“Men come West for one of two reasons, they’re looking for something, or something is looking for them. Which are you?”…
…“Looking for something,” he says.
The Sheriff tilts her head back, looking down her nose at him. “What’s your name.”
“Percy Jackson.”
“Well Mister Jackson, you’re full of shit…”

The Chase cousins decide to try a double date, after everyone is done with midterms and there’s a little down time. Unfortunately, demigods.

I cried four times at work today because it was my fifth graders’ last day at our school and tomorrow is my last day at my current campus, so I decided to fic in order to not cry more. Also, these two couples are way too funny not to put together.

Annabeth forgets that Percy is sleeping next to her.
Annabeth forgets that Percy is naked in the bed next to her.
Which is why, when she rolls over and runs into something solid and warm, she wakes herself with a yelp and half falls off the bed.
“Wuzza – ‘Beth?” Percy sits up, throws an arm around her waist, and hauls her back onto her bed. “Why are you slapping me awake?”
“I didn’t mean to,” she replies, feeling her face burn red. “I kind of forgot you were here.”

need a full body massage a margarita 400mg of ibuprofen a plate of brownies at least an hour in a jacuzzi and 20,000 dollars cash
Look, this is probably going to end up as an unpopular post, because God knows the level of brainrot capitalism and fast consumption caused in people's brains, but I'd rather not get TV shows for a while if it means writers get their rights defended and recognized.
Entertainment can't come at the cost of fair pay, healthy work environment and ethical practices.

There’s a tree on the west side of the island, settled into a little copse where it can catch the last rays of sunlight as they settle over the ocean.
It’s Percy’s favourite place on the island. It’s in pretty tough competition with his yaya’s restaurant and the spring above the church and Icarus jump point where he got his first kiss from Annabeth. But this tree is pretty special because it’s where he spent many evenings of his adolescence laying with his girlfriend in stolen hours as they made out or did homework together or dreamed out loud about their futures together away from their imposing families. During that first summer, much to Grover’s chagrin, Percy had taken a penknife to the trunk of that tree and carved his and Annabeth’s initials there.
Five years later, he is happy to see the letters are still there.
“It’s not like they would go anywhere,” Annabeth argues, ever logical.
Percy shoves her. “Shut up, smart ass.”

i wanna share with y'all a great thing that happened in my city yesterday. early in the morning, ICE tried to kidnap an undocumented man while he was leaving for work with his son in the car. this man had no warrant and no criminal record, and had lived in his home with his family for the past 14 years. these ICE agents, un-uniformed and in unmarked cars, blockaded this man’s driveway, while he and his child sat locked in their van, for 4 hours. (obviously this isn’t the good part.)
the man’s neighbors were the first to gather and confront ICE. phone calls were made, and dozens of local organizers, lawyers and activists showed up, in addition to more neighbors. they bought gas and siphoned it into the man’s car so he could keep the AC going. they passed water and food through the car windows. the city government was flooded with calls, and a few city council folks showed up in support of the man.
and ICE left.
the man’s neighbors & the activists formed a human chain around the car so the man and his son could get back into their house. and later, his whole family was escorted to a safer location.
today, that man is still with his family. his children, though undoubtedly shaken and scared (especially the son who was with him the whole time, and was so frightened he threw up at one point) still have their father. one of the neighbors said: “they picked the wrong neighborhood on the wrong day” and “I know they’ll be back, and so will we.”
I know a ton of posts get shared about doing this exact thing, but i want you to know that IT WORKS. community works. so please, above anything else, get to know your neighbors. keep an eye out for each other. don’t let people disappear. keep each other close, keep each other safe.
you bottle Miette??
People in Gaza have been saying this would happen since the very start, as soon as the occupation started corralling everyone into the southern part of the strip they said this would happen. We watched it happen as the “safe” zones grew smaller and smaller and every time Rafah was targeted by air strikes even before this. And no one who could actually stop this lifted a finger. It’s been 129 days.
Please reblog, this is so important.
