it is a knife - jack abbot.

pairing: jack abbot x reader.

warnings: very lightly implied smut. a knife? lol

summary: a lull in your shift allows for some quiet time with Jack which is suddenly interrupted by the wielding of a knife.

word count: 700+

a/n: not edited or proofread at all!! I wrote this literally in an hour. ho-ho-holy shit it’s been a minute since I’ve posted on here but, I’m back? Sort of?

It Is A Knife - Jack Abbot.

It was a quiet night in the ER— more so than normal. It almost made you miss the chaos. Almost. Because while the chaos guaranteed your shift went faster, sometimes not even that could compare to the moments hidden in the quiet. When on the rare occasion, during a lull in the night and there were only one or two people in the waiting room, every patient behind the doors sound asleep and all the staff caught up on their work, did it allow you a couple of minutes alone with your husband— the familiar feeling of his solid arms sliding around your waist from behind putting you further at ease.

“Hi,” Jack murmurs against your neck, pressing a kiss to the spot and resting his head on your shoulder.

“Hi,” you whisper back, giving his hand that rests on your middle a squeeze before going back to making your cup of tea.

“Tea?” you offer.

He shakes his head with a pleased sigh, “I’m quite happy with what I have right now.”

Your eyes widen, feeling just how happy he was as he pulled you closer to him— something hard pressing into your lower back.

“I can tell,” you breathe a laugh and turn around in his arms.

Draping your arms around his neck, you reach up to press a soft kiss against his lips, his arms tightening around you and holding you in place to pull you back in for another but you deny him to peer through the small window in the door to make sure no one was coming toward the tea room.

“All clear?” He muses, when your gaze returns to him.

You roll your eyes but, allow him to pull you into another kiss. Slow and tender, his mouth coaxes your own open to snake his tongue into yours. You moan at the feeling of his tongue sliding against yours, arms tightening around him as his hardness presses into your lower stomach—

“Fuck-” you whine, breaking the kiss.

Jack doesn’t let up though, continuing to press hot, wet kisses down your neck, his hands sliding down your body and finding perch on your ass to press you even closer to him—

“Is that a knife in your pocket or are you just that excited to see me?” you tease breathlessly but, your words seem to halt his ministrations.

“What?” you ask, head dipping to meet his gaze and concern lacing your voice at the odd look in his eyes. “Jack, what is it?”

“Uh— actually,” he removes one of his arms from around you to reach into his pocket.

“It uh— it is a knife,” he pull an all black switch blade out and shows it to you. “It’s that one I was telling you about a couple of weeks ago, remember? The one I said I ordered? It was just delivered yesterday. Here-”

You stare at your husband, absolutely bewildered and pressing a hand to your mouth while he shows it off to you, describing its different features and demonstrating them too—

“Oh my god,” you whisper from behind your fingers. The moment was completely shattered and god, if it was anyone else… but, it wasn’t anyone else. It was Jack. Your Jack and you couldn’t deny the way your heart swelled and filled with more love for him than you knew you were capable of as his eyes lit up every time he looked at you or showed you something new on the blade that he should’ve absolutely not been carrying around on him but was anyway. “Oh Jack, baby, you are so lucky I am so in love with you.”

“What? Why?” he questions, brows furrowing in complete oblivion but, you give him a moment to catch on.

“Oh-” he says, mouth forming an ‘o’ to match. “Oh- baby- I’m so sorry-”

“It’s okay,” you hum your amusement, folding the blade up and placing it in the breast pocket of his scrub top.

Leaning back against the counter, you watch as he closes his eyes and grimaces— the corner of your lips twitching as you suppress your smile. A small laugh escaping you a second later as he groans and falls forward into your arms, his head resting on your shoulder as you rub soothing circles into his back.

“If it’s of any consolation, I also was and most definitely still am excited to see you,” Jack mumbles into your neck, pressing his indeed hardened member into you.

You don’t suppress the laughter that bubbles out of you this time, arms wrapping around him as you pepper his reddened cheeks and neck with kisses.

Yeah, you lived for these quiet moments.

Surgical Sparks

Nobody knows what the day lies ahead of them. You don’t know if it is going to be a good or a bad day. Everyday you hoped it was a good day especially since you worked in Chicago Med, you are a surgeon, a damned good one at that, and you were married to a firefighter at 51, Christopher Herrmann, and you hoped he would be coming home to you everyday after shift. You two met when he brought a patient in after a huge pile up and it was all hands on board and when you two locked eyes it was love at first sight, a few days later he was coming into Med and asking for you and when he found you he asked you out and said yes. You both dated for about 6 years before he popped the question and you said yes almost immediately at your favorite spot on a little cliff overlooking the lake. You have been married for 4 years and have a baby on the way, 8 ½  months pregnant to be exact and a little baby boy.

Currently you both were laying in bed sleeping enjoying the warmth of each other and just being in each other's arms. Christopher had just worked a 24 hour shift and was off for three days and this was his last day off and you had just worked a double, not meaning to but Med was overrun and they needed the help, two days ago. You had woken up a few minutes ago but didn’t have the heart to move away from your husband and he had the same thought. “You know we have to get up and get ready to go to work, right?” He asked and that had you opening your eyes and turning to him with the help of him. When you were looking at him he kissed your forehead.

“Do we have to?” You asked after he pulled away from the kiss.

“Yes, we do. Gotta make that money for this little man coming soon.” He said putting a hand on your stomach and you felt your baby kick him and smiled.

“He’s going to be such a daddy's boy.” You said and he rolled his eyes and smiled.

“Psh no he’s going to be a momma’s boy all the way.” He said and you smiled and kissed him  again. Just then the baby kicked you in the bladder and you gasped. “You ok?” Christopher asked worriedly and you smiled at him.

“Your son is making me have to pee.” You chuckled and he was up faster than you. He was coming around to your side and then helping you up.

“Then we gotta get you up and the bathroom then.” He said as you stood up and you did just that. When you were done you started getting ready for the day and going down to the kitchen where he was in the kitchen making you breakfast and a cup of decaf coffee, man you missed the caffeinated coffee.

“When do you have to go?” You asked, sitting down as he put the plate in front of you.

“30 minutes after you.” He said and took a sip of coffee and you took a bite of food and moaned.

“You’re a great cook, you know that?” You asked and he chuckled.

“So are you.” He said leaning back against the counter the two of you fell into a comfortable conversation until you were done eating and it was time for you to leave. You made one more quick bathroom break and then you were kissing him and grabbing your coat, backpack, and keys. “I love you. Text me when you can.” He said you smiled as you opened the door.

“Love you too. You too.” You said and then were on your way to work. 10 minutes later and you were arriving at work at the same time as your best friend, Will Halstead. The both of you got out at the same time.

“Good morning, Dr. Momma Herrmann.” He said smirking, ever since you became pregnant that was the nickname you got around everywhere, you also tended to act the mother to everyone.

“Good morning, Will.” You said as the both of you rounded your cars.

“How is little Baby Boy Herrmann?” He asked you and smiled, you hadn’t come up for a name just yet nothing struck you or Christopher.

“He’s doing good, decided to get me up by playing soccer with my bladder.” You said and earned a kick and you put your hand on your stomach, Will chuckled.

“Come on, don’t want the two of you standing out in the cold.” He said and threw an arm around your shoulders and the two of you walked into Med and heading to the locker rooms you greeted people along the way.

“Herrmann! About time you showed up!” Kelly Severide joked and Christopher rolled his eyes but smirked.

“Hey I’m right on time!” He said walking into the bay and up to Kelly.

“Just messing with you.” He said chuckling and he chuckled too. “How is Momma Herrmann doing?” Kelly asked as he walked into the firehouse with Christopher and to the locker room.

“She’s doing good. Little man woke her up playing soccer with her bladder.” He said and Kelly chuckled. “Any names yet?” He asked and Christopher shook his head.

“Nothing yet. Nothing has struck us yet.” He said

“Well I think Kelly is a really good name.” Kelly said and Christopher laughed.

“I’ll bring it up to the misses.” He said and then they were heading to the briefing room after he was done changing and putting things away. Everyone was briefed and then the day started.

30 minutes into the work day went by and they were currently chilling in the break room. “How much longer until Baby Boy Herrmann is here?” Gabriela Dawson asked him as she sat down next to him.

“4 more months and Y/N is ready to give him the eviction notice now.” He chuckled and everyone else did too.

“How has she been?” Matt Casey asked.

“She’s drained but won’t admit it. Too stubborn for her own good.” He said

“Sounds like someone else we know.” Joe Cruz said.

“Hey!” He said and everyone laughed again and so did he. Just then the bells were going off.

“Truck 81, Engine 51, Ambulance 61, Squad 3. House fire, multiple injuries, multi-car accident, persons in distress. 871 Willow Street.”

Everyone was off and running to their respected vehicle. “I think this is the most we’ve seen in one call. I wonder what is going on.” Joe said.

“I don’t know but hopefully it’s not as bad.” Matt said

You had just gotten out of surgery and back down to the ED when Maggie quickly shouted “We have incoming! Multi-car accident, several burn victims, and persons in distress!” She shouted and you were quick to grab more gloves and slip them on. As your colleagues were told where to go you spotted your husband and quickly ran over to him.

“What do we have?” You asked as Maggie told you where to go.

“One of the car crash victims. 36 year old man with several lacerations and possible broken bones. Looks to be stab wounds, looks to be gang related.” Gabby said

“Alright move on my count. 1.2.3.” You said and everyone moved him to the hospital bed. They left and you got to work. You looked up at your husband and gave him a smile and a nod and he did the same and then he was leaving. “Sir, can you hear me?” You asked him and rubbed his chest with your fist. You got nothing and so you started to call out labs that you needed to run “I want to get an IV of fluids going now.” You said and just as a nurse was about to stick him after getting a tourniquet on him he woke up with a start grabbing a pair of scissors on the table that would be used for cutting the clothing.

Truck 81 and Ambulance 61 one police car and Intelligence rushed past them and headed towards the hospital and that got Christopher worried. “What the hell is going on?” He asked.

“I don’t know I will find out.” Matt asked and he radioed into but Christopher was worried you were there and 8 ½  months pregnant and something big was going down at Med. “It looks like the victim that we just took in from the car accident was a person of interest with Intelligence.” Matt said and Christopher paled. He grabbed his phone and sent you messages and texts hoping you got called into surgery with another patient or somehow managed to get to the break room but yet he got nothing in reply. “Squad is still there. They arrived a few minutes after us.” Matt said and that made him feel a little bit better but not really.

“She’s going to be ok. Kelly is there with her.” Peter Mills said, trying to comfort the older man. Kelly was very protective of you. I guess that would be because you are his older sister and he would do anything to protect you so having him there with you was the best case scenario. Truck 81 and Ambulance 61 rolled into the bays and Christopher was the first one out, stripping off his turnout coat and boots and putting on his other boots. He went inside and started the pacing back and forth. Everyone was worried for you, you became like a mom to them even though you were younger than some of the crew but older than some of the crew. Randall ‘Mouch’ McHolland stopped his best friend.

“She’s going to be alright.” He said

“I just wish we stayed a little bit longer.” Christopher said

“Me too.” Mouch said and patted him on the shoulder and brought him in for a hug “Me too.”

“Woah woah woah woah.” Ethan Choi said since he had been helping you. He had stepped in when everyone left. “Let’s think this through.” He said. The man grabbed you around the neck and started to back you up into the main flow of ED. This got everyone’s attention, one in particular your brother, Kelly.

“Hey let my sister go!” He said coming up to you both.

“Not another move or I’ll end her.” The man said and that had him stopping you could feel the point of the scissors on your stomach and you tensed up.

“Please don’t hurt my baby.” You pleaded but that just seemed to piss him off because he pressed the scissors harder into your stomach not yet penetrating and you inhaled sharply and he tightened his grip onto around your throat. Everything seemed to go into slow motion and even freeze. You started feeling the baby kick and then you started to feel cramping, then you realized those cramps were contractions and not a second later something wet was running down your leg, your water had just broken.

“Let her go and take me.” Connor Rhodes, your colleague, your best friend, and fellow classmate said having noticed your water breaking and so had everyone else.

“Sir, you need to let her go. Her water just broke and we need to get her to labor and delivery.” Sharon Goodwin said.

“Not a chance. I want out of here and no cops.” He said

“I can’t let you do that. Cops were already on their way when you were brought in.” Will said, trying to get closer. The cramps were coming harder and so were the kicks.

“Stay back.” The man hissed, backing up further and dragging you with him.

“Hey man, nobody has to get hurt. You can get out of this alive. You don’t want to harm or kill a pregnant woman.” Kelly said getting irritated and pissed off that you and his nephew were in harm's way. He then saw Jay Halstead, Hank Voight, Antonio Dawson, Adam Ruzek, Kevin Atwater, Alvin ‘Al’ Olinksky and Kim Burgess roll in along with Chicago PD officers.

“Put the weapon down and let her go.” Hank said in his gruff voice.

“Not a chance. I’m not going back to prison.” He said

“Just listen to them and everything will be fine. Look around you, you’re surrounded and have no chance of getting away. Drop the weapon and let me go and you won’t be killed.” You said trying to stay strong and that seemed to do it because he was letting you go and dropping the scissors. Jay came rushing over and roughly and quickly grabbed his arms and cuffed. Kelly coming over and grabbing you into the safety of your arms.

“You ok?” Jay asked you and you nodded.

“Yea, I think so.” You said as a cramp came through and he nodded and then he was taking the perp out with most of everyone filing out after him. Connor was coming over to you along with Natalie Manning. “I’m having cramps, really bad ones.” You said as one came over you and you inhaled sharply.

“Alright, I’m taking you to labor and delivery.” She said and you nodded and then you and Kelly were heading there. He quickly told the others to head back. You were quickly changed out of your scrubs, stopping several times due to contractions and then you were put into a bed. Connor checked where the scissors were held against you.

“Nothing serious and barely broke skin.” He said and you were thankful for that.

“Can you go and call Christopher?” You asked Connor and he smiled and nodded.

“Yea I will.” He said and left the room. You started to inhale deeply through your nose and exhaled through your mouth. The kicking was not stopping and neither was the cramping. “Kels?” You asked and he looked at you and held your hand.

“I want my husband.” You said

“I know sis, he’s coming.” He said and not a few seconds later he was rolling into the room.

“I’m here.” He said, coming over to your side.

“He’s going to be early.” You said scared and Natalie was right there reassuring you.

“He’s developed enough. He’ll be ok.” She said as she started to help you into position. “I’m gonna need to push. You’re fully dilated.” She said and you nodded and started to push.

“You’re doing great, Baby. I got you.” Christopher said holding your leg and hand and Kelly was on the other side doing the same thing.

“You’re doing great, Sis. You’re doing great.” Kelly said

“Push, Momma.” Natalie said and you did and then fell back onto the bed.

“I can’t. I can’t.” You said exhausted

“Yes you can. Come on, Baby. We’re here for you. Our son is almost here.” Christopher said

“I can see the head. One more big push.” Natalie said and you nodded and did so. You pushed with all your might and then a pressure was released and your son came out screaming to the world.

“You did it, Sis. You did it.” Kelly said and kissed your head as your son was placed on your chest.

“Dad, you wanna cut the cord?” Natalie asked and Christopher did so after being shown where to cut. “You have a name?” She asked eagerly.

“Rye Kelly Herrmann.” You said and Christopher smiled.

“You two already had a name didn’t you?” Kelly asked

“Yes we did.” You said as the nurse took him and cleaned him up.

“You both are sneaky.” Natalie said, smirking. “Congratulations you two.” She said after she and the nurses finished up. Rye was given back to you.

“Kelly, you want to hold your nephew?” Christopher asked and he nodded.

“Yea.” He said and you handed him over to him. You watched him with him and smiled as your husband sat with you on arms wrapped around your shoulders and kissed your head. Your colleagues came in and out checking on you and meeting the baby.

2 Months Later

Christopher went back to work 2 months after Rye was born since that is when his paternity leave was up. You had more time to stay home with the maternity leave and the days saved up for vacation. When he went back everyone was excited to see pictures and hear about Rye. Christopher was somehow energized and excited to be back to work and on calls. Truck and Ambulance were called out leaving Squad and Engine back at the station. When they got back nobody was out in the bays and this made everyone wonder why. So when they parked and changed out of their turnout gear everyone went inside to investigate. When they got into the break room everyone was crowded around someone. “Oh he’s so cute.” Connie said. Everyone else got closer and saw who they were talking about.

“Y/N/N, I didn’t know you were coming today.” Christopher said as he came closer and Rye got excited seeing him. He quickly took him into his arms.

“I thought I would surprise you and thought it was about time for everyone to meet him in person and not through pictures.” You said and everyone chuckled.

“I’m glad you did. I think everyone needed this.” Wallace Boden said.

“We certainly did.” Gabby said “May I?” She asked and you smiled and nodded and Christopher handed him to her.

“Of course.” The both of you said. He walked over to you and wrapped his arm around your shoulders and kissed your head.

“I love you.” He said

“I love you too.” You said as you watched your brother and extended family interact with your son. He was going to be so well protected and have so many aunts and uncles.

Market Hearts - Benedict Bridgerton

Word Count: 1751

Summary: When one notices their lover's joy in a rather odd place, why would they not join in on the feeling?

Market Hearts - Benedict Bridgerton

Benedict Bridgerton, the second son of the Bridgerton family, had never imagined himself spending a morning in the bustling streets of the London market.

It was an unconventional activity for a gentleman of his stature, but then again, you were anything but conventional.

Y/n Bridgerton, you were a woman of singular character.

You possessed a spirit as free as the wind and a heart as generous as the summer sun.

From the moment Benedict had laid eyes on you, he had known that his life would never be the same.

Marrying you had been the easiest decision of his life, but understanding the full depth of your soul was a journey he was still on.

This morning was to be another chapter in that journey.

“Benedict, you don’t have to come with me,” you said, your eyes sparkling with amusement as you adjusted the basket on your arm.

The sunlight streamed through the windows of your house, casting a warm glow on your hair.

Benedict, already dressed in attire more suited for a morning ride in the park than a trip to the market, shook his head with a smile.

“Nonsense. How can I resist seeing where you disappear to every week? You speak of the market as if it were some magical land.”

“In a way, it is,” you replied, your voice softening. “It’s full of life and color, of people with stories etched into their faces. It reminds me of how fast the world is.”

Benedict studied your face, noting the earnestness in your eyes.

This was not merely a chore for you, it was an adventure, an exploration of humanity that fed your soul.

It was one of the many reasons he loved you so fiercely. How could he not join you on this journey, even if only for a day?

“Then lead the way, my love,” he said, offering you his arm.

You walked through the streets of Mayfair, a picture-perfect couple that turned heads wherever you went.

Benedict, with his tall, lean frame and dark, wavy hair, cut a dashing figure in his tailored coat and polished boots.

You, on the other hand, were the epitome of grace and beauty.

Your gown, a simple yet elegant affair in pale blue, highlighted your form and the natural radiance that seemed to emanate from your every pore.

As you moved further away from the more affluent parts of town, the cobblestones grew uneven, and the scent in the air shifted from the delicate aroma of roses to the more earthy smell of baked bread and fresh produce.

The market was already bustling with activity, despite the early hour.

Stalls lined the streets, filled with everything from ripe fruits and vegetables to bolts of colorful fabric and handmade trinkets.

Benedict quickly noticed how out of place he was.

Gentlemen of his rank did not frequent such places.

He could feel the curious glances of the vendors and the wary looks of the other shoppers, but he paid them no mind.

His focus was on you.

You greeted the stall owners by name, engaging them in friendly conversation as you perused their wares.

Benedict watched as you haggled over the price of a plump tomato with an elderly man, your laughter infectious as you bantered back and forth.

It was a side of you that he rarely saw—a side that was not burdened by the expectations of society, a side that was free and unguarded.

“Y/n has a way with people,” the voice of an elderly woman cut through his thoughts.

Benedict turned to find a small, wizened woman standing beside him, a knowing smile on her lips.

She was dressed in a simple brown dress, her hair hidden beneath a white cap.

Despite her humble appearance, there was something regal about her bearing.

“Indeed she does,” Benedict replied, his gaze drifting back to you, as you were helping a young mother choose a handful of carrots while keeping the woman’s children entertained with a funny story.

The old woman chuckled. “She has the gift of seeing people, really seeing them. It’s a rare thing, especially among those who live in the world you come from.”

Benedict studied the woman, intrigued by her words. “And what world would that be?”

“The world of titles and wealth, where appearances matter more than hearts,” the woman said, her tone gentle but firm. “Your wife, she sees past all that. She sees the soul.”

Benedict felt a stirring in his chest, a mix of pride and something deeper—something almost like reverence.

The old woman’s words rang true.

You had always had an uncanny ability to connect with people, to make them feel seen and valued, no matter their station in life.

“She is my sunshine,” Benedict found himself saying, the words slipping out before he could think better of them.

The old woman smiled, a twinkle in her eye. “And you, young man, are her moon. You reflect her light and give it back to her when the night comes.”

Benedict looked at the woman in surprise, but before he could respond, she gave him a small nod and shuffled away into the crowd, leaving him standing there, contemplating her words.

He had always known that you were special, but seeing you here, in your element, made him realize just how unique you truly were.

You were a beacon of light, brightening the lives of everyone you encountered.

And it was his duty, his privilege, to protect that light.

As you continued your journey through the market, Benedict found himself more and more in awe of you.

You moved with a grace that belied the chaos around you, your laughter like music amidst the cacophony of voices and sounds.

He saw how the sellers’ faces lit up when they saw you, how the children gathered around you, drawn to your warmth like moths to a flame.

But he also saw the challenges.

There were moments when your cheerful demeanor was met with coldness or indifference, when your attempts to connect were rebuffed by those who were too hardened by life’s difficulties to appreciate your kindness.

And it was in those moments that Benedict felt a fierce protectiveness rise within him.

He had always been a man of action, a man who could solve problems with a few well-placed words or a deft stroke of his pen.

But here, in this vibrant, unpredictable world, he realized that there were some things that required more than just his influence or his name.

Here, it was you who held the power, and all he could do was stand by your side and support you in whatever way he could.

“Benedict,” your voice brought him back to the present.

You were standing in front of a stall selling flowers, a small bouquet of wildflowers in your hand. “Aren’t these lovely? They remind me of the fields near our home.”

Benedict smiled and took the bouquet from you, bringing it to his nose to inhale the sweet scent. “They are lovely, but not as lovely as you.”

You blushed and playfully swatted his arm. “You’re incorrigible.”

“Only because you inspire it, my dear.”

As you continued to browse the stalls, Benedict felt a growing sense of contentment.

This was what life was truly about—these small, precious moments shared with the person he loved more than anything in the world.

Eventually, you made your way to a quieter part of the market, where a small café sat tucked away between two larger buildings.

You led him inside, where you found a cozy table near the window.

The owner, a rotund man with a jolly face, greeted you warmly and quickly brought you a pot of tea and a plate of freshly baked scones.

“I come here every time I visit the market,” you explained as you poured the tea. “It’s my little retreat, a place to sit and think.”

Benedict looked around the café, taking in the simple yet charming décor.

It was a place that perfectly reflected your personality—unpretentious, welcoming, and full of warmth.

As you sipped your tea, Benedict reached across the table and took your hand in his. “Thank you for bringing me here today.”

You looked at him, your eyes filled with love and affection. “I’m glad you came. I know it’s not the sort of place you’re used to, but it means a lot to me that you wanted to share it with me.”

Benedict squeezed your hand, his heart swelling with emotion. “There’s nowhere else I’d rather be.”

You sat in comfortable silence for a while, simply enjoying each other’s company.

Benedict found himself reflecting on the events of the morning, on the way you had moved through the market with such ease and grace.

He realized that you had a rare gift, one that went beyond your beauty or your charm.

You had the ability to bring out the best in people, to make them feel valued and appreciated.

And it was a gift that he was determined to protect, no matter what.

When you finally left the café, the sun was high in the sky, casting long shadows across the cobblestone streets.

Benedict and you made your way back to your home, the basket of market goods in tow.

As you walked, Benedict wrapped his arm around your shoulders, pulling you close.

“You know,” he said, his voice thoughtful, “I’ve always considered myself a man of the night. I find solace in the quiet, in the solitude.”

You looked up at him, your eyes curious. “And now?”

Benedict smiled down at you, his heart full to bursting. “Now I know that the night is only beautiful because of the sun. You are my sunshine. You bring light to my life in ways I never imagined.”

Tears glistened in your eyes as you leaned into him, resting your head against his chest. “And you are my moon. You are the one who gives me the strength to shine, who reflects my light when I cannot see it myself.”

You continued your walk in silence, the weight of your words hanging in the air like a blessing.

Benedict knew that life would not always be easy, that there would be challenges and obstacles ahead.

But as long as he had you by his side, he knew you could face anything together.

You were his sunshine, and he was your moon.

And together, you would light up the world.

Please you guys need to read this and demand part 2!!!

𝕋𝕙𝕖 𝔾𝕦𝕚𝕕𝕠 𝕋𝕠 𝕄𝕪 𝕃𝕦𝕚𝕘𝕚

Alessandro Fusaro x Fem!Reader (she/her) Where taking your niece to a race has an unexpected, very stressful (but eventually very welcome) outcome.

Warnings: None! Maybe some brief talks of the dreaded emotions!! (also probably some bad Italian translations 😅)

Ember's Notes: I really hope you like this one @pear-1206 because I actually loved writing it so much oml 🫶🫶

(I left it kind of open ended so if there’s a decent demand for it, I can write a part two that focuses mainly on the pairing)

𝕋𝕙𝕖 𝔾𝕦𝕚𝕕𝕠 𝕋𝕠 𝕄𝕪 𝕃𝕦𝕚𝕘𝕚

For as long as you could remember, your family had been staunch Ferrari supporters. You had been part of the Tifosi for your whole life. It was something that you had found so much joy in, being able to cheer and root for the same team as the rest of your family. Which is why you had asked your younger brother if you could take your 7 year old niece, Gianna, to the Imola Grand Prix. He had told you a few months ago that he was trying to get Gianna to be a Ferrari fan (a fan of motorsport in general) but it was turning out to be tough work.

Originally your father had planned to take you with him, but given the circumstances, he had told you to take Gianna. So you brought it up to your brother and his wife. Your sister-in-law had been worried that something might happen to Gianna (and you of course) but she swiftly agreed to let you take her daughter when you promised to facetime every morning and every night that you were away. All that was left to do was to tell Gianna that she would get to spend a whole weekend with her Zia Y/n. [Auntie]

A few weeks have gone by and it was finally time for you to introduce your niece to the world of Formula One. You hoped that she would have fun, especially given just how excited she was when her parents told her about the trip. You desperately didn’t want that excitement to have been for nothing.

“How long will we take this weekend, Zia?” You heard her ask from the backseat of your car, your beloved 1959 Fiat 500. Your car had been another thing that Gianna was excited about for the weekend, as you usually only drove it around on special occasions.

“We’re going to be here all weekend, Bambina. Nonno was kind enough to get us passes into the garage for the whole weekend.” You told her. [Baby] [Grandpa]

“Are we going to meet important people?” She asked, twiddling with her thumbs timidly. You became worried as this was so far away from how she usually was.

“Mmm, I’m not sure Fiore. Why? Are you nervous?” [Flower]

“Un po’” [A little bit]

Your heart melted and seized simultaneously. You reassured her that being nervous was normal, because she had never gone to a race weekend before. Wanting to see her smile again, you offered to teach her about who was who in the paddock as soon as you settled into your hotel room. Gianna quickly agreed and was back to her vibrant, excited self in no time.

Walking into the paddock on Friday morning was a feeling that you would happily get used to. Gianna had asked if you could try and get there earlier than all the drivers. When you asked, she told you that she still wasn’t 100% confident about who was who, despite spending well over an hour the night before looking up pictures and matching them to names. Gianna said that by getting there earlier than the others, the two of you could find a nice spot somewhere near the entrance where you could point and tell her who was walking through.

Thinking about it, you couldn’t fault her logic. So here you were bright and early. You had arrived with enough time to buy some breakfast and find a nicely shaded spot where you could settle in while you waited. Gianna had insisted that you both sit at a table that was both directly opposite the paddock entrance and under a rather large tree. Sitting down you gave Gianna her breakfast, a freshly toasted bacon and egg croissant, and made sure that she was drinking enough water from her Cars themed bottle. Similarly you also began to eat your own croissant while you sipped your scalding hot coffee.

Gianna spoke to you about what she was most excited for this weekend while you both ate. Occasionally someone would walk through the entrance that she recognised. You were surprised just how often she had noticed someone that you mentioned the previous night. So far she had pointed out some drivers, a few of the team principals and the occasional mechanic or engineer.

When Hannah Schmidt had walked through though, Gianna had nearly fallen off her seat as she pointed and told you that she had recognised and remembered the iconic woman. Said woman had heard Gianna excitedly cry and she had smiled and waved at your niece as she walked to the Red Bull garage.

You smiled when you noticed that Hannah had waved at Gianna. Happy that this trip was definitely living up to what you had promised your niece. Seeing that the two of you had long since stopped eating, you packed away your rubbish and cleaned up the area you had been sitting.

“Should we walk around for a bit, Gigi? Stretch our legs a little?”

“Yes please, Zia.”

So you packed away your things and threw away your rubbish in a nearby bin. You held Gianna’s hand and walked around for a bit as you didn’t need to be in the garage for a little while still.

Walking around the paddock with your niece made sure to point out all the things she thought were interesting. You were giving her little tidbits of information throughout the whole walk, about a bunch of things that had to do with motorsport. Granted most of the information was directly about Ferrari but hey, you were trying to induct a brand new member of the Tifosi.

Unbeknownst to you, just as you were starting to tell Gianna about the extensive history of Ferrari, a member of the Scuderia Ferrari media team had strolled past you and had heard you speaking about Enzo Ferrari. They had quickly turned around and you found yourself being approached by a small media team no less than 2 minutes later.

“Hi, I’m Sophia. I’m part of Ferrari’s media team, I was just wondering if we could film you answering some Ferrari related questions for a youtube video?”

Having not expected this change of events at all, but also knowing you wouldn’t get another chance, you agreed to let them film you. So long, of course, that they didn’t get Gianna’s face in the shot. As they started to set their equipment, you gently kneeled next to your niece and asked her to stay within a few metres of you so that she wouldn’t get lost.

“Te lo prometto Zia!” [I promise Auntie!]

“Bene.” [Good.]

As you stood up they told you that they were ready to film when you were. Giving them the go ahead they pressed record and started asking you questions. First general questions about Formula One but soon they started to ask more obscure questions about Ferrari specifically. You smiled and gave as many answers as you could. Which was a lot. Later when the video would come out, a lot of people would comment that had you not introduced yourself at the beginning they’d’ve thought you were related to Enzo himself.

The questions had ended after almost twenty minutes. Sophia had apologised because she wasn’t aware how long that would take but you assured her it was no problem at all. You readjusted your shoulder bag and went to grab Gianna’s hand, only to not see her where she was supposed to be standing.

“Gianna?” you called, trying not to panic. She was right beside you, where could she have gone?

“Gigi?! Fiore, this isn’t funny!” you tried to call out again. “Zia’s getting really worried!”

Having already excused yourself from the media team next to you, disregarding their shocked and worried looks, you quickly started walking around trying to find your niece. Walking towards the end of the paddock you kept calling out for her, hoping that someone would take pity on you and help you look. Thankfully you had taken a “fit check” photo with her this morning, meaning that when you went up to people asking if they’d seen her, you could show them a picture of what she was wearing that day.

Too many people had said they’d not seen her at all for you to be comfortable. You were starting to get frantic when another 10 minutes had gone by. There was no way you were returning home without your niece. You’d turn into Liam Neeson if you found out that someone had taken her. Speed walking past the Ferrari garage, you finally heard the sound you had needed to hear.

Gianna’s giggles.

Letting her giggling lead you to her, you ended up in the garage where you needed to be for the beginning of the practise sessions. Looking around for Gianna, you noticed that one of the mechanics was crouching down but not facing the car at all. Walking closer you finally saw that the mechanic was entertaining you niece, whose face was lit up with the biggest smile you had ever seen.

Emotions washed over you like a tsunami. She hadn’t been taken. Tears welled up in your eyes at the utter relief you felt finally knowing that she had been safe the whole time.

Rushing over to her, you quickly scooped her up into a hug, wrapping your arms around her tightly.

“Gianna! Mia cara ragazza, non hai idea di quanto fossi preoccupato! I thought someone had taken you away and you were lost forever! Sono così felice che tu stia bene!” By now your tears had begun falling down your face. [My darling girl, you have no idea how worried I was!] [I’m so glad you’re okay!]

“Zia! I’m sorry! I didn’t mean to break my promise but someone pushed into me and I fell and when I got up again I couldn’t see you and then I bumped into Alessandro and he asked me why I was crying and so I told him that I couldn’t see you and that we were supposed to go to the Ferrari garage for practise so he made sure I got here without anyone else pushing me!” She rushed to tell you everything that had led to this moment. You finally let go of her, moving your hands to stroke the hair away from her face. In the back of your mind you noted that she had bumped into Charles Leclerc’s head mechanic, but that could be focussed on later.

“It’s okay Principessa. You found help, I’m proud of you. I was just worried when I couldn’t see you, that's all.” You said, finally able to wipe your own tears off of your face. “Did you say thank you to Mr. Fusaro?”

Alessandro decided to cut in before Gianna could tell you that she had indeed said thank you. “Please, there’s no need for thank you’s. I didn’t want her to get more lost or upset.”

Standing up, you gently placed a hand on Gianna’s shoulder as you faced the man in front of you. “I must insist, you just saved me from a horrible phone call with my sister-in-law.”

You both chuckled a little as you spoke. He brushed you off again saying he loved hanging out with Ferrari’s biggest little fan.

“Zia, he has a tattoo! It’s so cool!” Seeing Alessandro get a bit bashful when your niece spoke made you curious, but you decided to not bring a lot of attention to that.

“Does he?” You said. Of course you already knew. Being part of the Tifosi for as long as you had, Alessandro’s Guido tattoo was common knowledge. Funnily enough it was one of the questions Sophia had asked you. Which ferrari mechanic has an iconic tattoo and what is the tattoo? It was your favourite question to answer as it allowed you to bring up your precious Fiat 500 that you had named Luigi after the Fiat from the Cars movie. It technically also allowed you to bring up your own tattoo which was, again, based on Luigi from Cars. Not that you did bring it up. You’d never hear the end of it from your father.

“Uhuh! It’s a red Guido from the same movie as yours!” Trust your innocent niece to blurt to all Ferrari that you also had a Cars themed tattoo.

Alessandro was now less bashful and more intrigued about your tattoo.

“The same movie as yours?” He asked.

You chuckled and continued to smooth out Gianna’s hair as you faced Alessandro. “Yeah, a few years ago, maybe a month before Gianna was born, I got a tattoo of Luigi from Cars. In a pale red instead of the usual yellow.”

Gianna nodded her head quickly and began to excitedly tell him all about how the first movie she had ever watched with you was Cars and how it had become your thing together.

All too quickly time caught up and it was soon time for Alessandro to go back to work. Gianna had deflated a little at the knowledge but she perked up again when Alessandro had said that he would try and talk to them again after both practise sessions had finished.

“After all,” he said, kneeling in front of her but looking up at you, “I’d love to get to know you better.”

I actually love this so much (When I get back home, I'll be making a new masterlist for the non-drivers that I'm gonna be writing for) ((also, while i’m away from my computer i’m gonna be typing up some dusty requests and maybe some drafts as well on my phone so please excuse any irregular formatting i’ll try and fix them before i post them))

this is also being posted a lot later than i initially thought it would be. i had planned for it to be posted before Monaco but 😅 (also something will be coming for the monaco race but i want it to be perfect so it might be a while before that comes to light)
