Just in case
1. stop humbling yourself - when people tell you to “humble yourself” they are basically telling you to shrink your power, your voice and your self expression. don't hold yourself back and suppress your desires. you are deserving of the best.
2. use your insecurities - everyone has insecurities, even successful people but instead of letting insecurities hinder them, they embrace their qualities and learn to improve upon them. your diffracting qualities is another way you shine amongst others and is your gift. use it!
3. stop caring what others say - never let people's words and judgements affect you. someone else’s opinion has nothing to do with you. matter of fact in 5 years time is there opinion really going to matter once you've reached your highest potential?
4. stay focused on creating the life you want - instead of being caught up in everyone else and the latest gossip, set goals towards your dreams and focus on you. keep your eyes on the prize and keep improving your life. maintain your health, looks and wellbeing. you are more than capable to achieving your goals, so persist and believe in yourself.

Table Etiquette
A crash course on fine dining/ being invited to dinner at someone’s place. Even if you don’t fine dine, I’d recommend you start practicing these habits in any establishment so that they come to you naturally.
Remember : A typical four-course meal consists of a soup, an appetizer, an entrée, and dessert.
Keep at least one hand free. If you are standing, have only a drink or food in one hand, never both. Hold a drink in your left hand so that you have a clean hand for a handshake. You can eat and drink while sitting, but it is always better to stand and greet.
1. Wait to be seated by the staff/ host.
2. Napkin on your lap the minute you sit down at the table.
3. if you're looking at the menu, make sure to have the bottom, or at least one part of it, still touching the table, even if your impulse is to bring it closer to your face. Don’t lift the menu off the table to your nose.
4. Once you sip from a glass, you must sip from the exact same place on that glass for the rest of the evening.
5. If there’s a breadbasket and butter on your table - don’t dip the bread in the communal butter plate. Take a piece of the butter with your butter knife, put it on the side plate, then spread that butter on your bread. Don’t double dip! Your bread plate is the one on your left, by the way. And your glass will be on your right.
6. If your table has a lot of silverware - start from the outside and work your way in.
7. Dishes should be passed in a counter-clockwise flow. Don’t reach across the table.
8. Lay you fork and knife diagonally across the plate, side by side, pointing at 10:00 and 4:00 on a clock face. This signifies to the wait staff that you have finished.
9. Keep the rim of your plates as clean as possible, as a sign of respect to the staff.
1. Whilst eating Indian food/ in India, always eat with your right hand. The left hand should never touch the food. This is also seen in the Arab world - use only the thumb, index finger and middle finger to pick up food.
2. In Korea, one waits for the senior most person in the room to sit and eat, and is followed suit. Sharing is caring - food is often ordered to share with each other rather than individual plates.
3. Chopsticks etiquette (general): don’t stick and leave your chopsticks in your food perpendicular to the table, it signifies death. Don't set your chopsticks down pointed at another person at the table. Don't point your chopsticks at other people around the table.
4. France: bread on the table is meant to accompany the main dish, not as an appetiser.
What are some table manners that one should keep in mind if they’re eating food/ eating with someone of your culture?

I would love to do this every day 🧡🍊
Scones
this is the recipe that I make most often! it’s from martha stewart’s cookbook because she is a freaking cooking genius and I aspire to be like her one day
- four cups (480 grams) flour
- one cup (225 grams) cold butter
- one and a fourth cup (250 ml) milk
- two tablespoons sugar + (optionally) extra for sprinkling
- packet of backing powder (or one-two tablespoons)
- one teaspoon salt
- egg (optional)
1) preheat your oven to 180 degrees celsius and assemble your ingredients
2) in a mixing bowl, add the flour, salt, baking powder and sugar (you can sift the ingredients if you like but it’s optional!) and mix
3) add cubes of cold butter into the flour mixture—cold butter, not melted or it won’t work—and break up the butter until the mixture resembles coarse meal (it should look a bit like sand)
4) add in the milk—this is quite a dry dough, so don’t add too much!
5) this step is optional, but you can add in dried cranberries, apricots, blueberries—or go down the sweet road and pour in chocolate chips. or just keep the scones plain, this part really depends on your taste palate
6) use some kind of circular thing to cut out the scones—I use a small drinking glass
7) brush the tops of the scones with egg wash (I consider this step optional but it does elevate the taste) and sprinkle on sugar
8) bake in the oven for ten to fifteen minutes or until they’re golden brown on the top and enjoy!
- I put the egg as optional because while it does elevate the taste, it feels kind of useless since you can only use so much egg wash :( however you could put in some of the egg mixture (like, three-ish tablespoons??) into the dough since you can’t really taste is anyway
- continuing on the first note, it’s fine to just leave it out. I’ve replaced the egg wash with milk before and it turned out just fine :)
- for vegans: using vegan butter and plant milk should work (milks that don’t have a predominant taste work best here) I’ve never veganized the recipe though so please tell me how it goes if you do!!
- try not to overwork your dough since this causes the dough to become dense and chewy
- another harvest for lammas, I felt a sweeter more smooth butter would be a better aid for the season coming! -
ingredients
yields 3 4oz jars
• 10-15 large peaches, pitted and sliced but not skinned
protection, love, longevity
• 2 cups of sugar
sweetening, comfort
• 3/4 cup of honey
sweetening, prosperity, comfort
• 3 vanilla beans
happiness, healing, stress relief
directions
• boil peaches for 15 to 20 minutes in a covered stock pot
• blend peaches into a puree and transfer to a separate stock pot, you may reuse the remaining water for another batch if desired
I personally use a handheld blender, but if desired you can use a regular blender or a food processor
• mix peach puree, honey, vanilla and sugar together
• boil the pot until the sugar melts completely and then simmer for around 60 minutes
• transfer butter to sterilized jars and boil jars in a hot water bath for 5 minutes.
This is a classic dish, some of you may better know as Labskovs but there's heaps of variations of it! It's a winter favorite for me and always cook tons of it; it's better shared and honestly is one of those recipes that's always better the next day! 🤎 It can be easily adjusted to whatever leftovers you have around(meat, veggies, portions, etc.). For my own practice, I often take the act of making it and make that an offering to Hel and when the stew is done it's an offer to Loki's family, landvættir, and make it a community meal. Do what you please with it and I do hope you enjoy my take on the recipe, please share any photos if you make it!
5lbs of potatoes - russet is preferred, anything that's flowery
2lbs of chuck steak
4 1/2 cups of water
1 large onion or 1 1/2 medium sized ones
1lbs of baby bellas sliced(I often change this out with whatever we have leftover, sometimes carrots, leeks, or cabbage)
6 bay leaves
5 thyme sprigs or 3/4 tsp of dried thyme
whole garlic clove
4tbsp of butter
2tbsp of pepper
1tbsp of coarse salt
a dutch oven or large sauce pan
To garnish:
6tbsp of chopped chives
Sauerkraut or pickled beets
loaf of bread on the side - we tend to favor potato or rye
Heat 2tbsp of the butter in your pan at medium heat. While the pan is warming cut the steak into one inch cubes.
Add the steak to the butter and and brown slightly. Then immediately add the water and gradually bring the water to a boil. [Skim all the froth off the service].
Add the onions, mushrooms, whatever vegetables you chose, bay, thyme, cloves, pepper + salt into the pot. Let it simmer for an hour.[Do not let it boil!]
While the stew is simmering, cut(and peel if you want) your potatoes into 1inch cubes. Add them to the pot and let it simmer for another hour or until the meat falls apart easily and is tender.
Drain off the excess water and add the remaining butter to the pot. Stir clockwise until mixed and mashed, but keep the potatoes a little lumpy.
Serve with your garnishes and enjoy! Let it cool before storing in the fridge.

cabbage(sauerkraut) - ancestral magic + old wisdom(cabbage is supposedly one the oldest vegetables known to man), protection, moon oriented magic
garlic - courage + strength, healing, spell breaking + shielding
pepper - banishing negativity + cleansing(I like to use intent for the hearth because the whole home is smelling like stew in the end), protection

Pick ingredients for your coffee that align with your ambitions for the day.
It can be used as an offering to deities, spirits, ancestors, etc.(e.g. for Sif I sweeten the coffee with oat milk + honey but for Hel I leave the coffee black for an offering)
Consider the way you stir! Counterclockwise banishes and repels negativity, clockwise invites + brings energy to you.
Stain pages for you journal, spell work, or book of shadows! You can also use a strong brewed coffee and a paint brush to paint sigils onto the pages! .

Emoji spell to bring luck to your romantic love life; help increase the chance of your crush returning your feeling ect.
Hello everyone and Happy New Year! It’s been a while since I last posted something, but something interesting happened to me for the last few days and I want some input about it. As you may know, I live on a large plot of land in my neighborhood and we tend to get a lot of animals crossing(heh) into my yard. A few days ago, we have been getting a lot of hawks, circling around in the back. I thought nothing of it at first, but the next day, there was a hawk on my bench. I didn’t notice it at first because I was getting a package until I looked over. It didn’t seem to be threatening or defensive, just curious and stared at me, even after I went back inside.
I’m hoping to get an answer to what this means
