Why did you buy that, why did you invest in a restaurant? Basically I was very unsure as to what was going on in that area of my life at that point. Whether I wanted to go back to school since I wasn’t able to start that first semester or whether I wanted to come in mid term. Or whether I was going to play on the tour and support Erik and there were expectations of that. I was sort of all over the place. In talking with my uncles, basically this feeling that I should do something and focus on something and I picked that.

Erik talks about how he felt when he had to testify for the first time.

I remember being terrified about taking the stand. I was, really really really afraid. So afraid, I remember the day I was supposed to testify I took My Xanax, and I took Lyle's Xanax. I couldn't handle it. They had to cancel my first day on the stand because of it. And now I got watched when I took Xanax after that cause I was just, my anxiety was through the roof.

I remember when I first took the stand. I was blanking out. I, I, I – It was terrible. And after that, I just began to shut down. I remember when I first got on the stand I started shutting down. I started to describe what my dad had, - had been doing to me from the time I was a kid. And I just started to be able to talk about it and I couldn't even think.
