Have you ever thought “Man, I wish I could run a zine for this very specific pairing/topic, but only three other people care about it” and sighed discouragingly but wistfully? Great news — we now have a solution for this ever-recurring problem. What if you could make a zine with, like, six contributors tops? Introducing MCYT Flash Zine!

This is a community space dedicated to the promotion, development, and creation of small-scale fandom zines modeled after the original definition of “zine” — an eight-page project on a very specific topic that can be printed onto a single piece of paper and folded into a miniature booklet.

Our Discord for flashzine development and creation is open to the public, for fan creators aged 18+. Please note that NSFW content and zines are welcomed in this space, and therefore minors may not join the Discord.

Content Creators and the comic

Do not tag any of the CCs, nor send the comic to the CCs!

⁠If they end up finding the comic or fan art, be normal about it. Don’t make it a big deal.

⁠When making fanart/fanfics don’t make anything that breaks any of the involved CCs boundaries

Reupload and Reposting the comic/ DDVAU official art

Do not reupload full parts of the comic without permission, even if it’s translation. Ask Doody or Maruu first.

⁠Don’t print or use the comic and its art for commercial use.

Reuploading parts of the comic for reaction or theories its okay.

When reuploading official art (not part of the comic) from either Doody or Maruu, remember to credit us as the artist

When interacting with the community in any platform

⁠Tag your content correctly so people can mute tags that make them uncomfortable or they don’t want to see.

Remember that when you upload shipping content (live reaction or art) on Tumblr/Twitter, always use the #Hermitshipping / #Trafficshipping tags. Just because a lot of people here are comfortable with shipping doesn’t mean the entire fandom is.

Hey kid you want a job?

Great get online and go to a job board. Indeed, Linkedin whatever. Now you're gonna search for a role that's in your city, fits your qualifications, and doesn't seem like a bad time.

See that easy apply button? Don't hit it they just throw those in the trash. Now you're gonna want to go to the company's website and check their careers page.

Oh? That job doesn't exist anymore. Cool go back to the job board and find another one.

Great you found another job, you're on the company's career page and the job exists!! So you're going to need to make an account on the career page website. They're using Workday, the same site as the last job you applied for? Who cares? You need to make another account for THIS job's workday page.

Now you're going to upload your resume. That'll autopopulate about 15 boxes with everything on your resume, except formatted wrong and with tons of errors. So just go through and painstakingly check the dates on all of that and rewrite everything you already laid out in an aesthetically pleasing format on your resume.

Ok time for the cover letter, explain why this specific job and company are deeply important to you. You love their mission statement and wouldn't even laugh if their ceo was gunned down in the street. You'll really want to reiterate the things you just spent the last 20 minutes filling out on the resume section

(Remember to include language from the job description, people who work in HR are lower than dogs and they need patterns or they get confused.) Write about a page, but hey don't sound too desperate or robotic this is where they judge your character!

Maybe add your portfolio site at the end here, who knows if that helps no one has ever clicked mine haha.

To celebrate the 2 year anniversary of Double-Hearted (DDVAU) on November 4th, a group of us fans have put together a drawing/writing prompt list for the whole month of November!

What is Double-Hearted (DDVAU)?

Double-Hearted is a comic created by Doody (@kitsuneisi) and Maruu (@xmaruu11) based off of Hermitcraft and the Life Series. It follows the adventures and misadventures of Scar and Grian as they navigate their double lives—one as the beloved celebrity hero Hotguy, the other as popular vigilante Cuteguy, both unaware they're coworkers at the same university.

Can I start working on it now?

Of course! We wanted to give plenty of time so people can start preparing now to help avoid burnout. Feel free to participate as much or as little as you’d like as well. Late uploads are also a-okay!

What if I'm not an artist?

We tried our best to make most of the prompts writer-friendly as well with the exceptions of Day 22 and Day 30, but feel free to use those as two more free days instead!

What's up with the bonus Day?

At the request of Maruu themself, we've added a bonus day at the very beginning for the first completed arc of Double-Hearted! Since the Mother Spore arc takes place on October 31st, it’s only fitting.

Based on Scarian Death Game AU by sadagios, where an anon left a rather interesting idea to Sada. Mal took great inspiration from anon and Sada’s ideas, and formed a storyline revolving around them. She shared them with Sada, and thus, a new au of the original au was formed. Scarian Dating Game AU was now up and running!

Strange things happen to Gria, a game dev for “Evolutionist’s Portal”, after he takes home a disc with a dating sim game on it. His obsession with a character from the popular game series “Hermitopia” finally catches up with him, but at what cost? Through glitches and crashes, mixed feelings and concerning behaviors, perhaps what would have once been a dream turns into a horrible nightmare. But where will the story take you? Only you can decide your ending.

Gria was in need of a couple of spare parts to fix one of the appliances at his apartment, and where better to go for absolutely random parts than Big Ron’s down the corner? While the store associate, Bee, who was most certainly a college student taking a summer job, searched in the back for a slightly more obscure piece, Gria takes the time to look around at all the items dotted about the store. He swears there’s always something different each time he pops in, and it’s always interesting to see.

Then he spots something that is definitely out of place. Not that it’s strange to see a loose disc here, but it’s not with the others, and is just barely poking out from between two books sitting on a shelf. He slides it out, with the intention of putting it back into the bin of loose discs. But the clearly handwritten words on it catch his eye, rather than it having a printed image with text. ‘Project: HotGuys Dating Simulator’. He looks it over, and you know, he’s kinda bored, so why not check it out? It probably won’t be any good, but it can be something to just pass the time.
