instead of running away they kind of freeze in fear but because that they see Bendy isn’t a threat he kinda stands there and looks at you funnily. You two actually bond over that fact Joey Drew seems like a very shady and shitty guy overall.

Queer Platonic Relationship with William Afton (Headcanons) (Gn Reader)

CW: William Afton behavior (clingy to an extreme extent, potential murder, obsession), Mention of sex in one of the bullet points (doesn't go into any specific detail, just mentions the possible idea of it)

Did not know what a qpr was until you told him, but as soon as he figured it out he was very on board with having that with you

Hc he's on the aromantic spectrum himself, so this sort of thing just makes sense with him and resonates in a way he didn't recognize before

Queer platonic relationships can include a wide variety of things, and can be different for everyone, and your relationship with William is no different

To other people, it looks like you're dating or you two have just a really close friendship-- but you and William know the undescribable feelings are different than that and are distinctly unique

It's an affection that you feel pouring out of your heart, an adoration when thinking of him and in general just an absolute fascination with him

William in turn, is fascinated with you as well, and finds you really interesting

Whether or not the feelings you have towards each other are exactly the same doesn't matter to you two. There is an understanding towards each other that you are special people in each other's lives, and there is a level of exclusivity and commitment in that which is established as partners

William probably doesn't love you in the traditional sense, but to him that doesn't matter. He is fond of you and enjoys your company and conversation and you are important to him all the same (and also lowkey obsessed with you but that's just typical with him)

William enjoys customizing his relationship with you, making it perfect

He is very fond of cuddling with you and/or kissing you, but if that isn't your thing he's okay with giving you space

Same thing goes for sex, he personally is not asexual. He is sexually attracted to you and would absolutely jump at the opportunity to have sex with you if you're into that sort of thing, but if you aren't he's okay with that and can adjust accordingly

He's okay with anything honestly, just as long as it's established that you two are important to each other, and he loves customizing the relationship to what makes you most comfortable and happy (partially that's bc he doesn't want you to ever leave him, but shhh, it's also because he just in general enjoys being with you above all else)

Yeah he does have some abandonment issues, and probably during his worse moments he would have a backup plan to kill you and make your spirit live on in an animatronic if you ever decided to leave him (bro needs therapy seriously)

He'd also probably sneak remnant into you food, and would offer to inject it into you so you could be immortal as long as you have a physical form

He is still William Afton, after all, this silly behavior is unavoidable with him

Going back to a more lighthearted note, his love language is a mix of all of them but he is specifically fond of quality time and physical touch

He will also stare at you without blinking for a long ass time. He likes looking at you. (Totally not creepy at all)

But yeah, he wants you to be in his life forever and would do anything to make that happen, and is incredibly happy to be your qpp

Lilith smiled at her grandmother. “You’re growing up to be a wonderful young woman.” Anastasia smiled sweetly at Lilith. “My Lithie, my beautiful iris.” Anastasia kissed both of her granddaughter’s cheeks. “Thank you grandmother.” Lilith thanked her. “Your welcome, my dear. Now you better not let those nasty thoughts get the better of you.” Anastasia got up from the couch. “Come on.. Let’s go and make some tottenham cake.” Anastasia said as she lightly pinched her daughter’s cheek. “It’s still your favorite right deary?” Anastasia asked Lilith. “Yes, it’s still my favorite!” Lilith said with a bright smile. Anastasia chuckled as she let go of Lilith’s cheek. “Alright, let’s head to the kitchen..” Anastasia wrapped an arm around Lilith’s shoulder. “I love you” Lilith told her grandmother. “I love you more sweetheart. More than you can imagine.” Anastasia with a loving and gentle voice.

Context: Lilith is Anastasia’s adopted granddaughter. She is 16 years old while her grandmother is 49 years old. Anastasia and her husband are both elves. Anastasia had a daughter who is also an elf who she named Diana. Diana fell in love with a human but sadly she could not bear children. So Diana and her husband adopted a little girl who happened to be born with blue hair. Diana and her husband were so happy to have a child but Anastasia refused to accept the child because she wasn’t born into the family the traditional way but as Lilith turned 4 years old. Anastasia started to warm up to the child and they bonded with each other and Anastasia loved Lilith to bits but as Lilith turned 16 years old. Anastasia noticed a change in Lilith’s behavior. So she sat Lilith down and started to get to the bottom of her granddaughter’s weird change in behavior.
