Through Popular Request, The Shark Of The Day Is The Cookie Cutter Shark.

Through popular request, the shark of the day is the Cookie Cutter Shark.

Two people already have been sad he was not included and to be honest the reason is that it was hard to find images of it in nature, since not many people would like to see drawings or the animal after being fished.

But here it is, and a few fun facts.

A very detailed drawing of a cookie cutter
An image of a cookie cutter shark taken of the front half of its body

The cookie cutter shark's scientific name is Isistius brasiliensis (we share a country).

The shark appears in warm waters worldwide (the name brasiliensis coming because the type specimen, the one in which they get described by science, was caught in Brazil), mainly close to islands.

Its very tiny, reaching 42-56cm (16.5 to 22 inches)

The name comes from leaving a round bite mark on it's preys, around cookie-sized, it has even been found biting submarines.

They have a parasitic lifestyle.

They are bioluminescent around the under side of it's body.

They stay deep in the sea during the day, but getting slightly closer to the surface during the night.

A picture of the cookie cutter and another (shark? i dont know which from the picture) from below, showing its underside and the mouth.

Their mouth to be kinda creepy tho.

My dad handed me his phone and very plainly said, “It’s Sal.” I answered the call and it was Sal from Impractical Jokers in a casino. He said, “I’m fucking gambling, dude. Like, all of my life savings, man.” And I woke up. I’ve never woken up more disappointed.

Today Is Eid Al-Fitr BUT...

Hello, as you know we have returned to genocide, death and destruction... martyrs are everywhere, there is no security... today is supposed to be a day of joy and happiness and people visit each other to celebrate and not to mourn and offer condolences for the loss of their loved ones.😔

No food or drink and the crossing is closed... Eid al-Fitr is a holiday for exchanging gifts and giving children money but the situation is extremely difficult.😔😢

Please help us and donate to us, as if it is a gift for the children to be happy by buying necessities, food and toys 😞🙏😔💔

Imsges: Little Mohammed Hammad, only a few months old, is dying of a respiratory infection.

@life-111

Story by @rumiandroses

This is the heartbreaking reality for Ahmed Hammad, a father in Gaza, whose infant son, Mohammed, is fighting for his life at this very moment.

Mohammed, just a few months old, is battling a severe lung infection that has left his fragile body unable to breathe on its own. The ventilator keeps him alive, but his condition is dire. His father, Ahmed, is by his side, watching in helpless agony as his son struggles to survive.

Doctors say there’s still hope, but only if surgery can be performed immediately. The procedure, however, comes at a steep cost: $2,650—an amount far beyond what Ahmed can afford. Without the surgery, the hospital has made it clear that infant Mohammed will be removed from the ventilator and his life will come to an end.

The guilt and despair that weigh on Ahmed’s heart are unfathomable. In one of his tearful messages, he writes, “How do I bear Mohammed's gaze as he stares at me with eyes filled with fear, silently asking, ‘Father, why are you letting me die?’ … I have no answer. All I have is my tears falling down his little face, as if they're an apology for not being a father capable of saving him.”

Living in a war-torn region, Ahmed and his family are battling the devastating effects of Gaza's crumbling infrastructure on a daily basis. With incomes decimated and prices astronomically inflated due to the blockade, the possibility of affording his son’s treatment seems impossible. Yet, despite the overwhelming obstacles, Ahmed refuses to give up on his son.

Desperate, Ahmed has turned to the kindness of strangers, hoping that someone, somewhere, will hear his plea.

“I beg you, my friend,” he writes. “My family and my child need you to help me and spread our story.”

Even the smallest donation could make the difference between life and death for little Mohammed. In this moment of unimaginable grief, every act of kindness counts.

Please consider donating to Ahmed's campaign. If you cannot donate, sharing this post can help Ahmed find people who can financially assist his son, and help him survive.

The night the ceasefire collapsed, Hossam’s family lost everything again.

The Night The Ceasefire Collapsed, Hossam’s Family Lost Everything Again.

Images: The morning after the ceasefire collapsed, Hossam contacted us to confirm his family was safe, and show us the extent of the damage to his family's tent.

Video: To further validate his story, Hossam sent us the link to an Al-Jazeera news report (LINK) in which he briefly appears around the 0:48 mark.

Story by @rumiandroses

On the night of March 17-18, 2025, as airstrikes rained down across Gaza, the Al-Quzzaz family’s tent was destroyed. Miraculously, Hossam, his wife Hanan, and their four children (Bashar, 9; Hani, 8; Diana, 4; and Habiba, 6 months) all survived unharmed, but many in their displacement camp did not—many men, women and children, innocent lives who had already endured so much, were lost to the violence.

Amid the chaos, the Al-Qazzaz family has clung to their faith and done their best to keep their spirits high. They've sought safety where they can, staying with relatives and mentally preparing themselves for the days ahead as war returns to Gaza. Every day is filled with fear and uncertainty—Just last week, Hanan, went to a local hospital, only for the hospital to be bombed just hours after she left it.

In the aftermath of the airstrikes, Hossam and our founder, Bethany-Grace, discussed sending some of the funds raised so far from the Chuffed campaign she is sponsoring for the Al-Quzzaz family, so that the family could rebuild their shelter. On March 28, we were able to send Hossam $788 (€697.48 after conversion) raised by the Chuffed campaign—enough to start constructing a sturdier, more protective shelter for the family. While this might seem like a significant sum, the blockade of goods into Gaza has caused prices for basic items like food, medicine, and building materials to skyrocket.

Today, because of your kindness, compassion, and generosity, Hossam was able to purchase sturdy building materials and has begun to rebuild the family's tent.

Images: Hossam is beginning to reconstruct the family's tent.

As a direct result of your help, the Al-Quzzaz family will have shelter again. They will be protected from the elements and shielded as much as possible from the dangers that surround them every second of every day.

But the Al-Quzzaz family's journey is far from over. We are still raising funds to help Hossam’s family escape to safety and rebuild their lives.

If you can, please donate. If you cannot, please share—amplifying this family's story plays an important role in helping the family find people who can financially assist.

Your generosity has already helped this family take their first steps toward recovery. Let’s help them move forward.

Tent Hell ,
Tent Hell ,

Tent hell ,

The worst thing that can happen to anyone is to live in a tent in the summer. Due to high temperatures, the tent becomes a living hell and insects infest it. And skin diseases.

My baby girl suffers from the intense heat of the tent, and pimples appear on her skin, because of which she cannot sleep.

Please donate to me to save my family.
