I’ve been meaning to write this for a while so here we go.
Since comic book era, original Fenris, Andreas and Andrea ‘too sexy for my shirt’ von Strucker were twins. Strictly canon speaking, Andreas is their grandfather and the Fenris was passed down to them through him.
But why not make the grandkids twins too? It would have been easy enough to find similar looking actors for Lauren and Andy. So why?
Twins are symbolically, metaphorically, romantically (not literal romance, but Romanticism e.g. Byronic) two halves of one whole. They shared the womb, there’s nothing closer than that. Even in reality, twins are often extremely close and sometimes excessively dependent on each other.
But Lauren is Andy’s older sister. It established significant time and space between them. They were relatively close, judging by the few pre-mutant power development scenes, but nowhere near the closeness of twins. They led very different lives and clearly didn’t interact much in school. Lauren literally let him get dragged away by his bullies during the dance. Yeah, blame social pressure or whatever but she did. Had they had that deep connection of twindom, she would have felt for him and would have stormed after them immediately.
Think about what they said after they held hands that day in the park and later on. ‘I couldn’t stop thinking about it’. ‘All I want to do is try that again’. All of this built and accumulated to the point of dream sharing and inter-empathetic connection. The writers are basically screaming about how connected these two are. Over and over again, we hear Andy missing Lauren and only Lauren. The only reason we don’t see Lauren losing her shit over him too is because she felt guilty after she murdered people with the Fenris gift.
But their deep, unbreakable connection isn’t based on their sibling relationship. It’s based on their mutant one. And this mutant relationship affected them body and soul, leading them to say things like ‘We belong together’.
tldr; making them twins would have been too easy and the audience needed to see them as separate people instead of ‘the twins’

And, one’s gotta love that Myfy had to just run to Eliza! ❤️
Gestalt got mad when Ingrid implied that they don't know Myfanwy as well as they thought👀
Myfanwy and Gestalt and the argument of doom. [Part 1/2]
Dark Phoenix fell through at the box office, the output of the New Mutants was once again postponed. 😓😓😓
Gifted is a finished story for going to the screens with a wonderful cast. 😍😍😍In order for us not to have a classic team of X-Men, because their plots were repeatedly screened and not always successful. Half of the plot points are already known, by names you can already guess about the future change of sides.
💥Strucker’s sibling💥 can enter new teams at the same time with TV series Runaways, Cloak and Dagger, etc. The underground of mutants, the Hellfire Club is a space for imagination.
Plus, don't forget about the Strucker family's connection with the 💚Hydra💚 and the TV series Shield Agents.
Myfanwy and Gestalt's kiss ❤😍 I love this show
