Mammon x Reader (Promise)

Warning: Angst, Hatred

Throwing his jacket in a random direction in his room, Mammon runs a hand through his hair before letting himself fall onto his bed. It's not the comfiest bed he's gotten, not that he often sleeps on it, but this time, it's as if the mattress is lulling him to sleep, the temptation to just close his eyes. But he doesn't. No, he can't.

Rolling onto his back, he puts his right arm in the air and looks at his hand, more specifically his pinky finger. The finger you placed your promise upon.

"I will never leave you, Mammon. I promise."

Those were your words and yet... Mammon lets out a sigh and puts down his arm, eyes staring at the empty ceiling. After you left, he was hurt. So, so hurt. His heart aches for you but he can never see you ever again. Tears well up in his eyes but he blinks them back, refusing to look weak even though there's no one else with him. He feels as if you'd judge him from afar.

The Great Mammon feeling hurt by a human. It's such a ridiculous thought to him and yet here he is, turning that statement into real life.

"You promise?" Mammon looks at the human, his human.

You nod, smiling.

"Lies." Mammon whispers, gritting his teeth.

"I promise."

"Lies!" He sits upwards and unconsciously turns into his demon form out of anger.

Realizing his own form and anger, he turns back to his normal self and hugs his knees. If he were to push away what little pride he has left, he'd pray to his own father and kill himself which would send him back to the Celestial Realm.

What did he do wrong? Where did it all began? How did he... Lose you? So many questions flood his mind, swirling around like a tornado but none can be answered other than you but you're gone. He could've ask you if given the chance but he refuses to and he regrets it bit by bit. Every. Single. Day.

"Damn it..." Mammon's voice crack, his shoulders slightly shaking. "Damn it! Fuck!"

He punches his pillow, the soft cushion harshly hitting the wall. "How fucking stupid..."

His heart aches so much. He wants to see you so much but he just can't. He refuses to.

Walking through the halls of RAD, Mammon hides a small gift box behind his back. He plans to surprise his human with an item he had bought with his own money that he worked on. He can't wait to see the happiness on your face. After all, he loves the bright smile on your face and every time you give him a smile, even if it's just a small one, he's just falling more and more for you. Truly, he is in love.

Just as he was about to enter your class, he hears your conversation.

"Yeah, Mammon's so annoying and so fucking stupid, I mean, did he really think that I actually like him? Bitch, please. He's just head over heels over me." Your laughter is heard.

Mammon takes a moment to process your words and when he finally does, overcome by wrath, he barges into your classroom. A look of shock and horror is displayed on your face but Mammon couldn't care less. He threw the gift at the floor near you and clenches his fists.

"If ya fucking hate me so much, then tell me straight to my face! Here I thought that yer' sincere and aren't like my brothers at all but I was so fucking wrong!"

"Mammon, I-"

"No, shut yer' fucking mouth, ya' lowly piece of shit! I don't want to see ya' anymore! If I see ya', don't think I'll beat the shit outta ya'!"

"Fine! Just get out of my sight, scumbag! Your brothers were right about you!"

From that moment on, he avoids the human. It hurts him. Even after betraying him like that, stomping onto his trust like that, degrading him like that, he still loves you but because of you, he can no longer trust another other than his own brothers, not again. He doesn't want to get hurt anymore but he just can't bring himself to hate you even after everything you've done.

Mammon sobs and lays down on his bed. He fights his tiredness as the night lasts for a couple more hours, gradually losing sleep. It's bizarre how love can be so simple and yet so painful if not reciprocated or worse, been told that you're not loved.

MC: *gets summoned* Yo, wtf-

Diavolo: Hello, MC! Welcome to Devildom!

MC: ....

Lucifer: Are you so shocked that you can't speak? Well, it's fine. I-

MC: *feels pockets and frowns* Where's my phone?

Lucifer: Ah, about that, actually-

MC: No, actually, why the hell am I here?

Lucifer: You're here to-

MC: Don't you know it's illegal to kidnap me?

Diavolo: Uh, I-

MC: I want- no, I NEED to go back. Now.

Lucifer: *annoyed* Already annoying, I see...

MC: *wandering around RAD*

???: Excuse me, but-

MC: *turns around and widens eyes* Sol?!

Solomon: MC?! Wait, so you're the other human exchange student?!

MC: And... You're the magic dude those demons were talking about?!

Solomon: Well...

MC: Well, say no less, you magic man! C'mere! *hugs Solomon tightly*

Solomon: *laughs and hugs back* Good God, MC. It's been so long since I last saw you.

MC: Bitch, same.

Solomon & MC: *laughs and starts walking together*

Asmodeus, watching everything from afar: I didn't know MC and Solomon were already friends.

Lucifer: *sighs* I can sense chaos between them.

Asmodeus: *smirks* I got another one.

Lucifer: Don't you dare.

OH MY GOD I LOVE THIS😭😭I can imagine Sephiroth bouncing his leg in giddiness in that taxi while enjoying his slushie while his two parents basically become petty and ignore each other xjjdjd

What are some of the goofiest and/or dumbest shenanigans Seph, Gen, and Angeal have ever gotten into together?

There are too many. So here's one.

Angeal had coupons for free mini golf. And the man is so frugal that he is NOT missing out on free shit.

It's hooky time. Three imposing, scary soldiers shuffling about a literal children's mini golf course, surrounded by increasingly colorful and abstract images of dolphins, dinosaurs, giant squids, rainbows, and off-model unicorns.

Genesis is, of course, completely cocky and INSISTING that he can get a hole in one every time. He smugly makes a big grand display on his first hole and immediately hits it halfway across the facility, landing it squarely in the moat. Angeal doesn't do much better, hitting several poles and denting several models. This quickly devolves into an argument between Genesis and Angeal, which further escalates into a full fledged competition between them, screaming and squabbling at each other while fighting for superiority over a children's game.

Sephiroth (who hit the hole in one without even being noticed by the others), gets bored within seconds after his first try. He wanders off to retrieve Genesis and Angeal's various fly balls before eventually tiring of that and going to find the snack bar. He plops in the shade and passively tosses them a thumbs up every time they manage to hit the ball in a way that doesn't involve clubbing someone on accident.

Angeal and Genesis' final scores are so bad that neither of them will speak of it out loud. They sit there sulking and grumbling throughout the taxi ride back, Sephiroth blithely oblivious as he sits between them, happily enjoying his slushie.

basically kai the absolute madman asked me about solomon and i took that as an excuse to go off. spoilers for pretty much all three seasons. i tried to avoid devilgrams as much as possible though and i’ll probably make another post about devilgrams/texts bc they are,,,,, so good,,,,,, and i love him so so much. but tldr: solomon is a good boy who’s a little socially inept but he lives by specific rules and stands by them. he’s not malicious or evil he’s literally just a witty dork of a man that i love with all my heart and more. more ramblings and screenshots below ^w^ (also sorry i forgot to change my name to “MC” for the screenshots so you’ll have to bear with my mc’s name as a placeholder dkjsfh)
