It’s that time of year where for months I cry over Dracula being a love letter to humanity. There are good people in the word despite the monsters. There is love despite the horrors. There is light despite the dark.
Herr Englishman turn back you are full of das deathflagsten
Eternally fond of the way Jonathan says ✨excellent supper✨ each time in Re: Dracula

I am loving the building excitement in the Dracula Daily fandom...We’re not even halfway through April but people are posting memes and giggling...Jonathan's trip to the Carpathians is almost upon us! It's like Advent for Harker fans.
(Was making a Moon Knight meme and accidentally reset the base image into something infinitely funnier.)
Women can write m/m. Men can write f/f. Asexuals can write filthy smut. Lesbians and gay men can write m/f. It's all arbitrary anyway. Who give a shit.
Just started reading Dracula and I gotta say I'm really enjoying the letters from Lucy. A little break from the horror to enjoy a gossip session is just what I need right now.
I sure do hope nothing bad happens to her.
Love how often in Dracula everyone is like "oh no, Mina we can't subject your woman's heart to this horror, it may give out from the fright" while shes literally the smartest most equipped person in the book, meanwhile they keep giving Jonathan important, terrifying tasks despite him having trauma induced seizures everytime he sees someone with a beard
hyperfixation please stay with me long enough to complete the project. hyperfixation do not fade. hyperfixation finish what you started for the love of god
I love reading classic books because I get part way through one and I suddenly realise that despite its prevalence in pop culture, I don't actually know what it's about, or how it ends.
and that is great. because then I get to read the rest of it and then, finally, I sit there and I go "oh, fuck, THAT'S why it's a classic!"
