[ID copied from alt: A digital painting of Parker from the chin down. He is standing in front of a bathroom mirror with one hand on the sink and holding a razor in the other. Shaving supplies are piled along the back of the sink. In the background of the mirror is a doorway, and through that we can see Arthur sitting at his piano, staring distractedly at Parker with a blush on his cheeks.]
do you think parker and arthur ever—
This was inspired by a discussion in the Dreamlands server of Parker being Arthur’s gay awakening as they shared that tiny apartment.
details under the cut!
I started this last October and Procreate tells me i spent 45 hours on it 😭 i feel like my rendering skills were completely different at the start from what they became by the end
[ID copied from ALT: A four panel comic showing Noel, Arthur and John during the diner scene in part 39. Panel one: Noel, with his coffee cup to his lips, says “Well, I appreciate the perspective, but… with respect. I was asking John.” Panel two: John, blushes, says “W… What?”, while Arthur, with a shocked expression says, “Oh. I…” Panel three: Noel tilts his coffee cup towards Arthur and says “Presumably, John can hear me.” In the fourth panel, John smiles wide and says “I can.” Arthur says “He… I can.”
Two sketches based on malevolent part 39. The first sketch shows a bust of Arthur looking offended while John looks uncertain. Arthur says “you think I couldn’t do that if I could just see again?” And John says “well. I don’t know that’s why I’m asking”. An arrow points to a second sketch showing Arthur kicking a crying bleeding man into the floor while John looks down nervously. End ID.]
My two favorite parts of this episode were “John gets to experience a human connection” and “Arthur curb stomps a guy just to prove he can, probably.”
Bonus Noel/Charlie concept sketches and lil Arthur and Noel colors under the cut
so that new ep huh
[Start ID: Meme from Malevolent podcast. Title says "Who wouldge?". Below on the left is the Butcher holding a piano wire taut in front of his face and starting threateningly at the viewer. Most of his face is obscured by the dark shadow of his hat. Text says "The Butcher. Notorious serial killer for hire who has evaded capture from multiple police systems for decades". To the right is Oscar looking meek and holding a bedpan in one hand. Text says "It is Oscar". End ID.]
lots of malevolent art and concepts around John covering Arthur's eyes and that's good, great even, a major theme of the podcast in fact. but not nearly enough art of Arthur covering John's mouth.
Arthur and John in Dreamlands, a first piece about the new obsession, the Malevolent podcast. My life's still at the "horror is my comfort genre because the reality is worse anyway" level, and these two are keeping me sane, as wild as it sounds. And the beautiful picasso jasper with desert-like pattern
[ID copied from ALT: Arthur and John standing in front of a lancet window, pictured from the waist up. Arthur is wearing a henley undershirt, suspenders, and slacks. John is portrayed as a tall, dark, skeletal figure with a cracked white mask. His left forearm is attached via stitches. Both figures are slightly turned away from one another. Arthur's hand is over John's mouth while John's hand is over Arthur's eyes. The piece is colored in shades of yellow. End ID.]
yknow that post about there not being enough art of Arthur covering John's mouth
ten times divorced idiots <3
[ID copied from ALT: Arthur Lester, a man with short, curly, brown hair, a thin mustache, the top part of his right ear missing, and visible scars next to his right eye and on his neck, stands on a dark corridor, holding up a lighter with his left hand, facing towards the viewer. He is wearing a dark blue pinstripe three-piece suit, a muted red tie, and a long brown coat. The corridor he is standing in is dark and tilted strangely to the right. At the end of the corridor behind Arthur there's a door hanging slightly open, with bright red light spilling out through the crack. On the wall to Arthur's left there are two framed silhouette portraits of two young women facing each other. A swirling dark mass filled with eyes and grinning teeth that seems to be coming out of the crack in the door is clinging on the ceiling and spilling down the wall towards the two portraits. On the wall to Arthur's right there is a dark shadow that seems to be cast by him, looming tall with two shiny yellow pinpricks of light positioned as its eyes. Right against the shadow's elbow there is a dusty mirror, and reflected on it is an arm clothed in tattered yellow robes, ending on a dark inhuman hand holding a lighter, mirroring Arthur's left arm. End ID.]
Neglected to post this earlier because of life stuff going on, but belatedly here's my piece for the @malevolent-fanzine, inspired by the early episodes of season 4 and the boarding house.
