In the broadway musical of TLM, Ursula gets her nautilus shell from her father. I'd like to think Azul gets a necklace of his own from his mama.

Notes: I give octomers beak-like teeth. I HC that Azul would like to watch his mama get ready for her day. I feel he'd associate necklaces and jewelry with her and they go on to give him a sense of comfort because of it.
