˚✶ * morning massage w/ osamu

    dark clouds move slowly above your house, circling and swirling in every which way. rain trickles down every few minutes, lightening up only to storm back down in ever changing waves. the kitchen light seems to be the only one on, a soft warm essence that leaks into the connected dining room. windows let in whatever light seeps through the clouds, illuminating the puzzle in front of you.

  a simply decorated mug sits on the table, your hand clasped around the handle. heat bubbles up from the mug, a sweetened coffee slowly cooling as you place another piece. you tend to work on the sides first, outlining it before filling it in. pressing another piece in, you bring the mug up to your lips, the cool lip of the ceramic is quickly replaced by the warm liquid. 

  osamu tends to wake up early, a habit formed from early mornings in the kitchen (and a season at a bakery). however, this particular morning, his body decided to give him a rest. something you wish you could give him every day he comes home from a long shift. although, it doesn't stop you from appreciating hearing his soft footsteps entering the hallway. 

  setting down another puzzle piece, you look out the window, the barely visible reflection of osamu in the kitchen reflecting off of it. looking back down, you pretend to not hear him, taking another sip of your coffee, trying to hide the smile creeping onto your face. sitting it back down, your eyes are covered with moisturized hands, still rough from calluses. 

  "guess who.." his voice is deeper than usual, the usual morning raspiness still there.

  "well, i'm hoping it's my husband. if not, this coffee is scolding hot."

  he chuckles lightly, echoing through your ear like a song. slowly moving his hands from your eyes, they turn over, the backs of his hands brushing against your neck. his touch is soft, barely noticeable besides the goosebumps it sends running down your spine. one stays by your neck, returning his palm to your skin, thumb pressing against a resilient knot forming beneath. "it's a good thing it is than."

  leaning over your shoulder, osamu's head comes into view. his expression is soft, a five o'clock shadow forming from a lazy weekend. "good morning lovely," leaning towards you, his lips brush your nose, the sweet scent of toothpaste and day old cologne filling your nostrils. 

  slowly his lips trace down yours, peppering your frown lines until he eventually tastes the coffee you were drinking. it's not as dark as he tends to enjoy, but he would hate to someday kiss your lips and taste that same bitterness. the prickly hairs on his face leaving a tingling sensation on your upper lip. "good morning handsome," you whisper into his lips, the mint flavor growing ever stronger.

  "your neck feels really stiff, you want your personal masseuse to step up?" osamu smiles, leaning back from your kiss, still keeping eye contact with you.

  pursing your lips, you nod softly, eyebrows lowering. "if he's available today..."

  osamu's quick to stand up straight, cracking his knuckles (in quite an over exaggerated manner). his hands slowly lowers against your shoulders, fingers moving methodically until they're in their respective places. sitting back in your seat, you try to loosen the tension in your upper body. as soon as your shoulders drop, osamu's thumbs begin to press into your back, a soft hum escaping your lips. 

  they swirl around the spots with an amount of pressure that felt uncomfortably perfect. his fingers press the front of your shoulders, rubbing up and down in a soothing motion. "so happy i took that baking course," osamu whispers, hands readjusting so his hands are against your low neck.

  "you're equating massaging my shoulders to kneading dough?" you question, leaning your head back so you can look up and see his face, eyebrows raised. 

  looking back down at you, his eyes roll absentmindedly, annoyed with your inability to sit down and relax. "well you are just as stubborn. although, i do love you significantly more," osamu's hands leave your neck, instead cupping your neck as he leans down for another kiss.

  "i would hope so."

    iwaizumi's fingers brush your stomach and side, his touch leaving a desirable feeling inside your chest. your stomach bubbles within, butterflies almost breaking to the surface. he pulls at the hem of your sweatshirt, crumpling it within his fists. "you're squirming," he hums, looking up into your eyes.

  "i'm ticklish, you know that," you bite the inside of your cheek, feeling vulnerable under his guise. 

  his head shakes back and forth in short, quick turns. a smile covers his lips, wrinkles forming around his eyes. pulling the sweatshirt up to beneath your bra, he lets it rest there, twisted and rolled. reaching one hand over your shoulder, he grabs at your collar. carefully pulling your hand through the hole, iwaizumi lets it rests on your collarbones.

  he's close to you, body less than a foot from yours. his fingers pressing against your good arm's shoulder, he attempts to pull your arm through the sleeve. "sorry, i hope it's not hurting on your other arm," iwaizumi's voice is low, gentle.

  goosebumps scatter up and down your skin, his touch being the only thing you can focus on. swallowing hard, you glance over at him as he gets your good arm through the sleeve. "no, it's feeling alright.. probably still working with the pain medication though," you look back in front of you, watching as he walks around to the other side of you.

  "well, there might be some dull pain from taking this sweatshirt off, so just make sure to stay still," he looks into your eyes, bracing you for the pain that you may endure from his work. 

  all you can do is nod as you close your eyes. it didn't take your mind off of his fingers wrapping around your skin. of the scent that he carries through the air, a mix of sweat and a sweet cologne. you can't even stop thinking of his gentle voice, whispering affirmations as he peels the sweatshirt off of your skin. 

  pain begins to ruminate within your upper arm, nose scrunching as you suck in air through your teeth. "just a minute more, i promise, love," iwaizumi maneuvers it around your arm, bunching it up by the wrist and widening the cuff to slide it off of your hand.

  "you hoping the nickname will take my mind off of it?" you joke, eyes still closed, mostly afraid of seeing him see the obnoxious smile on your face.

  "what?"

  "the nickname," your eyes open, looking over to him, suddenly feeling the cool air against your skin.

  clenching your jaw, you immediately feel uncomfortable about his gaze. he wasn't looking you over, but merely seeing you like this made your skin crawl. "oh 'love', sorry, i didn't mean it- it just kind of slipped out i guess," iwaizumi grabs one of his old shirts, knowing it would be large enough to get over your arm easily, "you're just comfortable to be around."

  he keeps his eyes from yours, cheeks growing red beneath his tanned skin. sitting in the silence, his hand brushes against your skin as he pulls the shirt through your arm. it tingles, skin standing on end from his touch. "it's a good thing i don't mind it then," you finally find the courage to say, biting the inside of your cheek.

  iwaizumi stops pulling the shirt through your other arm, pausing to fully take in your words. "i guess it is.." he responds, lifting the collar up over your head, grabbing at the shoulders and bringing it down to your neck. lifting his hands, he runs his hands through your hair just enough to save it from looking flat.

  standing in front of you, you lock eyes, both unable to look away. "i was thinking of ordering something in tonight, you alright with that.. love?"

  "i think ordering in would be lovely."
