It's less that he's shaken by the fact that he almost died, and more by the fact that he would have died a hero. A man willing to die for the justice of the denizens of Hell, believing in the friends he has to carry out the mission. And it's THAT fact, that possibility that his reputation would have been RUINED if not for pure dumb luck on his part, scares him. He would have been fine dying, he wouldn't give a shit if it was in the blaze of glory. But the fact that he would have died a HERO is what scares him more.

THAT'S how you write a good villain.

Btw, I am fully convinced Owen is the reason his family is in prison 75% of the time

I highly recommend inviting your friends to do randomly romantic & weird fun stuff. Invite them to a picnic at the park and show up with a kite. Throw tea parties with tiny finger sandwiches. Have a Crafts Day where everyone gets to decorate their own hats/accessories/teacups for future tea parties. Encourage shenanigans & surprises! Host a Costume Movie Night but put a different theme on each invitation (formal wear, pajamas, last year's halloween costume)! Drink sparkling juice out of champagne glasses during a Board Game Night where the winners have to speak in a character accent for the rest of the evening. Infinite possibilities, but it's your job to manifest them!

If you want a fun weird friend group, first you must encourage fun weirdness!!! Cultivate the garden you want to live in.

How the hell had one lowly DSS agent been able to steal all three of his most prized possessions?

Brixton knew he should have killed the man himself! And not let his incompetent underlings dispose of the giant nuisance

Now, all three symbiotes were gone, not a trace of where they went

Brixton had no idea what Hobbs was planning on doing with them

"It's so hard to find good help nowadays, wouldn't you agree?"

Turning swiftly, Brixton's eyebrows rose in shock as a little girl stood behind him. He wasn't sure he had ever seen a ten year with such a sinister smile

"What are you doing here?" He asked gently. "There's no way you should have gotten in."

"You'll see that I'm full of surprises." The girl's face almost split in two with the smile she sent him

In a blink of an eye, a grey goo jumped from the girl's skin and straight for Brixton

Luke bit down on his smile as he could feel the curiosity and pure happiness flowing from Deckard. The symbiote's emotions mixed with Luke's amusement and gave them a bit of a high

Ever since Roman and Owen had bonded, Roman was practically jumping for joy as he tried to describe every human food to he alien. It had been hilarious to see the green goo shivering in excitement as Roman went on

Now, the warehouse they were hiding in had several long table covered from end to end with various foods

And all three symbiotes were looking at it with awe

"Please...?"

The question echoed softly in his head and Luke couldn't help but think the symbiote was adorable as he asked for permission

"Go for it, princess."

Stepping up to the tables, Luke saw Ramsey and Roman already letting their own piles of goo to jump right in

It was honestly fascinating to watch and listen to the reactions the aliens had to human food

All three loved sweets, of course, but it seemed like Hattie had a thing for noodles, while Owen went for every single spicy food he could get. Meanwhile, Deckard sampled everything and purred in delight with every bite

"Here. This is one of your favorites, right?"

Blinking, Luke looked down to see Deckard holding a slice of pizza in his sharp teeth and offering it to him

"Yeah, it is. How'd you know?" Luke asked and took the slice

"I can read your mind, silly human." Deckard chuckled
