Aaron Rodgers just praised Simone Biles for speaking on mental health and voicing her support all the way.
In an interview Friday with The Ringer, Rodgers credited Biles’ ability to speak freely about her mental health and advocate the same for others.
Via CBS Sports:
“I give Simone so much credit for her ability to speak the truth, her truth, and to answer tough questions, and to have the courage to say, ‘I’m scared’ and 'I don’t feel like I should be out there,’” Rodgers said. “She’s the greatest gymnast of all time. And mental health [awareness] is an issue that is continuing to break down the stigmas that don’t allow us to talk about it or only allow us to talk about it in a super negative, depressive, suicidal way.
"People of all ages and all professions are dealing with mental issues, especially during COVID… it’s something we should be talking about and ways to help people get through it, whether it’s techniques or therapy or just conversations letting people know they’re not alone. And that’s what Simone did. I’m very, very proud of her.”
Biles, who withdrew four finals for mental health reasons, was seen supporting teammates Suni Lee, MyKala Skinner and Jade Carey throughout the process that ended winning the Olympic bronze and silver with the team completion without the gymnast.
As CBS notes Rogers, claims, have higher platforms to deliver important messages such as mental health advocacy Biles has spoken extensively on that subject these games, doing everything from what the “twisties” are to outlying her personals struggles that issue.
“Well, we should keep talking about it,” Rodgers said. “Keep talking about ways that we individually deal with stress and deal with anxiety and deal with pressure and deal with depression or loneliness. I think that would really help. Because we, whether we like it or not, have a platform to influence people.
"And our words are often listened to more than the person who’s not in the public eye as much. So we have an opportunity – not an obligation, an opportunity – to maybe share some of our own ways of dealing with things and break some of the stigma around mental health.”
Biles has a trend in Rodgers who has “gotten to know her a little bit at times over the years,” hopes continues.
Oh my. This is so beautiful. It just makes me so happy. From Facebook.

I’ll probably be doing this all day. (In two time zones!) Scroll on by if it drives you crazy. But it’s Greg’s birthday today. I’ve always “enjoyed” ELP, (I knew all of their albums in HS and wore out my LP of the then brand new “Love Beach” and played the cassette repeatedly in my car at top volume... “Taste of My Love” was an aphrodisiac for this HS girl) but for some reason, I grew obsessed with them during lockdown. Particularly Greg. I was fortunate enough to see him with Emerson Lake and Powell in the 80s (with both my mother and mother-in-law who were drooling over Keith, lol) I saw ELP in the 90s, and Greg with Keith later in that decade. (And Carl with ASIA and his ELP Show.) I’ve become an amateur expert and sleuth over everything Greg since March. I love every crabby look, every velvet jacket, every close-up eyelash photo and shaggy hair and bare chest picture. I love him as a beautiful child and as a handsome father and with Regina, his lovely wife. I love his sexy pictures and his pictures with his family. I love the audio files (thank you to all of you Tumblr peeps who share them!). His voice is better than chocolate. His giggles make me shiver. And oh...the gifs! No one in the universe looks as sexy with a cigarette in his mouth! He’s the most adorable racecar driver, ever. His hands, alone, make me melt into a puddle. And when he gets into his “bass face”...holy crap. I’m done. So...I’m going to try to honor him in a respectfully obsessive way, today with lots and lots and lots of pictures. In no particular order....Happy Birthday Mr Lake. I hope your family is able to have some peace on this day. I miss your voice and your face and your music. A lot.

I have to end the year by thanking all of you who like and reboot and respond to my obsessions. You truly saved my sanity this year. And thank you all for helping me to further understand the amazing diversity that exists in our world. My students, friends and colleagues will all benefit from what I’ve learned about neurodoversity and sexuality. This is such a brave and welcoming community, and I wish you all a very happy, and healthy New Year.
For purely selfish reasons, here’s some pics of the boys that made my year sparkle:
I rediscovered Jack! I listened to him constantly in college and spent this summer re-obsessing.
ELP. I’ve loved them for more years than I’d care to admit to. This is the year they really became part of my DNA.
They all look so happy here. Their silly goofyness makes my heart happy.
Carl. He is utterly beautiful here. My lord.
This is a favorite picture for so many reasons. They both look beautiful. Greg is just so heartbreakingly sweet, and he’s got a huge pupper in his lap.
Keith. In white. Smoldering. No other explanation needed.
Finally, my heart. The loss is still a fresh open wound.
