apollyodon:

Every time I see someone try to say John’s ‘more feminine features’ came out in the 70s, I want to bloody scream.

I would really like to know what people you see every day that has convinced you that a underfed, heroin riddled skeletal frame is what counts as ‘feminine features’.

The man was bulimic, lived off of heroin and was depressed as all fuck… but okay, sure, keep telling yourselves that’s ‘his natural feminine features’.

Just kindly never talk to me.

I just realized why this further annoys me, literally just…

When shit like this happens in the modeling industry it’s ‘horrifying’ and ‘needs to stop’.

Happens to a man in an emotionally and mentally abusive relationship?

Suddenly it’s ‘attractive’ and ‘his feminine features coming out’.

John Lennon was not healthy in the 70s. At all. Physically, emotionally or mentally. Gushing and cooing over it, in any way, is disturbing.

Physical ‘features’ that come out as result of self-starvation, drug and alcohol abuse, depression and deteriorating relationships/being in an abusive relationship are not attractive. They are symptoms and silent cries for help.

here’s a few tips, especially if you’re cis:

someone’s AGAB is not your fucking business

someone’s deadname is not your fucking business

someone’s transition is not your fucking business

someone’s gender dysphoria is not your fucking business

someone’s previous labels and identities are none of your fucking business

if you know someone’s deadname, just fucking ignore it. do NOT EVER introduce a trans person or talk about them like “this is steve but he used to be sarah” or “my friend steve whose deadname is sarah” or anything like that. just shut the fuck up if you don’t think you could possibly NOT do that.

9/10 depictions of trans people in media especially film/shows is wrong and stereotypical.

transphobia is a wildly different experience than homophobia

maybe? look up? transgender labels? and identities? so you aren’t constantly asking someone what their label means? or just use? logic and common sense? like oh i wonder what genderfluid means oh maybe it means a FLUID GENDER oh gee could it be?

trans people never ever NEED to disclose that they are trans, and if someone doesn’t tell you that they’re trans but you later find out? don’t confront them!! they did not “lie to you”, you just assume that everyone is cis, which is weird and transphobic!!

again do not ever ask someone what their deadname is or what there AGAB is just don’t, do not, not ever. you have no reason to need that information, you do not deserve that information, just shut up.

Tumblr users are often so arrogant and it shows. They can draw a full cast of POC characters but when POC say “Hey we want more than just our skin tone” they’re suddenly deaf as shit.

Representation on Tumblr has become a way for white people to win brownie points just because they took a Hershey’s bar and slapped it onto a person’s skin tone.

The most disgusting thing is that they insist on making JUST African-Americans. They insist on making JUST one facial type, one nose type, one lip type, one hair type, one slang type, one skin tone.

And when they make a person Asian, it’s Japanese. And when they make a person Hispanic, it’s Mexican. And when they make a person indigenous, they never specify on which tribe/nation they came from, but you’ll bet they’re Native AMERICAN.

But my favorite part is when other POC demand representation and those same fucking white people are like “But but but look at all my black characters!!!!”

POC isn’t just confined to America.

POC isn’t just black.

POC isn’t just Japanese.

POC isn’t just Mexican.

POC isn’t just Native American.

It’s from the Miskitu in Nicaragua, from the highlands of Ethiopia, from the deserts of Saudi Arabia, from the mountains of Indonesia. It’s from the arroz con gandules, from the folk music, from the festivals. It’s many cultures blending, it’s speaking more than just English, it’s dealing with racism unique to our countries of origin.

It’s more than just one universal experience, and white Tumblr isn’t willing to show that.

lmao i lost at least 7 followers after reblogging that…. anyway if you exclude nonbinary people you’re ignoring the white stripe of the trans flag; aces and aros are not straight and thus lgbt+ because theyre literally not attracted to the opposite sex, trans women are real women, and physical dysphoria is not required to be considered trans
