Modern AU Uncle Arthur sometimes picks up little Jack Marston from school in his big ol’ pick up truck because John is still a bit of an absent father at the time and Abigail is working hard to make up for John’s slack. The bumper is covered in embarrassing bumper stickers and there are also decals on the back window. The windows are drawn down by those hand cranks and the seats are made of worn, splitting leather. There’s always a fishing tackle box shoved behind the passenger seat along with his fishing pole because “you never know when you’re gonna need it, Jack.” He is always BLASTING some wild ass country music while he’s waiting for Jack to get out of school. His favorite song is “Before He Cheats” by Carrie Underwood and you bet your ass he knows every goddamn word to it. Jack is mortified when he comes out of school to see Uncle Arthur screaming “- and i DUG MY KEY INTO THE SIDE OF HIS - “ with the windows down for everyone in the school parking lot to hear.
