One of the things I love about Vi in s1 is how unafraid she is of Jinx. Sure, she's afraid Jinx has done/will do bad things, but she isn't afraid to get in close. Jinx holds a mini gun to her face, and she knocks it away like it's not a big deal. She watches Jinx look like she's having fun trying to kill the firelights and she's not afraid of her, she's concerned about how much she's changed and goes to run towards her.

Jinx shot at her and caitlyn, set off all those firelight bombs on the bridge, but Vi still came running back to get her sister after she set caitlyn down. Jinx kidnaped her and had her tied up in the dark with her pistol, and Vi isn't afraid her sister is going to hurt her. She is afraid she'll hurt someone else. That she’ll leave. That she won't believe she loves her.

Sure Vi thinks she can "get powder back," but she still loves her even though this person she met after 7 years of being apart is so different.Vi defies everyone who says her sister isnt there anymore. Vi doesn't blame jinx for being how she is, she blames herself for not being there. She needs to be as close to Jinx as possible to let her know she doesn’t want to go anywhere.

At that tea party, even after everything that happened Vi is still asking Jinx to be with her. Telling Jinx the only reason she could keep going in prison is the thought of getting back to her. She's afraid of a lot of things but not her sister. Not of loving her. She's never afraid of loving her. She's afraid of losing her again. And when Jinx leaves her there, that's the beginning of the end for her.

She has all of this love for Jinx and gets rejected. She's left behind with only caitlyn to fill the void. The one thing that hasn't changed since everything else around her is different. The one purpose she had for 7 years was to get back to her sister, and it was shattered after Jinx rejected her. In s2 Vi is finally afraid to love her sister because she knows it might not be enough. That throws her whole sense of self off balance, and then Vi is clinging to anything to keep her grounded even if it goes against everything she's ever believed in.

I'm not into articles like these, but this had me cackling

Bro she was supposed to become her LoL character in season 2. That was the whole point of her development and trauma, she was MEANT to no longer give a fuck of it and do shit her way despite everyone else. She wasn't meant to be humanized the way she is and the fandom makes her be. She was my favourite female character because she doesn't give a fuck. If she wants to blow up a city, she will. Why? Because she just can.

El mod de Renee y Andrew no tiene sentido y voy a explicar el porqué.

He leído el reporte del mod de estos dos y aunque el escritor tiene una base esta no basta como justificación. Esto no se trata sólo de quitar de en medio a Ashley y al Sr. Graves que son los únicos seres más importantes en la vida de los involucrados sino que todo el episodio 1 de TCOAAL ocurre porque Renee VENDIÓ a sus hijos.

Por lo tanto no tiene sentido que Andrew y ella acaben encerrados en ese edificio si el esposo es feliz y no fue él ni Ashley quien los vendió. Además, ¿por qué lo haría el esposo? Si es feliz lejos de Renee y es un hombre sin ambiciones, además de que Ashley no tendría mente para una venganza como tal. Ella es más directa, no dudaría un instante en "salvar" a su hermano yendo directo al edificio.

ESE ES EL MAYOR FALLO DEL MOD.

Y por el cual no tiene sentido. Sin mencionar que es muy ooc que Andrew no haya planeado asesinar a Renee teniendo en cuenta que le quitó a su amada hermana, por mucho que le haya afectado el asesinato de Nina, ANDREW NO QUERÍA QUE LO SEPARARAN DE ASHLEY.

Y el que Renee los separase le generaría un ODIO INMENSO hacia la causante de su separación.

El verdadero Andrew estaría perdiendo los estribos con su madre cada segundo y en algún punto él mismo la ASESINARÍA o por lo menos se ALEJARÍA de ella. Joder, un verdadero fan del juego comprendería eso. Y dudo que el escritor del mod se atreva a esa realidad ya que se le nota la preferencia que le tiene a Renee (porque no, ningún integrante de la familia Graves tiene "cualidades redentoras", mucho menos Renee que es el origen de todo lo que está mal en esa familia, es la que menos de hecho).

Además las acciones de Renee en el mod siguen siendo una copia barata de Ashley por más que lo traten de tergiversar. Por lo tanto sin Ashley el juego no avanza de manera natural.

En fin, se vale fantasear y jugar con la creatividad.

Yo sólo señalo lo que no me termina de cuadrar del mod.

De hecho pienso que Andrew estaría buscando desesperadamente un reemplazo de Ashley y yo estaría segura que ahí es donde entraría Julia. ANDREW PREFERIRÍA ESTAR CON JULIA ANTES QUE CON SU MADRE YA QUE ELLA NO LE QUITÓ A ASHLEY. Y es entonces cuando la manipulación que Andrew ejerce sobre Julia cobraría mucho más peso, porque entonces él tendría carta libre para convertir a Julia en Ashley.

Sinceramente, en este universo absurdo Julia tiene más posibilidades con Andrew, no Renee. NUNCA Renee.

Y si tanta es la necesidad de redimir a Renee, ¿no tendría más sentido que se esforzara por cuidar de sus dos hijos ya que se ha dado cuenta de su negligencia? ¿Por qué solamente Andrew? ¿No la hace eso aún más hipócrita e irredimible?

También noté que el creador cree que Renee tiene preferencia por Andrew porque se molestó en darle educación, bueno pues esto es falso. Todas las acciones de Renee son hechas por conveniencia, para no ser vista como mala madre. En un reporte del juego oficial se nos da entender que Andrew llega a trabajar en un punto y Renee incluso le pide prestado. Más que tener preferencia por él, parece más bien que lo ve como fuente opcional de dinero.

Y no olvidemos que ese mismo reporte Renee lo ve como una decepción, porque aparentemente no cumplió con lo que ella quería de él.

Honestly, I don’t get how people can watch everything Ashley puts Andrew through and still think she isn’t the worse of the two right now. And saying she’s worse doesn’t mean Andrew gets a free pass, far from it, but come on, she absolutely wrecks him in episode 2 and especially in Decay. She’s the one who pushes him to the edge and breaks the promise she made back in episode 1. Every time someone tries to reason with Ashley or calm her down, she just doubles, even triples down. It’s the same cycle over and over: promises to change, only to spiral even further.

Now, if we’re talking about before episode 1, sure, Andrew was a total asshole and definitely played a big part in how Ashley ended up. But seriously, try raising a traumatized kid while being neglected yourself and see how well you turn out.

You are fundamentally misunderstanding what makes Andrew tic as a character, WHY he'd rather die than be separated from Ashley no matter how awful she gets, and why those two things make people go "He's just as bad as his sister, maybe even worse"

Andrew's entire inner struggle can be explained by his thoughts on Julia after she breaks up with him "You'll never see her again, and the fact that it doesn't bother you bothers you."

Unlike Ashley, Andrew has at least some understanding of what a normal, healthy, GOOD person does or doesn't think/feel/do. But he still has all the same petty, immature, selfish, possessive, controling, manipulative and violent impulses Ashley has.

That's why, no matter if the player is making Andrew stand up for himself or revert back to Andy, the parents and the campers still die, because Andrew resents the former and doesn't care about the latter. Why his relationship with Julia is doomed, and why he'll get furious at the very thought of Ashley being with someone else. Why Ashley's obviously fake tears still convinced him to leave Nina, a girl he knows is asmathic and has clearly heard said the words "I can't breathe", locked up in a dusty box all night.

Despite knowing better, he still goes along with all the vile things Ashley wants - because even though he knows it's wrong, some sick part of him either doesn't care about these people (and thus doesn't care what Ashley puts them through) or actively ENJOYS their suffering just as much as his sister does.

Ashley is a chaotic, impulsive, reckless type of evil, and thus acts on impulse. Andrew is all about PREMEDITATED evil. He doesn't really "snap" and "get pushed too far" or even "gives into pressure/manipulation" that often. Most of the time he's making the conscious choice to ignore what he knows it's right. He doesn't care about the harm he causes, but he knows he should, and that brings him shame.

That's why in Burial, if he embraces the "Ashley and me VS the world" mentality, he is SO calm with all the vile things he's doing, that even his sister is shocked, and both demons/entities take an interest in him (as he likely "hatches" into a Tar Soul like Ashley in that route, instead of being just a grime one like in Decay, wich we explicitly know is all about self-perception - aka despite lack awareness of most things, Ashley was the only one between the siblings, up to that point, to not kid herself about the evil they did).

That's why Ashley doesn't just break her promise about never mentioning Nina again, but also points out that Andrew chose to kill her too.

Being "the doormat" that is simply "too weak willed" to tell Ashley no is far more comfortable for him than admiting that, even if she had never been born, even if he had been an only child, he would still be a terrible person, and would actively seak out someone like Ashley so he'd have someone who can understand and accept him.

"Snapping" at her only when she (admitedly) does horrible things to him that no one else would tolerate gives him a way out of acknowledging that there's a part of him that, no matter how much he loves Ashley, genuinely wants to hurt her simply because he's a monster too, not because of anything she did.

That's why he's so codependent to the point of killing himself right after murdering her - she's a terrible sister, friend, girlfriend and partner in crime, but she's still the scapegoat. If she's not around anymore, Andrew will run out of excuses, and in Decay he'd rather die than accept responsibility. In Burial? We'll see.

"Ashley is worse than Andrew" is and has always been bullshit. They're both violent, controlling, possessive, manipulative, and abusive towards each other in every way imaginable (verbal, psychological, physical, sexual). They're the exact same. And Andrew is well aware of it because, to some extent, Ashley is his creation as much as Renee's. And while he knows that should be tragic for several reasons (including the fact that he couldn't have been expected to act differently since he was just a child too) there's some part of him that is PROUD of having damaged his sister that much.

That's why he'll say things like "you're the most alluring thing I've ever laid eyes on", or mentally gush about how "his" Ashley summoned a demon on her first try, beat her to break her down even more, or actively use their feelings for each other to get her to fall in line, just like she does with him.

Andrew doesn't want Ashley to be "better", despite seeing all the harm she causes to everyone - including the two of them. At some point, he went from "Innocent child that should have never been raising another child, especially one like Ashley, because he's obviously unfit for the job and will accidentally enable her" to "Bastard that is actively shaping his sister/girlfriend to be the perfect scapegoat/partner in crime."

If she weren't exactly what she is, Andrew would have gotten rid of her a long time ago, like he did with all their victims.
