helloooo :-]
13. A creator who you admire but whose work isn't your thing
I feel like a lot of musicians align with this category for me. They make music or an album that isn't my fav or something I'd typically gravitate to, but I can still relate to their creative experience. Which is like!! THE COOLEST!! That we all have this common ground to talk about across the entirety of human expression. For specifics, Jonathan Richman's music is good! But not my thing, yet I appreciate all his interviews about making art :)
20. Something everyone else finds hard to draw but you enjoy
Hands maybe?? I don't mind them! I've never been one to stress on anatomy or put pressure on myself to be accurate.
26. What's a piece that got a wildly different interpretation from what you intended
Uhm.. hm I'd say a lot of my old personal positivity comics about making art. Solely because they'd gain a bit of traction on twitter and the comments would turn to people being negative on themselves. & I would be like noooooo!! I made this because it's ok to make mistakes or just have fun and draw stupid shit!! I promise!! At the end of the day it was just sad to see and I wish I could tell people that things truly truly will work out and be ok.
29. Media you love, but doesn't inspire you artistically
UGH. I THINK ABOUT THIS ALL THE TIME.
My aesthetic interests do not align well with the work I make so I'm constantly in this limbo of wondering how people perceive me online via my art. Q Hayashida's work is probably where it's most apparent. I love Dorohedoro.. I love how gritty, dark and silly it feels!!
Mapmakers 3 is out TODAY!! Here's some of the pages I had the most fun coloring. Gorgeous lineart by @gldnmngo
