I'm thinking of drawing more snails. Snails are fun to draw.

Do snails dream of wet clover and fresh lettuce?

Do adolescent snails have wet dreams and leave little snail nuts on the morning grass?

I'm a big admirer of Paul Klee.

I don't think Klee ever used this motif but as I drew this I was thinking about him.

I gave up on this drawing, and then I liked it.

Well, I liked the blue part. To me, the entire drawing is there just to make the blue part look good.

And it does.

Then again, the red and yellow parts are nice too..

Everything in life comes down to red, yellow and blue. And browns.

It was my brother who pointed out to me that browns bring out color.

Which is true, on several levels.

The Band - The Weight

I was fortunate enough to see The Band's farewell concert at the Hollywood Bowl in 1976. My friend's mother was a reporter for the LA Times and she had guest tickets but she couldn't go so she gave the tickets to us. It turned out the tickets were for the VIP section! What a great show. There we were, three crazy young hippies, high on peyote, sitting in front row center seats, along side a bevy of Hollywood dignitaries, digging The Band and all their guest artists.

Fond memory.

Totally unrelated, I drew these random hotels a few years back. I like the colors. And the textures.

I haven't been drawing for a couple of weeks. I don't know why.

Shit happens. Sometimes shit doesn't happen.

This morning I went through some old drawings looking for inspiration and I found this drawing from last year.

I like this drawing. I probably shouldn't like it because it's half done, but who among us can claim to be complete?

And she talks to me. She has attitude. She's like a character from some hard boiled novel.

She exudes plot.

Magic that I will never fathom.

I used to draw this little dog. I just thought he was cute that's all. Then one day I posted the above drawing to a Facebook group and not only did the drawing get removed but I got kicked out of the group! It was kind of funny 😎
