I'm exhausted by this constant pretense that we live in an equal world, as though sexist slurs like 'bitch' or 'mf' exist in isolation. These words are never neutral, they always target women.

And yet, men brush it off, claiming they don’t mean it literally or justifying it because one or two women told them it’s okay. But they never question why these slurs are always rooted in women’s degradation. Misogyny is normalized, ignored and excused at every turn.

Now that's a topic for some other day but did you notice how the suffering of women have been disregarded for so long? How no one cares about what a women goes through as long the the pain doesn't befalls on them?

I find bathroom signs demeaning not only because the women sign wearing a skirt is supposed to be what makes it a woman, but also because the male sign is just a blank normal body, suggesting that the male body is default and the female body is the “other.” A skirt does not make someone a woman, and the male body is not the normal/default.
