Yesssss! Also Keep In Mind That, Like Alot Of Times They Do Things In The Show, Its Because 1) The Calls

yesssss! also keep in mind that, like alot of times they do things in the show, its because 1) the calls are in remote areas that wouldn't be under jurisdiction of a cavern authority, or 2) (the big one) the cavern authorities can't do it/can't be trusted to do it. Think every time w blakk, or the game master, or Munch and CC respectively who scared off all the locals, or Futuria cavern, where quentin possessed new tech they couldn't beat; and even in the later era, and in the east, they fought off general bad actions, but especially those that were evil on their power level (dai fu, emperor, goon, the crystal monster, and so on). they're like, special operations/the rebels against the evil political force lmaoooo

aaaaaaaand, if you ever need a historical reference for how law is kept in this lawless outlands, look up stuff about the american wild west. It think theres alot of great comparisons with how small towns/counties operated in the 19th/early 20th century to how the caverns do in slugterra.

thanks for mentioning me i feel so famous :)

i always wondered, shane gang but a murder mystery? i mean, there is alota crime realistically people could be dying, if not them, who handles that?

:O

This was actually rambled about briefly before, and I'm kinda exploring it is a fic I'm working on rn,

But i think the general idea is that each individual Cavern Authorities deals with it.

If the Shane Gang where to happen on the crime, either the aftermath or as it's activity happening depending on the crime the outcome would be different as to how it's dealt with.

Petty theft? Don't worry! Shane Gang is on it!

Kidnapping? Depending on the situation, they would work with the Cavern Authorities or be on standby if needed, though unlikely.

Murder??? report what they know and offer assistance in dealing with the case until they are no longer needed or have to move on to the next mission. But still keeps tabs on it.

Serious offenders being shipped off to Stalagmite 17

Ultimately though, it's heads or tails, remember the Unbeatable Master was technically murdered by Blakk and he faced no legal repercussions for that.

The Caverns, as my good friend mrros-e would say, is a lawless outlands.

Each settlement has its own rules and regulations that are enforced to various degrees by those in charge.

So the Gang can take down a murderer, but it would ultimately be up to the Caverns legal system and Authorities to deal with the aftermath.

this actually opens up quite a world of potential. C.C., in the trade, really makes it seem like he was chill being a good duelist but then saw the writing on the wall and wanted to be on the winning side of things (not unlike twist???). But maybe, after trying to be super chill w his coworkers but also seeing some of the inner workings he's like "wait....maybe I can be famous and have fun some other way, I don't think this world they're building would let me be that prominent a figure" he changes sides. I don't see him living w the gang, or even changing sides that long before s2's finale, but as a rich guy going w the flow, having a tiny little, lukewarm change of heart? He could absolutely end up on the good side, and once he's there in a shallow way could realize "oh these kids got a heart and soul, it's kinda nice actually", and start having a bit of a backbone!

Also I'm so real, I could see Mario and C.C. having a friendly duel rivalry? Mario, charismatic and a marksman to the bone. C.C., rich and also in the public eye, who may fare better with team shooting matches. For all we know, maybe they DID have a rivalry pre-Mario's pizza era. fuck it, will x Blakk is mainstream and CC x Mario enemies to lovers is the true rare pair -

Going back to Eli giving people a second chance( like twist and tad) I want C.C to also be redeemed. Why because 1. He is a really good slinger and 2. He would give the Shane gang info on old buildings that Blakk used for ghouling slugs.

And if he were to be in the Shane gang how would that play out?

Oh my gosh-

I think everyone(minus Eli) would be, suspicious.

If C.C. decided, "Oh yeah, hey, you know what, Blakk is actually insane, I need an out like NOW" and the joined the Shane Gang, I think the distrust will play out differently depending on when he joins up with them.

If C.C. joins Pre The New Kid, Kord, Trixie and Pronto are going to be sus of him. Because you know what, C.C. literally did side with Blakk for the paycheck, and the power, so him suddenly switching sides is, you know, suspicious. Eli obviously, isn't all that suspicious of C.C. and genuinely thinks the older Slinger is trying to be a better person.

If he joins post The New Kid, no one, is having it, especially if the switch happens post Lightwell.

They got betrayed, so badly, that it's hard for the Gang to trust someone they don't already know, and are positive won't work for Blakk willingly.

Eli is hesitant it trust C.C. after everything without Twist, and after what happens to Burpy. But if he can see C.C. being sincere, and actually want to fix things, he'll entertain C.C. joining them on missions, but not living in the Hideout, till everyone is on the same page.

And when they do finally trust C.C. it's honestly nice having a former pro circuit Duelist on the team.

(Add another brother to the list for Eli, lmao)

C.C. is also apparently a Nepo baby, as in, he's rich, so, excuse to see his rich family, and him casually just, pay for things like the Gang isn't living reward payout to reward payout.

And yeah, before leaving Blakk Industries, the guy is getting his hands on anything and everything of use he can, from Blaster and Mecha mods, to every piece of data he can download to help expose and bring Blakk down.

back to Slugterra Mode before the Met game for a sec

Daily reminder we never see any farmers in Slugterra, and there's only so much Slugterra terrain that isn't shadow clan territory, so when there isn't a canon cavern in any specific region I'm just assuming that's where they make food.

So: ive headcanoned that Trixie comes from a farming village since season 1.

anywho, time to have a heart attack for at last 9 innings.

the only reason we won is because of divine intervention or something

the entire game felt like I was watching a child playing around on some high ledge and I just had to trust them to not fall but WE STILL DID IT METS WON BBY

also, was there a snake in the Dodgers Dugout?!?

its such an undertaking, plus there like no canonical info to go off of. legit alot of what i know is from one-off lines about "it took 3 days to get to futuria cavern!" and such, how often the gang goes somewhere, and other bits of inferenced info. the most pressing problem, though, is sluterra's geography.

some cavers are UNDERNEATH others. this is the underground. It's hard to decide whether a cavern is next to another, or under/over it.

theres CONFLICTING INFO. the mobile games have a few maps, and from what little map graphs we get from the show, those ALSO don't line up. it seems like going from scratch and deciding geography based on what the characters/plot tells us of the caverns is our best bet, and from there, we decide which mapping is most accurate.

so much work. I'll do it...after i finish shanes get hurt on ao3 tho, everyones been waiting for that lol

comparison of book thicknesses. First is a thin book, possibly a novella, labelled, "idea you start out with." Next is a stack of three very thick volumes, each of which would be larger than a dictionary. This stack is labelled, "shit you need to research, make decisions about, write and then edit out, etc." Last is a book that is thicker than the initial one but is about typical novel size. It's labelled, "story that takes the reader on the journey you want them to take"

memes are fun and relatable and all that, but don't let them discourage you. all of that stuff that doesn't make it into the final product is part of how the final product gets made

SAME

But having a map would be so USEFUL for writing fics and analysing more of the culture of Slugterra, and I really think w enough time and rewatching one could make a decent map. Just...ugh, TIME. My head hurts too. So I just...avoid geography till I have the time to uncover it.
