Summary: Logan is tired of being ignored and silenced.

Logan stared at the others as they argued.

"Virgil, I think we should-" Virgil cut him off.

"Not a good time, L." Logan turned to Patton.

"Patton, please listen to me-"

"We can't logic our way out of this one, Lo, I'm sorry." His final choice was to turn to Thomas.

"Thomas, maybe we should-"

"Logan, let them handle this one, okay? This isn't really your thing."

Logan felt hot tears burning his eyes. He glanced down at the cuts on his wrists. Nobody noticed the marks. He pulled out a notebook and pen and began to write.

By the time you read this, I will likely be gone. I am so sorry I was such a burden on you all this time. I understand now that I was useless from the beginning. You do not need me, and I know it now. That why I have done this. There must have been a reason you ignored me. What I said was not important. I was not important.

The pain grew to be too much. I do have feelings, and it hurts so bad. Do not blame yourselves for what I've done. It's my fault, not yours. I should have known sooner I didn't matter. I'm sorry.

He tore the page out of the notebook. But before sinking out, he tried one last time to make Thomas listen.

"Thomas, I really think you should listen to me-"

"Logan! We don't need you right now!" Thomas was growing impatient. That stunned Logan.

"Yeah, Microsoft Nerd, we never needed your opinion!"

"Shut up, nerdy wolverine."

"You just aren't important, Logan," Janus said. "You're useless to them. They hate you." Logan didn't know then that Janus was being Janus and lying.

The words stung, like being shot over and over again.

"Whatever! It doesn't matter to me anyway! I'll be dead by dawn!" He held up the note. "I'll be dead by dawn!" He sunk out.

"'I'll be dead by dawn?' What does that mean?" Patton asked.

"I don't know," Roman answered. Janus thought about it. He thought about the note Logan held and the marks on his wrists and the last words he said, and he gasped.

"Oh my God!"

"What?!" Thomas asked.

"He said, 'I'll be dead by dawn.' Don't you get what that means?" The other sides shook their head except for Remus.

"Oh God no. Logan!"

"I don't get it," Virgil said.

"He's going to kill himself! He was holding a suicide note, and didn't you see the cuts on his wrists?"

The reality of the situation sunk into the sides, but it was just a moment too late when it did. They were just a moment too late when they broke down the bathroom door.

virgil who acts so calm when he’s done something wrong and you’re trying to call him out on his bullshit. it’s like talking to a motherfucking brick wall because all he’s saying is “i’m sorry i made you feel that way.” “i didn’t intend for my words to come across like that.” “maybe you could confront me nicely next time so we can have a civil conversation.” eventually you get so worked up you scream and yell and now he’s playing the victim card. “you screamed at me when i was being kind and listening to your words!!” “you were being completely unfair!!” and all his friends back him up. roman says “why were you being so harsh? virgil apologized, you should’ve accepted it and moved on.” “come on man, he was agreeing with you, stop being so sensitive.” 

I felt that. I literally know how that feels. Back in 7th grade we were reading about the holocaust. I was born in Germany and raised there until right before my 7th birthday. I was never ashamed of being from Germany and was proud of being from there. I never bragged about it because I didn't care whether or not people knew.

We were reading "Parallel Journeys" if I remember correctly. This kid, let's call him Brock, stood up and yelled "All germans are corrupt." And nearly everyone in class knew I was a german so they looked at the teacher. She, let's call her Ms. Soul, just said only the jews aren't corrupt.

Everyone looked at me and waited for my reaction. I just looked at the table ashamed. My teacher continued on with the lesson.

Just remembered that time some old white lady in North Carolina cursed me out and threatened me because I'm from New Jersey.

I literally didn't do shit to her. I was lost in a Walmart looking for a Christmas present for my cousin and she came up to me and asked me what I was looking for.

"Oh, I'm looking for a present for my cousin."

Her whole demeanor changed when I spoke cause of my accent (I know I have a very strong New Jersey accent, people tell me all the time).

"Are you from New York?"

"No, I'm actually from New Jersey."

She just started cursing me out, calling me a Yankee and shit. I'm just standing there so confused trying not to cry. Normally, I would've cursed right back at her, but I was too shocked. So I just stood there.

What am I even supposed to say to that? I was just so confused. She literally said, "Go die, Northern trash" to me. How am I supposed to respond to that?
