the secret to life is always having something to look forward to
December’s a big month for us mystery VN enjoyers on the dashboard. We’ve got My injuries were so jolly I was Christmas for a month. We’ve got Almost Christmas means it wasn’t Christmas. We’ve got Santa’s got the gun. We’ve got The DL-6 incident. We’ve got the events of the entire plot of Ghost Trick.
the first rule of shipping is get aromantic with it. the second rule is that gender and sexuality are what i want them to be. the third rule is have fun and be yourself
I hate the fact that somewhere, out there, another interest that will change my life again waits for me to discover it but i haven't stumbled upon it yet. It's like a weird limbo
Hamlet. Hamlet, listen to me. Hamlet you gotta kill your uncle (message your friends). Killing your uncle (reaching out to your friends) is extremely vital to achieving your goals. You want to get revenge for your father (maintain your friendships). You want to kill your uncle (talk to your friends). You have the perfect opportunity right now because Claudius is defenseless (discord says your friends are online) so just kill the king (message them!!!!). Hamlet you're making excuses again. Hamlet if you wait too long this is going to end poorly. Hamlet-
uh oh Hamlet moment (driven insane by my own inaction despite the fact that i both need and genuinely want to do the things i am not doing)
Out of curiosity, did you ever watch My Next Life As A Villainess the anime? Or did you only play the game?
I love the anime, and that's the main reason I decided to play the game! :)
It's been about 2 years I think since I watched it, and I only picked up the game recently. I don't know if I would love the game as much as I do if I hadn't already been familiar with the story and characters lol. I kind of want to rewatch it sometime soon and maybe start reading the light novels when I have the money to buy them :)
I just started playing Lover Pretend because I needed to play something lighter as a break from Piofiore and oh my god this game is so CUTE. There's a very nostalgic feeling I keep getting while playing it, though I'm not completely sure where that comes from yet. Maybe the UI? It's super adorable and some elements of it kind of remind me of the DS games I used to play as a kid.
I'm currently on Chapter 2 of the common route, but I'm already looking forward to all 4 of the main routes. And Chiyuki is a really nice protagonist so far! I love that she has such clear-cut goals that she's focused on, and her relationship with romance is interesting too. I wouldn't necessarily call her aro like me, especially since one point of the game is that she wants to get over her "fear" of men and romance, but I always think it's nice to see an otome heroine who has more complex feelings about romance that make the plot more interesting. I doubt she'll be making it to the top of my favorite heroines list (Lynette and Teuta are hard opponents to beat), but she's definitely a contender so far.
tmgs is so fun like you can have COMPLETELY different experiences across playthroughs based on who you did and didn't meet. you can be bffs with sudo run 1 and just NEVER MEET HER run 2. you can get into a love triangle one run or just completely avoid it by not meeting anyone next time. one guy can be the bane of your existence one run but you can hide from him the next time
also like!!! the cool thing is that there are conversations between characters you know or times when characters will comment on what job and/or club you're in or how you do at them. it's soooo cool
yeah it seems really cool with all the random events!
I'm kinda hoping to avoid the love triangle thing in my first run, but I did run into an event with Kijyou and Fuji together at the mall so that may lead to something later... As of right now he's the only guy I've put any time into, but if that fails I honestly won't be disappointed to just go all in on the tennis club and hanging out with Sudo instead lol~
It's really neat how much there is to explore! I kinda love having so many options and needing to strategize to succeed rather than just picking dialogue options (like, I love the VN format too of course, but this is super cool, and feels more gameplay-oriented lol)
I'm Wren! I like otome games, rpgs, and mysteries! Feel free to reach out, as I'd love to chat! :)
