TALK TO ME IN KOREAN IS ALL PAYED NOW!!!!
Do you have anything at all from TTMIK to share for free???????? I like they curriculum but I can't pay subscription. My parents won't give a cent for Korean. They think I will have more success and oportunities if I learn French or German. I would appreciate anything you can give me. Tnx a lot! Love ur blog!
Hey! Here ya go! You can begin with this (all levels are included): audio, textbooks, workbooks and stuff like that.
I also have few of their "kpop fan letters" and books like that. But I don't think it can help you much at the beginning.

Some of the MUJI notebooks I painted this summer; it’s bittersweet that I have to go back to UCLA soon and can’t paint any more until winter break :c
Late anniversary present for myself.
Gotta love a new TTMIK book.
It like a diary/planner.
Challenge for next month I think
🏡cottagecore dorm/small space ideas:
at least one cookie jar, even if you don’t bake. put store bought cookies in it. 100% guarantee it will bring happiness
a rug. rug hooking is fun and easy to learn also
plants! especially herbs! bonus points if they’re in cute lil pots
throws, pillows, and blankets for optimum coziness and homey feel
diy decor like pompom tassels, banners, knit/crochet/felted/macrame things to fill up boring walls (check your rules on hanging things first)
knick knack dish
soft lighting like a salt lamp or fairy lights
vintage pieces to display (old pyrex bowls, figurines, pictures, memorabilia)
wicker baskets/bins. idk they’re so quaint
cute stationary
a quilt. because quilts. also, bedskirts will generally hide any underbed storage from view
books, especially to educate yourself on hobbies and interests
mason jars are adorable, cheap, and make great storage
^enamel jars are easily thrifted and can hold bulk items
scented candles/wax burner (if allowed!)
cute patterned tea towels, oven mitts, and pot holders. i have a pair of oven mitts with chickens on them, 11/10 would reccomend kitschy kitchenware
listen I ended up regretting saying anything about this on my old blog because people will interpret literally any and every statement maliciously on this hellsite but I want to start like. a helpline for people who are like “hey I pretty much only read YA but I’m like 22 now and don’t relate to teenagers as much, it’s such a shame that there are no fun books written for adults :(” because boy HOWDY are there some fun books for adults
How do you take your picture? Like they are very aesthetic and the lightning is just really good adhfkgkjkgk !!!! Can you tell me any tips for the lightning ??? Thanks so much !!!
ahh thank you so much! currently i take all my photos using my dying iphone 6s! real talk tho, i’m terrible at editing pictures consistently :( i’m still learning and trying to nail down an aesthetic BUT!! i do have a few tips that i’ve picked up!
natural light is your best friend! i try and take all of my journal photos on the same white table i have set up next to bedroom window. i also usually take them somewhere between 9-10 am, which gives me slightly more consistent lighting that isn’t as harsh. experiment to find the best lighting of the day where you are!
move to the light! is your desk too far from your window? or is the best light somewhere else in the house? no problem, just pick up a sheet or something you can lay out as your backdrop and arrange your supplies wherever the light is best, whether that’s the living room by the french doors, your brother’s huge desk that he only uses for gaming, the dining room table…wherever dude! a white pillowcase is mobile and you can even carry your stuff in it lol.
edit brightness using the app snapseed! i upload the raw photo with no filters or edits to snapseed first, and i usually just let the curves tool do the lightening of the shadows in my photos for me. i think it washes out the whole photo less than just upping the overall brightness in like vsco or something.
only apply filters/color edits after you’ve adjusted your brightness! a lot of preset filters on apps like snapseed or vsco are going to automatically adjust the contrast, shadows, highlights, and temperature of your photo. you don’t want to spend time on an edit only to discover that when you change the brightness it suddenly looks funky. not fun :( also, always edit with your screen at max brightness so you can see clearly what you’re doing!
hopefully that was helpful, but i’m still learning as well! best of luck friend!
여러분 안녕! Hi again everyone! I got a request recently to do a lesson about 받침 rules, so here it is! For those who don’t know, 받침 refers to the ending consonants of a Korean syllable. I recommend that if you aren’t familiar with Hangul, that you check out my other Hangul lessons on my masterlist first before reading this one!
I made these charts because there are quite a few rules and irregularities about 받침. I also made a couple about consonant assimilation, which is basically how two or more consonants blend together/change to make a new sound. My lists are not exhaustive, but I think I included the most common rules.
Also! I recommend that if you want a more complete list that you check out Korean Wiki Project’s page about this! You’ll also notice that a lot of the examples I used are the same as the ones that they used, so I want to give credit where credit is due! I tried to include some common words that you might hear often, and it can also be difficult to think up of irregularities sometimes, so I just wanted to let you know why it seems like I copied and pasted a lot of the examples and I don’t wanna plagiarize lol. PLEASE go check their page out – it’s super helpful!
If you’re overwhelmed by these lists and a little worried about memorizing them, don’t worry about it :) Honestly, depending on how you learn best it might be most productive to just learn as you go and to listen closely to how native Koreans speak so you can pick up on those rules rather than forcing yourself to memorize them. That said, if you want clarification on how exactly things are pronounced, I hope these charts along with Korean Wiki’s website can help!
