There’s one thing I always think of when I hear “how could you let it get so bad?” and similar phrases. It’s in the comments of every video of matted hair or a dirty kitchen.

I think the appropriate response is “what would have to happen to you for you to let it get that bad?” And when you think about that question, and the horrifying answers that come with it, you almost certainly have more sympathy for the person you were being judgemental to.

Why are universities and colleges obsessed with packing as much as possible into a shortened term? I’m trying to figure out where and what I want to get degree in, and I keep running into the issue of 6.5-8 week terms that are normally 14-16 weeks long.

It’s fine and dandy if you can adjust to that schedule and learning pace, but I have several disabilities that make this extreme learning obsession impossible and very defeating. Not everyone can do that and so many schools don’t accommodate for that because it’s built into the basic degree structure! Does anyone else feel the insanity of this? Get your degree in half the time but burn out before you finish. That’s super healthy! /sarcasm

So I know many of you are still in school, so I’m going to share some tips that I think might help.

• If you can, try to work ahead. That way, you’ll have less stress on you hands.

• Make a to-do list of your school work. That way, you’ll be a bit more organized and not so overwhelmed.

• Don’t be afraid to ask your instructor for help. After all, that’s what they’re for, right?

• If you’d like, you also ask for some extra credit (if your instructor allows it). This will give you extra points and make you grade better.

• If you have issues with studying (like me lol) you can try and find a study group that might help. Like you and your friends can study together. It’s better that studying alone in my opinion.

• If you need accommodations, talk to your instructor about it. Like if you need some extra time on tests, or needing to sit near the front of the class if you can’t see well.

That’s all the tips I can think of at the moment.

This is coming from my own experience in school/college, so some tips may not be as helpful as others. But I hope you all find it helpful in some way.
