Here’s some advice I had about sigils, a fun and accessible way to make your life more magical! There was a lot I wanted to say so I hope it’s not too wordy.

the law — whatever you assume to be true is true — is always working for you, not against you:
- whether you assume you have or do not have your desire, you are correct.
- whether you assume you fail or win at everything, you are correct.
- whether you assume you get treated like trash or like a queen, you are correct.
- whether you assume everything works out for you or that the world is against you, you are correct.
no matter what it may be, subjectively good or bad, you cannot fail with the law. so, enough whining. step out of the victim mindset and start assuming the best for you in every aspect of your life. you, and only you, have the choice to win or lose in this reality you‘re in control of. happy manifesting!
When your living space is a mess, don’t ever look around and think you should have managed better. Don’t look at the chaos as all the things you should have done. Look around and think, “Look how exhausted I’ve been. I have been saving my energy to save myself and that is right.” And then ask yourself what is one thing you could do that would make you feel more at home in your space–one thing you can manage right now. If that’s fluffing up your pillows, if that’s putting the cups back in the kitchen, if that’s writing a list of fruit you haven’t had in a while and going out to buy it, if it’s picking up your laundry from the floor and putting it on the chair, if it’s wiping the dust off your crystals–that’s enough. Do what would help you now. It’s okay to be tired. It’s okay to be a mess. It’s enough to do what would help and leave the rest.
A Grimoire is a journal in which a witch or group of witches puts their research of all magickal related texts. Grimoire can be shared amongst certain families, or covens. Some people consider this sacred and share with nobody, whilst others happily share their works to help inform. The choice is up to you, if you even desire a Grimoire, and what you might wish to do with it.
Generally most practitioners use these terms interchangeably. However, if you research into their origins, you will discover that the first Book of Shadows was a book of information about demons and spirits by an anonymous author. This information is not to impose on anyone’s person uses of the term, but educate those who desire wisdom.
The earliest recorded written magical texts originate from ancient Mesopotamia in which they were inscribed on cuneiform tablets of Clay. The ancient Egyptians also employed magical incantations, which have been found inscribed on amulets and other items. The Egyptian magical system, known as Heka, was enormously altered and expanded after the Macedonians invaded Egypt during 332 BC at the orders of Alexander the Great. Under the next three centuries of Hellenistic Egypt, the Coptic writing system evolved, and the Library of Alexandria was opened.
Intentions:
Basic intentions such as Warding, Binding, Banishing, Charging, and Grounding are always worth research and writing notes on, even if they are quick and sloppy. These topics can really benefit any practitioner.
Birth Chart:
Did you know that each individual being has more than one zodiac sign? In fact, each person on this planet has a zodiac sign for each and almost every celestial body in our solar system.
Your Favorite Plants:
Are they a flower, herb, spice, tree, or a shrub? Are they an annual or perennial plant? What do they represent for me? What is their collective magical prosperities? Is it safe for pets or humans, why or why not?
Numerology:
Numerology is a form of Divination that reveals introspection into your soul, life, and potential healing, much like a Birth Chart. Each person inherits a Life Path Number, Soul Number, and Destiny Number and moment they are born.
Birthday Correspondences:
Do you know your birthstones? What about your astral Color, flower, or foods? What do these embody for you, as well as in common magic? What is your Numerology, or Birth Chart?
Daily, Weekly, and Monthly:
Time Magic is usually not what people imagine it is. Rather than forcing time to bend to your will, Time Magic often means working alongside it instead. Each hour of the day, day of the week, and month of the year have meanings.
Sabbats and Seasons
If Time Magic such as Daily, Weekly, or Monthly, overwhelms you or you simply don’t have time to practice in that manner, you can always look into the possibility of seasonal magic or working with the Wheel Of The Year.

When we think of a witch’s tools, we usually think of cauldrons, brooms, and jars filled with herbs. But for modern witches, one of the most powerful tools available is a blank journal. The journal can be an altar, a workspace, a diary, and a grimoire all in one.
One of the benefits of this type of magic is that it doesn’t require a lot of tools and materials. However, there are a few things you may choose to include:
A journal, notebook, or binder. Having a physical journal for your magical practice can help to ground your magic into the physical world. Find a journal or notebook that speaks to you — this could be a composition book from the dollar store, or an elaborate leather bound journal. I highly recommend using a physical book, but if you are unable to keep a physical journal dedicated to your witchcraft, you can absolutely keep one in a Google Doc, a Microsoft Word document, or the Notes app on your phone.
Colored pens, pencils, or markers. These are a great way to include the magic of color in your journal. (See this post for info on magical color correspondences.) Writing your spells in a color that matches your intention can add an extra layer of power.
Stickers, photos, and drawings. This adds a visual component to your written spells. Just like you add things to a physical ritual based on their magical correspondences, you can use images of those things to add energy to journal spells.
This method of magical journaling is based on an exercise from Lisa Marie Basile’s book, The Magical Writing Grimoire.
In the morning, before you start your day, write your intention for the day ahead. This should be written in the present tense, and phrased in the positive — it’s about what you are doing, not what you’re stopping or trying to quit. Your intention can be anything, mental, emotional, or physical. (For example: “I am opening myself to love in all its many forms.”)
In the evening, before you go to bed, write down what you worked on that day. This can be anything you did that you feel nourished you, and it may or may not be related to your intention from the morning. (For example: “I used mindfulness meditation to become aware of my own vastness.”)
Living with intention makes you more aware of your actions and can be a form of magic in itself. You daily intentions can become positive affirmations that you can repeat throughout your day, drawing strength from the words.
You can cast spells on the page of your journal, with nothing more than a pen and paper.
There are four basic parts to every spell: your will, your intention, focused energy, and a ritual action. All of these components can be brought into a journaling session. Your will is your personal magical and spiritual authority — you use your will simply by being aware of it. Your intention is a clear statement of what you want to get out of your spell — in journal magic, this is typically written on the page. By directing your attention to what you are writing, you are focusing your energy. And finally, a ritual action is any act performed in a ritualistic manner — in this case, that act is writing.
When casting a journal spell, it’s best to do your work in a quiet space where you won’t be disturbed. You might choose to light a candle or burn incense to help set a spiritual/magical mood, or you might not. I recommend meditating on your intention for a few moments before you begin, in order to help focus your energy.
What you actually write is up to you. It could be a simple, straightforward statement of intention, a detailed description of what you want, or even a poem. Feel free to experiment with different methods to see what feels right for you.
You can incorporate sigils, runes, and other sacred symbols into your journal, or use them as spells by themselves.
I’ve talked a little bit about runes in a previous post, but here’s a quick refresher: “runes” typically refer to the symbols used in Germanic alphabets before they were replaced by the Latin alphabet. The oldest Germanic rune system, and the one most widely used in magic, is the Elder Futhark. Other Germanic runic alphabets include the Younger Futhark and the Anglo-Saxon runes, which are both descended from the Elder Futhark. There are other alphabets that are used for similar purposes in magic, like the Irish Ogham. The use of these symbols in magic comes from the ancient idea that writing is inherently magical. Both the Germanic runes and the Ogham alphabet were believed to be sacred by the people who originally used them. Because of this, the runes aren’t merely letters — each symbol has a set of spiritual meanings associated with it as well.
The nice thing about runes is that, for the most part, we have a good idea of what they meant — so learning the runes can be as simple as purchasing a book and memorizing meanings. They’re also tied to ancient belief systems, which makes them a potent source of magical power.
You can use the runes in your magical journal in a couple of different ways. You can draw the appropriate runes in the borders around your spell, or write them over your spell in a different colored ink to add their power to your words. You can also use the runes alone as a form of magic. For this, speak or chant the name of the rune as you write it, and then spend a few moment focusing on it, visualizing your goal, and charging the rune with your intent.
Sigils are a little bit different. Unlike runes, sigils are created on the spot, so the meaning of a sigil is usually only known to the person who designed it. This means that, rather than learning established meanings, you’re creating a new magical symbol with a unique meaning every time you draw a new sigil. Because of this, sigils are directly linked to your will, which makes them powerful conductors of magic.
Here’s a common method for designing a sigil: Write a word or phrase that represents your goal or desire. Cross out all the vowels and/or all repeating letters. Now, use the remaining letters (the ones that haven’t been marked out) to create a design, adding artistic flourishes as you see fit. It’s okay to get creative with this, and it’s okay if the shape of the letters isn’t obvious in the final sigil. For example: if I wanted to create a sigil to manifest wealth, I might start with the phrase “I have more money than I know what to do with.” I then cross out all vowels and repeating letters, leaving me with, “v r y k w d.” Using the shape of these letters as a starting point, I create an artistic design that carries the intention of the original statement.
Sigils are usually used on their own to conduct magic. Draw the sigil in a color that matches your intention (for my wealth sigil, I would use green). As you draw, focus on your intent and feel your energy moving through the pen, charging the sigil. You can leave the finished sigil in your journal, tear the page out and place it on your altar, or display it somewhere you’ll see it often.
Sigils are especially useful for witches who need to keep their practice a secret, because they can be disguised as simple doodles.

"multiverse" - existence of alternate realities
spoiler warning : wandavision, doctor strange and the multiverse of madness.
if you have watched the movie MoM, you must have observed that every possible reality exists and there's an infinity of them. one where you were created out of blocks of cubes, another where you were paint. it's funny to think that in some reality, we might be aliens on another planet.
stephen strange happened to visit realities where christine never loved him and as always, he got friendzoned. those were his dominant assumptions in his reality. there might have been realities where christine and him got married but due to his assumption ( which many people commonly have about their sp ) that he isn't worthy of her love, he shifted to those realities where christine didn't love him.
moving onto wanda, she used her magical powers to make herself pregnant with twins while she was married to the android superhero vision. those magical powers were spells that she created but when they broke completely, her sons got erased from existence in her current reality and that was accompanied by her husband, vision getting dismantled. she desperately wanted to shift to a reality where she still had her sons and was living a happy, normal life because of the trauma of losing all of her loved ones. that turned her into scarlett witch. however, "shifting" to that reality came at a cost since she would be replacing the version of herself that was enjoying her life with her sons peacefully. she was no longer wanda, but scarlett witch. a hot yet scary villain.
In real life as well, alternate realities exist and switching realities is called "shifting". remember, how you wish you had said something different or done something else so that everything would have changed? you are switching realities with each word you say and each movement you make. but we don't notice it because of the way our minds are programed.
I made this post called "in defense of astrological timing," which I recommend if I do say so myself.
This post is full of my personal opinions and beliefs. This post does not intend to represent universal beliefs. This is really just about what I do and how I practice. YMWV.
I would like to propose that timing your magic, such as waiting for a certain day or hour to perform an operation, is a solution to the intersection of two problems:
1. "When I need magic, I need it now - I have no time to wait."
2. "I am often low-spoons and I have difficulty raising energy or performing intense magic on demand."
The tl;dr is this: sometimes astrological timing seems to be approached backwards.
It is often approached as playing catch-up to your own situation. "I can't delay in casting a spell, I need the magic now." Which is indeed a very valid argument.
Approached from the opposite direction, astrological timing is not a burdensome correspondence to tack onto a spell. Rather, it is revealing opportune times for you to gather and store power throughout the year, so that the next time a situation comes up, you've already had a huge head start in taking care of the problem.
This also assists those of us with limited personal energy (as I've begun to consider I am not a "low-energy" witch but rather one who uses their energy in the stupidest least effective ways possible).
For example, suppose a vital part of your sorcery is burning a special incense before each spell. Yes, you can make a whole bunch of the incense at once.
And if you enchant the incense, that takes your power. You're transferring energy out of your personal bank account in order to store it within the incense.
Three months later when there is a vital spell to be cast, you're making a withdrawal from the incense bank and putting that additional energy towards your spell.
Actions like this reduce the amount of personal energy we need to spend during typical workings of magic.
Suppose a spell requires 50 units of energy in order to successfully manifest.
Well, if I've been slowly storing up energy in certain things (like special waters, incense, stones, and so on), I can use up some of that stored energy during a spell.
If I have 30 units of energy saved up within special objects, I only need to raise 20 further units of energy during that spell in order to make it manifest.
I can expend my own personal energy to complete the quota. Or, I can go looking for some free-flowing energy and try to channel it in order to complete the spell.
BUT
1. What if I have no energy units saved up in objects and I have to raise it all within that moment?
2. What if the free-flowing energies I need aren't present at that exact time?
If you believe in the impact of astrological timing, then you may believe that certain energies are more available during some times than other times. A specific energy may not just be around in great enough quantities for you to haul buckets of it to your spell.
It's relatively easy to spend our own power when external powers aren't available, even when we don't mean to.
This may lead to situations where the energy units I need to complete a spell just aren't around, either because I failed to store up energy when I had extra, or because I'm casting the spell at a very unfavorable time.
If I don't have 50 free personal energy units, this greatly increases the chances that my spell will just fail - like a car with a drained battery that just won't start.
You might be saying, "but I don't necessarily have a total of 30 units of free energy to just tuck into objects. I might have like, 2 or 3 units of spare energy a week, tops."
NOW WE'RE BACK TO ASTROLOGICAL TIMING!
If you are able to look ahead towards particularly well-appointed timings, you can prepare substances (such as incenses and oils), objects (such as amulets and spell vessels), tools (such as charging boards and wands), and other magical paraphernalia far ahead of time.
We know all the future appointments, right? It's just celestial maths :) You can use websites to look up special conjunctions years ahead of time.
This means that you have as much time as you need to prepare. No rushing about an hour before the ritual!
When you bring a prepared physical vessel into a ritual at an especially powerful astrological time, huge amounts of specific, wanted energies can be captured.
So remember earlier, when I was talking about enchanting incense using your own power? Well, suppose you never intentionally use your own power for anything: you always attempt to channel external energies.
But we come into the same loop: it can be easy to spend your own energy on accident, and if the external energies aren't very present you either end up with a weakly enchanted incense mix - or you burn a lot of your own power being the battery, or widening your search for the energy until you find it.
During especially well-appointed timings, though, that energy is very present and much easier to capture. You have to work less in order to capture large amounts.
You can look for appointments for healing, banishing, the virtues of various astrological signs, wealth, love, and more. By preparing some physical vessel to be enchanted by these substances, you are gathering and storing great amounts of power throughout the year.
And now, now we come full-circle: a response to the first two problems posed.
1. "When I need magic, I need it now - I have no time to wait."
If you are able to work ahead to capture and store various energies, you will not have to wait for anything - you have already capitalized upon opportune timings and have them crystalized inside of physical objects for you to use when you need them.
2. "I am often low-spoons and I have difficulty raising energy or performing intense magic on demand."
Because capturing energies when they are more readily available is much easier, you may find it to be much less draining to capture energies at opportune timings.
Then, when it becomes time to cast a spell in the moment, you will have a collection of strongly empowered objects that will fill up your spell with power on your behalf.
Your spells will still take some of your personal energy, just like any activity, but probably a lot less of it.
I mean even if you're into it as a concept, it might not just be so easy to do, right?
If you're currently engaging in magical catch-up to ongoing or boiling-point situations, you might not have the time/energy/space to do a bunch of research on timings and then plan and prepare for a ritual, even one weeks or months away.
I don't mean to imply that it's easy or that everyone can just do it. I mean not all of us can carry around like 50 rocks or little pots of incense. Not all of us can rely on happening to have energy at some future date to perform a ritual at the exact time.
Moving into this modality of working ahead can also at times feel like stagnation: it can feel like planning and waiting instead of acting.
If you feel this might be something you're into, here are my suggestions:
Choose various "domains" of magic which are important to you: prosperity, love, defense, etc.
Slowly create or obtain vessels over time well-suited to capture energies from those domains, ideally using your hobbies if you can! A crochet bag or stuffie, a clay figurine, a painting, a song, any sort of physically creative hobby will do :) You can also modify candles, decorate charm bags, string beads, or even prepare thick cords to "tie up" available energies. I mean literally even a clear quartz with a bit of colored string tied on to identify it will do.
Start keeping an eye out for useful appointments. When one arrives upon you, see if you have the time/space/energy to perform a ritual to draw that energy into one of your vessels.
If you don't have the time/space/energy/interest (etc) in performing the ritual, ignore it and move on.
It is especially beneficial to empower small implements and ingredients you often use, so that your more common practices are less draining.
The following is pretty much UPG, unless I read it somewhere and forgot:
Initially imbuing a vessel with energy is best done on the most powerful appointment reasonably possible.
These vessels can be charged over and over again, capturing more and more power each time. Suppose the maximum energy you can capture in one empowerment ritual is 25 units. Well, you can perform the ritual again under the same auspicious timing to simply further power it, resulting in 50 units stored.
It is better to begin storing energy and do so at "minor" appointments over and over again than to put it off forever. Even if you wait for the most perfectest ever timing, you still may not have the ability, as a practitioner, to channel and store huge amounts of energy all at once. So waiting forever might be kinda pointless.
All vessels enchanted in this manner should be carefully stored so that the power doesn't leak out of them. They should not touch the earth, or else the power will go back into it. They can be wrapped carefully in black cloth and stored on a shelf. They should not be in the presence of salt, flour, iron, or other substances known to purify or break magical energies.
