Kaminari watched with a quirked brow as you walked straight into the common room and plopped right down next to Bakugou, who opened his arm to allow you to curl into his side.

Sure, it amazed him that Bakugou even had the means to score a partner, let alone one would could just come in and plop next to him, interrupting whatever game he was playing on his switch, but…

Kaminari was moreso interested in whatever you two were doing than thinking about the other complexities of your relationship.

“What do you want?” Bakugou asks, his nose burying in your hair.

“Hngg.”

Bleach blonde eyebrows furrow in frustration, “you do realize it’s almost 10 pm, right? I’m not doing that.”

“Mmmnn!” You push your head against his shoulder, and he snarls at you.

“Don’t you ‘mmmnn’ me! It’s fuckin’ dark out.”

“Do you have any lick of a clue what the hell is going on?” Kaminari whispers, a hand covering his mouth in an attempt to keep his question between himself and Kirishima. Kirishima tips his head as he watches you and Bakugou… talk? to each other on the loveseat just feet away.

“Honestly man,” the redhead sighs, tipping his head in thought. “No idea.”

“You want Aizawa to kill me?” Bakugou mumbles, gently rubbing your arm with his thumb. “Dumbass. Because he will.”

“Hmph..”

“Yeah, I should’ve expected you to say that.”

“Say what?” Kaminari whispers, the pitch turning into a whine, gentle fingers tugging at Kirishima’s tee-shirt. Kirishima shrugs and continues to watch the… conversation.

“Come on,” Bakugou pleads, “can’t I just give you some of my chips? I’ll take ya to get some snacks tomorrow, I promise-“

“Mmmmnnnn…”

Bakugou groans and tips his head back, blinking up at the ceiling as if trying to work up some strength. “Hey, idiots,” he grumbles, making the two of his friends tense up in fear; Kaminari visibly trembles, he hadn’t meant to eavesdrop, he just really wanted to know if you were okay-

“What time does that stupid convenience store close for the night?” The blonde asks, and Kirishima watches as your lips, peeking from Bakugou’s neck, curl up into a smile.

Kirishima shrugs, “I… think they’re 24 hours. Or at least open until real late. I think they stop making food at 1 am though.”

Bakugou groans. Kaminari sees you stifle your giggles, your fingers curling on his shirt. You grunt again, and Bakugou rolls his eyes.

“Fucking- fine.” He turns back to his friends with a snarled lip. “You dickheads want anything?”

“Uh…” Kaminari begins. “I’ll… take a strawberry juice, if you’re offering.”

“I’m not, but my insignificant other is.”

Kirishima chuckles, “I’ll take an egg roll. Thanks man.”

Bakugou gives a subtle nod and turns his head back down to you, “you’re coming with me-“

“Mmmnnnn…”

“Oh hell no!” He barks. “If I go down, you’re coming with me, you shitfuck!”

Once again, you laugh into his neck, and even if kaminari and kirishima don’t understand the dynamic, it feels good to see Bakugou smirk in your hair and nuzzle into you.

“Mmmuvyounnn.”

“Yeah yeah… love you, too, or something.”

another sigh.

you roll your eyes in annoyance from the thousandth sigh you’ve heard in the past ten minutes from the raven haired male seated next to you in the black car.

“oh could you stop sighing and be patient for once?”

megumi huffed, turning to look out the window on his side before sighing again and pulling out his phone from his pocket.

itadori, seated in the front passenger seat, was also scrolling through his phone, tapping his foot softly against the car to music playing in his headphones.

the three of you were currently waiting for two people - nobara, who overslept but was now on her way, and gojo, who had forgotten his sunglasses back inside his house.

the car you were all sitting in belonged to gojo as well, relatively small for 5 people to sit in, yet all of you rushed towards the address he had sent at 7 am on a saturday morning when he claimed it was an emergency and needed you all there fast.

however, when you reached the designated location, all three of you out of breath expecting to see a grueling scene of blood and fighting, you were instead met with your hyper teacher with a large bag jumping up and down excitedly in front of his home.

“we’re going on a trip!” he had yelled as megumi and you facepalmed, groaning at the same time while itadori gasped and started jumping with him.

he claims that it was a much needed celebration after one of the most difficult missions you all had completed the week before, but you all knew he was just lonely and wanted to have fun.

the car door suddenly pulls open on megumi’s side, catching all of your attention, greeted by a very confused looking nobara who sighed as she squished into the car.

you stifled a laugh as she basically had her behind shoved on megumi’s face and foot using his knee as a step stool, earning a yelp of pain from the male to which the both of you ignored.

“where’s the blindfold idiot? where are we even going?”

nobara, now squished into the space between you and megumi, plops her head down onto your shoulder with a yawn. the ginger haired female was never one to be a morning person, and neither were the rest of you.

except the dancing pink haired male sitting in the front passenger seat, happily grooving to whatever music was blasting in his ears.

“gojo says he forgot his glasses, he’s inside the - oh, there he is.”

the car door on the driver’s side opens, the grown male having to bend down a good amount just to enter the car.

“good morning my beloved students! how are we this wonderful sunny morning?”

gojo turns to face the three of you, flashing a bright smile with his black sunglasses perched low on his nose, awaiting your responses.

megumi yawned, resuming scrolling on his phone as if he didn’t hear him, and nobara drifting back off to sleep still on your shoulder.

feeling the slightest bit bad with the lack of response, you decide to break the awkward silence.

“uh, morning, gojo-sensei. but - where are we all going so early?”

he pouts for a moment before smiling at you, turning back to face front as he starts up the car.

“can always count on my favorite student y/n to talk to this old man! and as for where we’re going…”

he winks in the rearview mirror, the roaring of the car engines signaling it coming to life.

“it’s a surprise, of course!”

you sigh, not surprised in the least with his response.

“sensei, i’m hungry,” itadori had finally taken off his headphones, now placed around his neck. you feel the car finally start to move, driving off down the road.

“oh! i got a few meat buns for you all, here, they’re in the white bag.”

itadori excitedly rummages through the bag, pulling out a neatly wrapped bun, which looked pretty good and you hadn’t had anything to eat this morning either-

“y/n, nobara, megumi, take some or you’ll be too hungry.” gojo pats the white bag, motioning for the rest of you to eat.

you lean forward, taking one for yourself, your movement waking nobara up from her short nap.

“uhh — oh, the blindfold idiot is here. so where are we going?” she stretches her arms above her, cursing under her breath when it bumps against the car roof.

nobara spots the now unwrapped meat bun in your hand, quickly reaching forward to grab one for herself before taking a large bite out of it, letting out a hum of satisfaction.

“aw.. you guys really want to know that bad?” gojo sighs, turning around to face you all at a red light, pondering for a moment before grinning.

“okay! our first stop is the shopping mall, and we’ll head to the clothing store!”

“is going to the shopping mall...our vacation?” megumi speaks up with a look of disgust, to which gojo laughs.

“of course not, dear megumi! call it...a preparation for the later celebration.” the white haired sorcerer responds with a mysterious tone, turning back around as the light turns green again.

“hmm.. are we going to a fashion show?!” itadori exclaims happily, making the man next to him laugh heartily.

“oh, we all know who would come in first place if that was the case.” he dramatically strikes a pose, all four of you resisting the urge to puke in his car right then.

“sure, but we all know who’d come in last.” you snicker, stealing a glance at the raven haired male on the other side of the car, smirking when you see his glare towards you.

“as if you’d get a higher place than me with your looks.”

“what the hell did you s-”

“god - can you lovebirds take your argument somewhere else?! i’m trying to enjoy my meal here.”

nobara huffs, kicking megumi’s leg before turning to you, smiling apologetically as she feasts on her third meat bun.

“lovebirds - are you out of your mind?!” megumi stands up out of shock, bumping his head on the roof of the car, making everyone laugh at his flustered expression.

“oh dear, y/n, why don’t you check on your wounded lover? i’m sure he’d love some assistan-”

you throw an unopened meat bun towards gojo’s face, making him yelp and smirk at the red on your face.

of course, everyone thought there was something going on between you and that idiot from your constant bickering, and wouldn’t stop teasing you both once they found out.

it was definitely annoying.

...or not.

shaking the strange thoughts away, you quickly looked out your window, pretending to be immersed in the buildings and cars passing by.

if only you had taken another look at megumi that second, you would’ve seen he was feeling the same way.

-- -- --

“alright kids, we’re here!”

you looked at your surroundings, a tall, silver building coming into view to which you recognized as one of the largest malls in Japan.

all of you exited the car, immediately groaning at the blazing heat of the sun, wanting to quickly enter the building to feel the cool air of the air conditioner.

the mall was usually pretty crowded on weekends, but gojo managed to lead you all towards one of the large clothing stores to the - swimsuit section..?

“uh, sensei, why are we here..?” itadori widens his eyes at all the bikinis and interesting ... female clothing.

“to pick out clothes, of course!”

an idea pops into your head, turning around to face gojo. “are we going to the beach?”

gojo smiles widely, patting your head as he drags megumi and itadori to the male section. “you’re my smartest student for a reason, y/n!”

as they walked further away, you could hear megumi’s protests of not wanting to be here and itadori’s exclaims of wanting to stay in the female section.

“call me when you guys are done!” the loud male calls after you and nobara, disappearing on the other side.

the ginger female face palms at your teacher’s usual antics, before turning around and dragging your arm to search for bikinis.

“well, might as well enjoy ourselves, right?” nobara winks at you, already going off by herself towards the unlimited racks of clothing.

just then, you feel a vibration come from your pocket, pulling out your phone to see a text from no one but your annoying teacher and the group chat he created with all of you.

blindfold idiot : don’t worry about prices! get as much as you want, it’s on me! :)

you chuckle, although grateful that he was going out of his way to do so much for you guys.

looking around, you begin to search for your own bikini, visibly recoiling at some of the more revealing ones.

after an hour of painful trying on different sets of swimwear, you finally narrowed it down to between a dark blue and black two-piece.

deciding to find nobara to ask for her opinion, however she was nowhere in sight, until you heard a familiar shout behind you.

“oi y/n! what’s talking you guys so long?” itadori runs over with a pair of dark shorts slung over his arm, followed by gojo and megumi.

“oh - i don’t know where nobara went, but i’ve just picked out two that i’m still deciding on…”

gojo tilts his head to the side, already beginning to take the clothes from you. “why not just get both?”

you stop him, shaking your head. “no, it’s okay, just-”

“sorry guys! i’m done.” nobara rushes over, a dark red bikini in her hand as she beams brightly at you.

“did you pick, y/n?”

“uh, yeah, which one do you think is better?”

she hums, eyeing both sets for a moment, before her gaze was directed to something behind you.

“ah… get the dark blue one! i like the color.”

you wondered what was up with her weird tone, but shrugged it off and placed the black one back on its rack.

“okay kids! follow dad to checkout in the front!”

gojo marches towards the checkout section, all of you trailing behind him. it did look like he was your dad.

after paying for all of your clothes, you all make your way back to his car for the next place he was going to take you all to.

“woohoo! beach time!” itadori exclaims happily, gojo already starting the car and beginning to drive off.

“yup! it’s pretty close to here, won’t be a long drive.”

a grunt comes from the left side of you, followed by a “why am i even here,” making you exhale slowly to prevent yourself from landing a fist right in the middle of his face.

somehow you were now sitting in the middle of nobara and megumi, after nobara had hurriedly entered the car before you and took your previous seat, only winking in response when you raised a questioning eyebrow.

and coincidentally, she just decides to place her large white bag holding both of your bikinis in between you and her, leaving you no choice but to sit closer to the mumbling idiot next to you.

after a few minutes of bickering and shoving in the cramped space between you two, gojo finally announces that you’ve reached your destination.

“woahh!” the pink haired teenager excitedly runs out of the car, rushing ahead as gojo parks the car and the rest of you piling out along.

a wide area of beach stretches out alongside the peaceful ocean, littered with people enjoying their time under umbrellas or soaking in the sun. you watch as a group of teenagers bounce a volleyball back in forth in the water, laughter echoing in the sky when one of them trips and falls face first into the water.

“well, kids! feel free to get changed in the bathroom over there, i’ll wait for you all here!” gojo points to the bathrooms at the back, already stripping himself of his shirt, leaving him in only his shorts. he turns back to the car, pulling out multiple towels as well as a cooler he somehow managed to hide in the back of the car.

“you sure are prepared, aren’t you?” nobara laughs, while you take the clothes you all had purchased earlier and pulls out your own.

“all for my lovely students, of course! now go get changed,” he pushes you all in the direction of the bathrooms, to which all of you laugh at and head into your own respective stalls.

after successfully putting on your own bikini, you were glad nobara had picked this dark blue one for you. it might just become your favorite set, the way it fit you perfectly and the color was definitely prettier than the black one.

leaving the bathrooms, you feel the burst of humid air once again, sighing in relief when you feel the smallest breeze whoosh past you.

spotting gojo and itadori already standing by an umbrella and some towels on the ground, you start to make your way over to them before the sight of a familiar figure stops you in your tracks.

megumi, who had also just exited the bathrooms, wincing as the heat hit his skin.

his previous clothing all removed, save for a pair of blue shorts that you assumed he purchased from the mall earlier.

your eyes trailed along his now exposed torso, taking in the sight of his light yet defined abs, the results of his constant training, no less. his arms, usually hidden by the uniform’s long sleeves, flexed lightly in the sun as he shields his eyes from the brightness.

shaking your head profusely as you realize you had been shamelessly ogling over his body in broad daylight, he turns to you, eyebrows furrowed with a questioning expression.

“what are you looking at, huh?”

you roll your eyes, about to ignore him and walk away before you notice his eyes scan over your form as well, slowly trailing over your legs before-

he coughs, sputtering and turning away to adjust his line of sight somewhere not facing you, making you smirk to yourself.

but something felt weird. or rather, looked weird.

you tilt your head to the side, megumi’s shorts catching your eye as you process what looked so oddly… familiar about it.

it was dark blue.

the same shade of dark blue as -

your head whips down to your own two piece, and back to his shorts, and back to your own clothes.

even the design, the pattern on the sides of your set and his shorts were identical.

thinking back to when you were all back at the mall, you groan as realization hits you that nobara was the one who picked out this one for you.

she must’ve known it was a matching set when she saw megumi’s choice of shorts.

the male still standing opposite of you seems to have come to the same conclusion, mouth forming into an ‘o’ as his cheeks begin to tint pink.

pretending like you have no idea of the situation, you turn to head over to where the rest of the group was sitting.

“ooh y/n! you look great!” itadori cheers upon seeing you, waving to megumi who was just a few steps behind you.

“thanks yuji, you too,” you smile at the bright boy, who looked like he couldn’t wait to get in the water and bathe in the sun.

you catch nobara’s eye, raising your eyebrows in a way that says, ‘really?’ to which she just responds with a wink and a quiet laugh.

“well kids, go out there and have some fun! the old man is going to stay here and relax, just call if you need anything!”

with that, you all run off towards the water cheering, with a certain male grumbling as he follows along.

you feel the cold water reach your waist as you submerge deeper into the ocean, a pleasant contrast to the blazing heat on your upper body. an small occasional wave pushes you slightly, enjoying the feeling of being surrounded by your friends as well as the cool water.

“hey y/n!” you hear nobara’s voice call your name from just a few feet away, turning around to answer, instead being met with a splash of water to your face.

after wiping your eyes from the liquid being splashed into it, you heard her giggle from across from you.

“is that how we’re playing now? perfect time for revenge then,” you smirk at her dying laughter, her arms already reaching up to shield her face from your attack, but was just a second too late as you throw a large amount of water at her.

“hey—! oh, it’s on-“ she coughs before quickly recovering and launching a water attack at you again, however this time you heard a familiar male cough and sputter right behind you.

“what the hell.” you turn to see megumi’s hair now wet with water dripping from the ends, his fingers running through the strands to move it out of his face.

your eyes trail lower, following the water droplets as it slides down his collarbone, then his chest, then his stoma-

“i want to join too!” itadori suddenly jumps at you three, the impact of his body against the water sending a large splash to all of you, making you laugh and resume splashing water at each other.

ready to send one particularly strong wave towards itadori, you suddenly feel your foot catch onto a hard object on the sand making you lose your balance as you trip forward, arms reaching out to somehow stop the impact.

ready to fall face first into the water, you feel a pair of rough hands grab your waist from behind, pulling you backwards mid-fall. regaining your balance again in the water, you become aware of your body being pressed up against a hard surface and the two hands that had saved you still gripping your sides.

turning around, you’re beyond shocked to recognize no one but megumi, lips parted slightly, panting with the same annoyed expression as he looks down at you, your faces mere inches apart. you could feel his heartbeat against your back, thumping at an unusually quick pace, almost matching your own.

swallowing the strange lump in your throat, you move away from him - immediately missing the temporary warmth he had provided with his body pressed against yours - and feel your cheeks heat up despite the cool breeze that was passing by.

“uh - thanks.. for that.” you managed to get out, avoiding making eye contact with him, looking at every other direction.

“tch. don’t be so clumsy. it’s annoying.”

he then turns around to walk away, leaving you with your mouth opened, shocked at the fact that he just called you annoying for tripping on a rock.

thank heavens for the darkening sky, making it difficult for you to see his blushing cheeks.

wait, dark—?

you look up at the sky, expecting to immediately look away due to the brightness of the sun, only to be met with a dark, gloomy sky with clouds moving over instead. in just mere seconds, it was almost like someone draped a large cover over the sky, making it completely dark on a summer day.

suddenly, a loud thunder crack could be heard in the distance, making every person that was in the water retreat back onto shore, panicking.

you feel droplets start to fall on your skin, getting heavier and louder as it started fully raining on the beach. all of you ran back to gojo, who was already packing up the things he brought, a worried expression on his usually calm face.

“get in the car, i’ll be there in a second.”

all of you obeyed, settling back in the car seats as raindrops continue to fall on the window, the patter of the droplets almost soothing if not for the occasional cracks of thunder echoing through the sky.

moments after, gojo enters the car again, sighing loudly as he hands you all towels to dry your wet bodies off. well, as best as you could in a cramped car with limited space to move.

“man, i did not expect there to be heavy rain today. the weather forecast didn’t even say anything about it.” you could hear the pout in his voice, disappointment obvious in his mood.

itadori shrugs, looking out the window at the few remaining people on the beach, packing quickly to get indoors.

“it’s okay, sensei! i enjoyed our time anyway. we should be thanking you for taking us here.”

gojo turns, smiling softly at the male seated next to him attempting to cheer him up, and lets out a large exhale before starting up the car.

“alright! although our time was cut short today, we need to get inside-“ he stops in his words, tapping his chin thoughtfully.

“actually, i can’t drive you all home in this weather. hm—“ he unlocks his phone, tapping a few times on the screen as his eyes scan over the contents.

“ah! there’s a great hotel pretty close to here, let’s just stay there for the night. make sure you tell your parents so they don’t worry, alright?”

the car begins to move, the windshield wipers moving across the window to clean the water off the glass. you pull your phone out to text your mom a quick note about your current situation, earning a reply from her to stay safe and call her if anything happens.

“gosh, it’s so cold,” nobara shivers from beside you, draping the towel over herself in an attempt to create some warmth for her exposed body.

you become aware of your own shivering, already itching to take a warm shower and change back into dry clothing.

the male next to you sneezes, sniffling softly after. gojo sends you all an apologetic look from his seat at the front.

“sorry kiddos, you can change back into your old clothes after a shower at the hotel- oh, we’re here.”

he parks the car in front of a tall, fancy looking building with seemingly never ending windows. you all run out the car and quickly make your way to the entrance, feeling the rain against your skin once again while clutching your belongings in your arms.

“whew… hello! i’d like to make a reservation for us five.” gojo walks up to the lady at the front with a smile.

“welcome, just one second please.” the woman types away on her laptop, keys clicking against her nails as she looks over available rooms for you guys.

“it seems like we only have two rooms with two beds, and one single-bed room, is that okay? we’ve been a little busy due to the rain.”

gojo looks back at you guys, pondering for a moment before nodding back at her. “that’s fine, thank you.”

“who’s going to be with who?” itadori questions, the rest of you wanting to know as well.

“hmm.. i’ll have to be in the single bed room, so…who wants to be together?”

“nobara and i could share one of the rooms,” you offer, since you were both females, it would only be right.

“uh… actually, i- promised to… show itadori this really cool trick!! with my … cursed technique“ she nudges, or more like shoves, itadori while her panicked eyes motion over to you and megumi.

“wha- OH-“ itadori gasps, clearing his throat as he laughs awkwardly. “yeah, and the trick.. is going to take a while— so it’s best if me and her are together!” nobara nods her head up and down quickly in agreement.

“um, we also have a special room with three beds if you are interested.”the woman speaks up awkwardly.

you cock an eyebrow at their weird behavior. “okayy… so, me, megumi and gojo in that one then, and you two in the other? since you seem pretty…excited to show this trick,”, already cringing at the thought of sharing the room with both of the most annoying people you know.

“NO!” they both protest at the same time, looking to each other in panic.

“the- uh, three bed room must be quite expensive! since it’s special, right? so let’s not spend too much of sensei’s money, and he can stay in the basic single room instead.”

nobara and itadori share a proud look, leaving even the hotel lady speechless, hands holding the room keys hanging in the air in the middle of handing them to gojo.

“so.. you’re saying i have to share with…” megumi finally speaks up, casting you a disgusted look.

“..her?”

you scoff at his rude tone, looking towards gojo for his response to this. surely he would disagree.

“uh- i agree! so it’s decided then, megumi and y/n in one, itadori and nobara in one, and me in the single room!”

you gape at his answer, already being dragged along towards the elevator to head up to your respective rooms.

“what?! i’m not going to sleep in the same room with this guy.”

you look at the three of them hiding in one corner of the elevator while megumi mumbles something about how he’d rather sleep outside in the rain.

the elevator dings! signalling that you had reached your floor. itadori, nobara and gojo step out quickly, leaving you eyeing them suspiciously as they try their best to avoid eye contact.

“it’s getting late, make sure to shower and head to bed, alright?”

gojo hands you your room key to the room you were going to share with him, and the other key to nobara.

“i still don’t get why i-“ you start to protest, before two doors slam right before you finish your sentence. the three of them had hurriedly entered their room right next to each other.

megumi grumbles from beside you, staring down at his feet. you two stayed in the hallway for a few moments in silence, already dreading having to deal with the other until the next morning.

sighing, you accept your fate and look at your room key number. 309.

the rooms were in consecutive order, gojo in 311, and the other two in 310.

slotting the key into the hole, you push the door open to reveal an average sized room, beige curtains covering the window on the far end of the room with another shut door which you assumed was the bathroom. it contained a large wooden closet for clothing and other belongings.

you hear soft footsteps follow you into the room, everything else silent besides from the door softly clicking shut.

you sit down on one bed, already taking out your dry clothing from this morning to prepare for your shower.

megumi, still standing in the middle of the room, looks around as if he was searching for something.

he walks over to the shut door, revealing a bright bathroom to which he turns back around and scans the room again, confusion evident on his face.

“what are you doing?”

“where’s the other bed?”

you raise an unimpressed eyebrow, clearly it was right ther-

you turn your head to the left.

then the right.

nothing.

to your left was the wooden closet, and to your right was… a wall.

“did the idiot give us the wrong key?” he grumbles, running a hand through his raven colored locks.

“i’ll go ask.”

you stand, making your way to the door and unlocking it, standing back again in the carpeted hallway.

walking up to room 311, you raise a fist and knock against the door. you decide to wait a couple seconds for a response.

no answer.

“sensei?” you knock again, louder this time.

still no answer.

you sigh, taking out your phone to call him instead. no way he fell asleep that quick.

three times you called, and it went to voicemail. maybe he was in the shower?

you decide to knock on the other two’s room this time, at least hoping to switch rooms with one of them.

silence, again.

even if one of them was showering, the other could answer...right?

groaning, you assumed they were just purposely ignoring you. they were always up to something, after all. it’s not like you were stupid.

“trying to purposely put me and this idiot in the same room…” you huff, accepting your defeat and retreating back to your room.

“none of them answered the door.” you sigh out when the waiting male sends you a questioning look.

“whatever. i’ll sleep on the floor or something.” he grumbles, yawning as he prepares to set his space on the ground.

you felt a little bad that you were the only one sleeping on a comfortable mattress, so the next words that came out of your mouth could arguably be the dumbest words that you’ve ever spoken before. you blamed it on the fact that you were tired and just wanted to head to bed peacefully.

“you know, there’s space for two people. it’s king sized.” you motion over to the large bed.

his eyes meet yours, and you could almost see gears turning in his head as he processes the offer.

“what?” was the only thing he said.

you swallow, moving one of the pillows in the dead center of the bed, creating a barrier for the two of you.

“you don’t get on my side, and i won’t get on yours. you don’t have to sleep on the floor, it’s not clean, anyway.”

his features twist into confusion, then disgust at the thought of sharing a bed with you, then… embarrassment?

before he could speak and make you regret your whole life any further, you decide to speak first.

“or- do whatever you want. i’m going to shower.”

you hurriedly grab your clean clothes and dash into the bathroom, locking the door behind you immediately.

what were you thinking? why did it matter to you whether he slept comfortably or not?

you’re probably just tired and in need of a hot shower, you think, stripping off your swimwear and hopping into the shower.

a relieved sigh leaves your lips, feeling the warm water splash against your skin as you bask in the feeling for a while.

after a while, you (begrudgingly) leave the warm water and dry yourself off, changing back into your shirt and pants.

upon exiting the bathroom, you notice megumi now leaning against the headboard of the bed lazily, one hand holding his phone as he scrolls through - god knows what.

his head shoots up when you walk out, clearing his throat as he stands up to take his shower.

“i’ll - sleep on the bed, too. the floor is too dirty, anyway.” he tells you gruffly, walking past you to the bathroom.

“oh, alright.”

when the bathroom door shuts, you flop onto the bed, hair still wet as your heart beats unusually fast from the thought of sharing a bed with your annoying rival.

deciding to dry your hair quickly before he comes out so you could pretend to be asleep when he gets in bed, you noticed the pillow barrier you placed earlier had been moved slightly towards his side, giving your side more space.

gulping heavily, you wondered if he had done that on purpose or if he had just unknowingly shifted it. and you wondered why your heart was beating even faster.

furiously shaking the weird thoughts away, you reached for the black hair dryer the hotel room provided to dry off your hair before he finished showering.

after a while, your hair was dry and you could hear the water in the bathroom come to a stop, signalling he was almost done.

you dive under the soft covers, body immediately relaxing into the clean, fluffy mattress. you have to admit it was a bit cold, as you were wearing shorts and the AC was on.

hearing the door click open, you instantly shut your eyes, pretending to be asleep to avoid awkward interaction with him.

heavy footsteps could be heard coming to a stop, you assuming he had noticed you were asleep.

a bag’s zipper, then the harsh blowing of the hair dryer for a few minutes, then finally the clicking of the lights turning off.

the bed’s weight sinked on the opposite side, feeling the covers lift for a moment before falling back down.

no knife could even make a dent in the thick tension currently in the room, awkward shuffling coming from his side of the bed followed by silence.

then more shuffling and kicking. you were beginning to get annoyed.

you flip over, seeing megumi now back in his regular clothing, the scent of the hotel shampoo strong in his hair. and he looked distressed. like always.

“what are you doing? stop kicking the blanket.”

he turns to meet your eyes, huffing as he looks away and lay back down onto his pillow.

“there’s...no space.”

you look over to his side, noticing that he was pretty much hanging off the bed with the amount of space he had. and then the amount of space between the both of you.

“i don’t have a disease, you know. you can move closer - just not too close.”

he seems to ponder your words for a moment, before shifting a centimeter closer to your side.

you sigh, deciding to let him do whatever he wanted, it’s not like you cared whether he fell off the bed in the middle of the night or not.

turning over once again to face the wall, you feel his legs brush up against yours for a second, sending goosebumps trickling down your own skin.

a few moments of peaceful silence passes, and you feel goosebumps litter your skin again. except this time it wasn’t from him touching you. you were freezing.

“hey… is there a way to turn the AC off? it’s k-kind of cold in here.”

you shiver, trying to pull the covers over you more, still feeling cold despite it being summer.

the male hums tiredly from beside you, looking around for a possible remote control to turn the AC down, but it was hard to see from his position on the bed, so he tosses the covers aside and gets up to look.

you watch as he walks around the room, opening drawers and checking in the large closet, but to no avail.

“check that drawer over there,” you motion to one wooden drawer he hadn’t checked yet, to which he opens and looks inside.

his eyes scan over the contents, lingering for a while as he searches.

“so… is it there?”

he almost jumps, like he was in deep thought and was suddenly interrupted, before shaking his head and shutting the drawer.

you sigh, disappointed as he crawls back into bed again, not sure if you could even fall asleep without shivering every two seconds.

megumi seems to move a little closer to your side, you notice, shrugging it off, thinking he finally realized he didn’t want to fall off the bed in his sleep.

“aren’t you cold?” you question him, eyeing one of his legs slung above the covers, and he was wearing shorts, too.

“no.”

“then give me the blanket.”

you try to tug it over more to your side, but he grabs it first and stops you. you tug on it again, and he tugs it back.

“you said you weren’t cold!”

“that doesn’t mean i don’t want it!”

you two begin to play tug of war with the blanket on the bed, trying to get it more on your own sides until one particularly hard tug on his side pulls you along towards him.

now, you two were mere inches apart from each other, and you could feel the heat radiating off his body from your close proximity. his light green eyes looking down towards your own, both of your breaths mingling together from panting from the constant tugging.

“w-we - there’s enough space for both, so-” he sputters out, letting go of the covers.

you let go as well, however now that both of you were completely under the blanket, your bodies were pretty much touching each other as well.

not that you minded as much - you were beginning to feel warmer due to his body heat and the full blanket. your cheeks were also oddly heating up quite a bit.

god did his body feel so warm against yours, you craved more of his heat, his warmth-

“what are you… doing?”

you opened your eyes, noticing that your head was now resting on his chest, his face red with his hands awkwardly in the air, unsure where to be placed. you had unknowingly moved closer to him while trying to be less cold, resulting in the extremely close position you two were now in.

“i-oh - sorry, i didn’t mean to-” you began to shift away, embarrassed and wanting to hide away and never come back out.

“wait-” he grabs your wrist suddenly, stopping you from moving away, the action shocking the both of you.

“i mean- you’re annoying, but it’s even more annoying if you keep complaining about being cold, so-” he clears his throat, trying to seem as unbothered as possible.

“so..?”

“- so you can move… closer.”

you gape for a moment, before nodding slowly and returning back to his body, head resting under his chin. you did feel way warmer in this position, and this way the two of you would be able to sleep faster, anyway.

surprisingly, you feel his arms unsurely wrap around your form, him letting out a relieved sigh when you don’t land a punch in his face for touching you.

his heartbeat in his chest sounds loudly against your ear, and you were sure that yours was just beating as fast in your own chest.

you never wished to leave this position, his arms wrapped snug around your waist, making you feel so secure and safe. beginning to feel yourself drift off to dreamland, you could feel the subtle touch of something against the top of your head, right before your eyes fluttered shut.

“..night.”

-- -- --

“ugh…”

cringing away from the sunlight flooding through the windows, you begin to stretch your arms from your place in the bed when-

“ow-”

your hand bumps against a hard object, turning quickly to see megumi’s face scrunched in pain, just above you.

his arms were still wrapped tightly around you and hair standing in all directions from just waking up. you stifled a laugh at his bed hair.

“what’s so funn-”

three knocks at the door almost made your soul jump out of your body, doing the same to the male beside you. you two hurriedly move away from each other, clearly it could be easily misunderstood if someone walked in and saw you two... together.

megumi drags himself to the door, answering it and almost falling backwards from three large figures shoving it open.

“morning megumi and y/n!” a familiar annoying voice calls out towards you, groaning when you see itadori, nobara and gojo enter your room.

“mmm, how’d you sleep last night? or… did you not get any sleep because you were too busy..?”

nobara smirks, flopping down onto the bed by your feet as you roll your eyes, not wanting to deal with her so early in the morning.

“did you sleep well last night, y/n?” gojo now stands beside you as well, winking from under his sunglasses.

you groan. “not you too.”

gojo laughs, the sound booming through the hotel room. “well, what do you say we grab breakfast downstairs together? i heard they have pretty high quality food here.”

itadori cheers, sitting down on the bed besides you, making you wonder how they were all this hyper in the morning.

“sure, i’m starving, actually. and- why is it so cold in here?” nobara shivers, looking around the room.

you sigh, motioning to the AC on the ceiling. “we couldn’t find the control to turn it off.”

“isn’t it right here?” gojo holds a small, white remote control in his hand, a wooden drawer opened besides him, indicating where he got it from.

wait-

“didn’t you say-”

you whip your head around to look at megumi, he had clearly checked that specific drawer you had asked him to yesterday, and said it wasn’t there.

he looks at you from across the room, shrugging before opening the door to the bathroom to prepare for the day. along with his last words before the door shut, you swore you saw the smallest hint of a smile tugging on his lips.

“guess i just didn’t look hard enough.”

“you’re The Only One That Makes Me Powerless Tonight”

Gojo Satoru was by no means alone. Whether he was with the higher-ups or other sorcerers or with his students, he was always with someone, around someone. Gojo Satoru was by no means alone, but he was by every means lonely. There was always a wall between him and everyone, metaphorically and quite literally, considering his infinity. only one person had ever been able to get past it, and that was when he was in jujutsu high himself, only one person until you.

Yaga had called Gojo in one day for what he thought was a meeting, but upon arriving, he was met with you, standing there in all your glory, hands clasped together as you smiled sweetly at Gojo, who could now actively feel his pulse quickening the longer he stared at you.

“Gojo, meet L/N; they're a new teacher here. In fact, they'll be working with you and your first years," Yaga catches Gojo up as he begins walking toward you two.

“Hi! Nice to meet you,” you say happily as you offer your hand out to him for a handshake.

Gojo catches himself about to shake your hand but stops himself before he can do so. That’s not Gojo; Gojo doesn't shake hands, and Gojo doesn’t turn off his infinity, so why was he about to? just for you? He clears his throat and smiles smugly. “Sorry, pretty. I don't shake hands.”

Your mouth forms a slight “o” shape as you retract your hand and go back to clasping it together with your other. “Sorry!” you apologize sincerely.

Yaga quirks up an eyebrow at Gojo in question, having witnessed the whole interaction, and the only thing Gojo can do is flash his signature smile.

Yaga sighs. “Right well, that’s all. They start tomorrow with you, Gojo. Get them informed on your class, yeah?” He says this before walking out of the room.

“Nice to meet you!” You call out to Yaga, who is long gone at this point. “So Gojo, what’s our class like?”

Gojo catches himself smiling like an idiot at your use of “our.” He likes the sound of that; he likes it a lot, a little too much, actually.

“Just call me Satoru.”

Everything after that was history. Gojo and you had quickly taken to each other like no other, catching everyone by surprise. Mostly because Gojo hadn't let himself take to anyone since he was in Jujutsu High, so why should you be any different? Nobody knew why, and he certainly didn't know why either, which is what scared him; it’s what’s made him keep you at arm's length; it’s what’s made him keep the quite literal invisible wall between you two.

But none of that stopped you; you were still just as enticed by Gojo as was everybody else, but you were different. You didn't fall for him because he was Gojo, the strongest sorcerer; you fell for him because he was just Satoru to you; you saw him when he was see-through, and maybe that's exactly why he keeps you at arms length. Because being truly known scares Gojo, allowing someone to truly know him again is what keeps Gojo up at night, even if deep down that's all he really wants.

It’s been about a year at this point of you and Gojo being friends that aren't just friends but also aren't together but also aren't not together. In simpler terms, it's been about a year at this point of you and Gojo being together without actually being together. This isn’t to say you haven't tried; you have, kind of. You’ve never wanted to push too hard, afraid that it would do more harm than good. You would try and plan dates with Gojo, telling him you’d make time for him and that you were waiting on his greenlight, but apparently his light was always red, occasionally yellow, but never green. never.

But now you’re sick of waiting for the right time. You're sick of not being pushy; you're sick of being whatever it is you are with Gojo; you’re either together or you're not. You need answers; you need to know if he needs you like you need him, which is how you found yourself at his front door at midnight. You find yourself hesitating to knock on his door but end up knocking anyway; you didn't come out all this way in the cold only to end up not knocking. After a few moments, you're still out in the cold, so you knock harder, only to end up knocking on Gojo, well—you would have had his infinity been off.

“Y/n?” he asks grogily.

“Gojo,” you reply back flatly, nodding as a form of greeting.

Gojo’s face scrunches up in confusion and slight disgust at his last name coming from you as he moves out of the way to allow you in.

“Did I do something?” he asks curiously as he watches you walk into his living room.

“yes.. no! .. maybe? ugh, I don't know,” you respond vaguely as you stand in front of his couch and turn to look at him.

Gojo now finds himself a few feet in front of you, every part of him aching to just hold you. “You don't know?” he asks quietly.

you groan. “What are we, Gojo?”

Gojo winces at you using his last name again. “Can you stop calling me Gojo?”

You frown. “okay fine. What are we, Satoru?” You purposely draw out his first name as if to mock him.

He matches your frown, his eyebrows scrunching together as he questions, “Where is this coming from?”

You scoff. “You can't even tell me!”

"Y/n no, I'm just confused," Gojo responds sheepishly.

You sigh. “Satoru, I'm in love with you.”

Gojo goes wide-eyed; he had pretty much already known, but hearing you say it outright still takes him by surprise, and suddenly, with the way his pulse is quickening, he's taken back to the first time he met you. “Y/n-“

You don't give him a chance to speak, raising your finger at him as if telling him to shut up, and he does. “I am so in love with you, but I can’t keep doing whatever we’re doing, Satoru.”

“What are we doing?” he asks with a frown.

“I don't know!” you exclaim. “That's the problem, Satoru! I need to know if you’re in because I have been in since the moment I met you, Satoru, so now it’s your turn. Do you love me, Satoru?”

Gojo bites the inside of his cheek, and his eyes are stinging; he might just actually cry. He inhales and exhales deeply. “Y/n, I love you so much that it scares me,” he whispers back because he thinks if he talks any louder, his voice will crack.

Now it's your turn for your eyes to sting, along with your lips starting to tremble. Scratch that—every part of you is beginning to tremble as you watch him step closer to you. “Then prove it,” you reply meekly yet sternly.

Gojo doesn’t say a word. The way he wants to prove it doesn't involve him speaking; it involves him wrapping you in his embrace, which is exactly what he does, and you go stiff at feeling him touch you for the first time. You blink a few times in disbelief before grabbing whatever part of him you can get your hands on—his back, shoulders, arms, neck, hair, face—everything and anything. You’re trying to memorize his body whole in case this is the first and only chance you’ll get to ever touch him.

He stifles a laugh at how your hands won't stay still on him, and he kisses your forehead, and the two of you stay like that for a few moments, his lips against your forehead, while you try to memorize Gojo whole. Eventually, you finally stop and wrap your arms around him just like his are around you; your heart is about to practically jump out of your chest with how hard it’s beating.

Gojo is the first to break the silence. “So, I was thinking maybe we could get away? call it a date?” He mumbles against your forehead.

“Is this real?” you ask breathlessly.

Gojo laughs as he pulls away slightly, arms still around you, in order to look at you face-to-face. “Of course this is real. Am I just that amazing that you can't believe I'm real?” he asks as a smirk tugs at his lips.

Despite the grin on your face, you roll your eyes at him. "Oh, shut up! It's just... does this mean you're in?" You ask nervously.

Gojo hums before he leans in and kisses you passionately, yet keeps it short and sweet by breaking the kiss just to mumble.

                                   “Yeah, i'm in.”

gojo satoru.

a freshly turned seventeen year old, with crass and violence only ever painting him—most get tired of him. because when the pretty thing opens his mouth, without you present to offer silent sympathy, it never ends well.

as the passage of time carries on, change in gojo is little, but hefty in others surrounding him; accustomed and changed befitting to survive through his moods.

but the.. curiosity (maybe even frustration from people who see him in a romantic plight) only becomes covered in layers, instead of dying down. to question his character, the incessant wonder for the reason of his friskiness.

and he’s aware— observes the dull remarks or lingering eyes with nothing more than a shrug that is a second too quick and barely noticeable pout, the jut of his lower lip acting as a childish gateway to his feelings.

in his head, taking the title as the strongest, fingertips skimming heaven, it has no setbacks.

despite his denies, his power never came without stripping something; ousting him from the realm of elysian and chaining him to humanity. giving him traits of a god but characteristics of a human.

and what they failed to give him, was a proper tongue.

in moments like these, more specifically.

finding you sitting on the engawa shrouded in shadows, while he took his usual midnight walk when sleep didn’t come.

his stomach drops without reason, yet his feet carries him towards you, sitting close enough to bump shoulders. you’ve bumped hips, shoulders and heads before, forever affectionate and familiar— this time it feels wrong. your body motionless and swayed slightly with his movement.

he clenches and unclenches his hands, staring out towards the training grounds as you are. his normal banter isn’t coming to him, and you haven’t said a word.

with a few blinks, his eyes rest on the side of your face, and he turns into a jumble of nerves and shock when he sees your eyes cloudy and a wet trail of tears left behind. tears that have been shed not long since he joined you because your skin glistens.

he gulps, hard.

and when his hand softly touches your thigh, caressing the flesh with hesitant strokes, your gaze flits on him. immediately he drops eye contact, focusing on drawing patterns on your skin as his complexion pinks with your attention. you tilt your head slightly in his direction, drinking in his attempt of comfort.

you lean on him gently, your face finding its home on his neck. the feeling of your wet eyelashes on his skin sends shivers down him. your chest rises and falls, and with each breaths he counts, the uncertainty in his touches dwindles. your lips curve upwards when you feel his arm travel across your waist, tugging you closer.

(you know the reason for his bravado. though you’ll hand it to him that it’s nothing but subtle.

articulating his emotions will never come to him easy. he will never know how to start or say it right. awkward and tense at times of vulnerability, so he resorts to puffing out his chest and making it worse, sticking with the hot headed persona.)

as he angles his head on top of yours, quiet in hopes to calm the turmoil brewing behind your eyes, you have half a mind to tell him he’s not as bad as he fears.

but for now, you like being the only one who cracks his facade.

“Umm it will actually be very difficult for universities to divest from israel and arms manufacturers without tuition skyrocketing 🤓☝🏼” why is the financial stability of a college (and the economy at large, especially in the us) so reliant on what amounts to war profiteering to begin with? Why is that an inevitability that we’re supposed to accept?

International Team Of Astronomers Discovers Two Rare Binary Star Systems

International team of astronomers discovers two rare binary star systems

An international team of astronomers has identified only the second and third examples of a rare type of star system comprising two central stars orbiting each other, encompassed by a remarkable disk of gas and dust.

“If there were a planet in one of these systems, it would be like the planet Tatooine from Star Wars,” says Michael Poon, a Ph.D. student in the Faculty of Arts & Science’s David A. Dunlap Department of Astronomy & Astrophysics and one of two University of Toronto researchers involved in the discovery.

“You would see two suns in the sky orbiting each other. In addition, there’s a disk around the stars. Picture Saturn’s rings but much, much larger—with the stars in the middle.”

Such disks are referred to as protoplanetary disks because they eventually form into families of planets like our solar system. The newly discovered systems are rare because their disks lie at an angle to the orbits of their central stars.

“The discovery of objects like these is important for our understanding of planet formation,” says J.J. Zanazzi, a postdoctoral fellow in the faculty’s Canadian Institute for Theoretical Astrophysics (CITA). “Planets are born from them so the existence of disks around binary stars shows it’s likely we will find more planets orbiting binaries.

"They’ll also help us understand whether life can exist on a planet that orbits a binary star at an angle because of how that orientation affects temperature and other conditions.”

The discovery of the new objects, designated Bernhard-1 and Bernhard–2, is described in a paper being published July 4 in The Astrophysical Journal Letters.

The lead author is Wei Zhu from Tsinghua University, Beijing, formerly a postdoctoral fellow with the Faculty of Arts & Science’s Canadian Institute for Theoretical Astrophysics (CITA). Zanazzi and Poon are U of T co-authors.

Bernhard-1 and Bernhard-2 are so distant, we can’t see their two central stars individually (such pairs of stars are known as binary stars). Instead, we only see a single point of light and measure the total brightness of the binary.

The researchers identified the new objects by analyzing the complex and distinctive variations in brightness caused by their unusual geometry. A graph of those variations over time is referred to as a light curve and the light curves of the new systems match that of the first such system ever discovered—an object referred to as Kearns Herbst 15D (KH 15D).

The light curves of Bernhard-1 and Bernhard-2 dip to a fraction of their peak brightness—the former for 112 days every 192 days; the latter for 20 days every 62 days. These dips are the sign that one of the stars in each binary is moving behind the disk as seen from Earth. When the star re-emerges, the brightness of the system returns to normal.

Also, when the co-authors compared recent observations with archival data going back decades, they found that both objects varied in brightness over much longer periods. Previous analysis of KH 15D by Poon, Zhu and Zanazzi, along with the work of other researchers, concluded that this long-term pattern revealed that the disk and stars were at an angle to each other.

Because binary stars and their protoplanetary disks condense from the same vast, spinning cloud of material, the disk typically lies in the same plane as the orbits of the stars—just as the orbits of most of the planets and moons in our solar system lie on the same plane. Imagine two figure skaters, holding hands, twirling around each other while other skaters circle the pair; all are skating on the same plane of the surface of the ice.

But KH 15D, Bernhard-1 and Bernhard-2 are rare in that their circumbinary disks are at an angle to the planes of the orbiting stars. Because of this tilt, the disks wobble like a spinning top, a motion referred to as precession, as they move between us and the stars, causing the light of the central stars to dim. For KH 15D, that cycle of dimming could take anywhere from 60 to 6,000 years.

The two types of variations in brightness combine to create the signature light curve of KH 15D-like objects.

The discovery of Bernhard-1 and Bernhard-2 was made when Klaus Bernhard, an amateur astronomer and member of the Bundesdeutsche Arbeitsgemeinschaft für Veränderliche Sterne, analyzed data from the Zwicky Transient Facility. The ZTF’s instrument surveys the entire northern sky every two days, providing data for countless objects over long stretches of time.

Combing through the data, Bernhard uncovered KH 15D-like candidates. He then shared his findings with Poon, Zanazzi and Zhu whose further analysis revealed Bernhard-1 and Bernhard–2.

Now that the researchers have found two more of these rare celestial objects, they are optimistic more discoveries will follow.

“Just this month, Gaia released its most recent data,” says Zanazzi of the space mission that has been observing a billion stars in the Milky Way Galaxy since its launch in 2013. “And now that we have this model for these objects, we’re hopeful we can use it to find more objects to add to the list.”

“We’re also hopeful more observers will look at Bernhard-1 and Bernhard–2 for longer periods,” says Poon. “We’re lucky that KH 15D has been observed at a special time where its orientation causes the light of the central stars to dim. We’re confident that Bernhard-1 and Bernhard-2 also exist in this favorable orientation, so having more observations will increase our understanding of these rare objects.”
