So I've been watching greys anatomy and something I love so dearly is how Alex and sometimes Sloan treated Meredith.
I know Alex is a complete asshole for the majority of seasons 1 and 2 however he always made sure to be there for Meredith. When Meredith slept with George and everyone else got mad at her for some unknown fucking reason Alex was the one who stood up and said hey get the fuck over yourself stop wandering around like a hurt puppy so she doesn't like you get over it. It happens sometimes. I don't understand why George got so fucking butthurt that she started crying during sex. Yes, rejection sucks ass but unfortunately this isn't some fantasy world where you'll hear yes to you ask of someone. I was so shocked Cristina didn't stand up for Meredith and you know I think Addison would have stood up for her because anyone can change their yes to a no at any point during sex. But George didn't get that and oh my God he was such a good character up until that point. I really enjoyed his arc with Bailey he was the best person for that specific time but jeez they ruined his character and turned someone genuinely sweet into a "nice guy"
ANYWAYS ONTO SLOAN.
Why I kind of like Sloan (except for him referring to her as an intern emotionally in season 4 ) Is the specific instance of the bone graft thing on Ava. Meredith had just lost her mother and almost died and came back. Everyone treated her as something fragile who could not be a hard-core surgeon. Yes I do think part of him wanted to win points with Webber for Chief of Surgery. But also, Mark Sloan was never going to get Chief of Surgery. I really like that he gave her something to show everyone that yes she's been through some tough shit lately, but she is still a more than capable surgeon.
The main issue with season 2 and the writers condensing 4 more seasons into 1 is they lost the plot.
The 1st season introduced Zaun and Piltover and the class divide between it.
Vi and Jinxs story begins as a result of It. Jinx literally says herself the cycle of death began long before her and vi, long before silco and Vander.
In the alternate universe it's so good not only because hextech was never invented but also because Heimerdinger was there for over 1000 days(can't remember the exact amount) before ekko even got there. And I'm assuming after spending time in the undercity he truly saw the changes he needed to make and used that time to make those changes. However the problem with Heimerdinger is that he was content to stay there and ultimately forsake his original world. Which just proves to us he's perpetuating the ongoing cycle of selfishness from the council. Which is unfortunately a characteristic of oppressors. Selfishness and a willing to forsake a people in order to uplift and protect their own. And that will always be what seperates Zaunites from those who live in Piltover. Ekko couldn't stay there it was too selfish to forget about the problems of his own world and steal the life of that reality's Ekko.
The main conflict of season 2 ends up being Viktors eugenics story and Ambessas grasp for power. When that ends we see Piltover rebuilding with Sevika taking a council members chair. While that is nice, what should have happened is the arcane arc and we had another season to explore the problems between Zaun and Piltover being fixed and Zaun becoming a thriving part of Piltover.
Since we keep getting "live action" CGI remakes of already perfectly adequate animated movies, and because people need to understand that animation is a medium and not a genre, I have prepared this primer about the importance of Visual Language for Conveying Information.
Can you tell what the personalities of these two mice are?
Can you tell now?
Which of these two tigers feels safer to be around?
Which of these three dogs is the funniest one?
If you can answer these questions, then you already have experience with the idea of visual language and stylistic choices being used to impart narrative meaning. If you can understand why these choices were made to impart meaning, then you can understand why animation is a medium for telling stories that has its own inherent value, and is not merely a "placeholder" for the eventual implementation of photorealistic presentation (aka "Live Action" CGI). Animation does not need to be "corrected" or "legitimized" by remaking it into the most representational simulation of observable reality.
Those who shine brightest, often burn fastest
The rage I get from people referring to Arial as "brat font" is immeasurable
This is "brownie glazed lips" and "blueberry milk nails" all over again
No bc the only way I survived not having any arcane content for the last 3 years was forcing myself to forget the show existed. Genuinely even though it's one of my favourite shows.

I was just having a discussion about Romeo and Juliet adaptations, specifically about how when adapting the characters, there are certain aspects of them that are the cores of their characters that you just have to keep in order to maintain their integrity/keep them recognizable.
For example, when creating a Mercutio, the core of his character is that he will die. Mercutio is reckless, impulsive, he will ALWAYS get himself into something that will result in his death. Meanwhile, on the exact opposite end of the spectrum, the core of any version of Benvolio is that he ends up being the only one left alive.
So my point in all of this is, I wish. even just for a moment. a few chapters. a brief era of the book. whatever. that there had been a time when Benedikt believed he was the only one of the four of them left alive. The need to see this absolute rock bottom version of him has taken over my mind. It would just be so endlessly interesting to see. Can anyone hear me.
NO ONE NOT ONE SINGLE PERSON WARNED ME HOW SAD THE BATFAM IS
