the only sound in the room was her soft breathing as she slept. it was one of my favourite sounds in the world. 

I held my arms around her as she lay on top of me, in a deep and peaceful sleep. she looked so relaxed, and I couldn't help but admire her.

“you're so gorgeous when you sleep darling,” my voice was barely a whisper, not wanting to wake her, but I needed to say it. regardless of whether or not she could hear me, I was going to tell her.

I gently stroked her hair as she slept, feeling the soft strands between my fingers. she was always so beautiful, but especially when she slept. 

“I love you so much baby, so so much,” I continued to softly and quietly talk to her in her sleep, not expecting an answer, but still talking anyway. 

whenever she fell asleep on me, my eyes never left her. she was my everything, and I couldn't bring myself to look away, even for a second. her breathing filled the room, it being in slow and even breaths, and a small smile crept onto my face.

“you're so beautiful love, i love it when you sleep on top of me,” I continued playing with her hair as she slept, feeling her chest rising and falling against my body, her arms loosely around me. I continued to look down at her, falling more and more in love with her with every second I spent looking at her.

the way her arms felt around my body. the way she always had one leg up when she slept. the way she occasionally mumbled. the way her hair was always perfect and soft. the way her entire body was close to me, not leaving even an inch of space between us. everything about her made me go crazy for her.

“I love you so much darling, so so much. I know you won't hear this right now, but you mean everything to me,” as quiet as my words and voice were, I couldn't have been more honest and true with them. 

I felt her stirring slightly, wondering if she had started to wake up, but when she went still again after a few moments, I knew she was still asleep. I kept stroking her hair and tracing her skin, loving the way it felt under my fingers.

after a few more minutes, she stirred again, and I continued to look down at her as she slowly opened her eyes, looking up at me.

“you have a good sleep love?”
