Omg I can’t believe it’s been 3 years since I first got into LOTF (scheduled for the exact day). Even if I’m not as heavily into it as I was 3 years ago from now it’s still crazy to me how these silly little British boys have consumed my mind and left no crumbs. And they are still there. Watching. Waiting.

Edit: Changed 4 to 3 upon remembering that 2020 was only 3 years ago at the time of writing this post.

There is a movement in my school that is focusing on banning Lord of the Flies, The Great Gatsby, and Where The Red Fern Grows (as well as a few others) and unfortunately it’s gaining some traction. The teachers all had to attend an assembly about it where the kids presented their ideas, and my English teacher (who knows me as the local Lord of the Flies girl) told me that she was so close to pulling me out of class to debate them on it.

Anyways, just super annoyed that those books may be removed from the curriculum.
