Join us from May 1st to June 30th for Otome Jam & Josei Jam, two visual novel-oriented game jams about making games for women.
Otome Jam gives you 2 months to make a romance game with a female lead (gender can be chooseable) and at least a partially male cast to date. Josei Jam gives you 2 months to make a game meant for women, regardless of romance or character genders.
General rules:
no specific themes for either - this year our banner was community-voted to be cyberpunk themed, but you can make an entry with any kind of aesthetics and themeing!
18+ content allowed
previously started games and brand new games are okay, but games finished before the jams start aren't allowed
visual novels and hybrid games allowed
These two jams are sister jams and run concurrently. New developers are welcome! We have a guide for new developers with lots of resources for making games.
Check out the itch.io pages above for more info.
tmgs is so fun like you can have COMPLETELY different experiences across playthroughs based on who you did and didn't meet. you can be bffs with sudo run 1 and just NEVER MEET HER run 2. you can get into a love triangle one run or just completely avoid it by not meeting anyone next time. one guy can be the bane of your existence one run but you can hide from him the next time
also like!!! the cool thing is that there are conversations between characters you know or times when characters will comment on what job and/or club you're in or how you do at them. it's soooo cool
yeah it seems really cool with all the random events!
I'm kinda hoping to avoid the love triangle thing in my first run, but I did run into an event with Kijyou and Fuji together at the mall so that may lead to something later... As of right now he's the only guy I've put any time into, but if that fails I honestly won't be disappointed to just go all in on the tennis club and hanging out with Sudo instead lol~
It's really neat how much there is to explore! I kinda love having so many options and needing to strategize to succeed rather than just picking dialogue options (like, I love the VN format too of course, but this is super cool, and feels more gameplay-oriented lol)
FEB 8TH!!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY ALLAN ๐ฅณ๐๐
dont be embarrassed about something u enjoy okย
Hello all,
I've decided to launch a big otome game survey, looking at most popular characters across several popular otome games (and whether there are any correlations in terms of people liking the same characters across multiple games). You can also vote for your favourite otome game among the options listed.
If you're interested in otome games, please do participate and reblog this post! You don't need to have played all of the games on the list in order to participant, just answer for any that you have.
The survey will close at 10pm (22:00) (UTC+1) on May 1st 2025 and I will publish the results sometime after.
Any issues with the survey just let me know in the replies on this post!
I forgot to upload it here, for all my Tumblr followers
Out of curiosity, did you ever watch My Next Life As A Villainess the anime? Or did you only play the game?
I love the anime, and that's the main reason I decided to play the game! :)
It's been about 2 years I think since I watched it, and I only picked up the game recently. I don't know if I would love the game as much as I do if I hadn't already been familiar with the story and characters lol. I kind of want to rewatch it sometime soon and maybe start reading the light novels when I have the money to buy them :)
name a more iconic thing to happen for the fictional qpr community than Donna Noble quite literally meeting her soulmate and being like hmm. there's no one I've ever wanted to fuck less
a talking point i often see when defending the consumption of dark content is that itโs a coping mechanism for those with trauma which is very valid and true but i also want to make this abundantly clear: you can like dark content for no reason. you can enjoy fucked up shit in fiction because itโs enjoyable and entertaining. trauma is not required as a ticket for entry. enjoy your dark content bc itโs fun and sexy and donโt let anyone take that away from you
I'm Wren! I like otome games, rpgs, and mysteries! Feel free to reach out, as I'd love to chat! :)
