Alright so this is for that anon that asked me to make a compilation list of all the Naruto fanfics/tropes I mentioned in my most popular Naruto post yet. (read here)

So let’s sit back, relax, make a playlist of songs like Never Had a Dream Come True and Every Time We Touch and the It’s a Lot Like Romeo and Juliet songand head back to the years 2007 because we have some nostalgic fic reads to go through. I couldn’t find all the ones I talked about/remembered reading over the years but god damn did the ones that did turn up yield a great harvest.

She also has a familial relationship with Sai and Shikamaru)

Perfect Enemy (this one was fucking wild because Sakura go from dating Sasuke to dating Neji who cheats on her by making out with Tenten so she becomes a rogue nin and somehow join the Akatsuki and it turns out she this reincarnation and they straight up take scenes from Teen Titans on Cartoon network involving Terra and Beast Boy being Deidara in all this)

“Is this love?” Adora hissed sarcastically as she pressed Catra up against a wall in some secluded hall of Frosta’s castle. Maybe here Adora would be able to get some useful information out of Catra. “Come on, Catra, stop messing around. What are you planning?”

“I’m not planning anything,” Catra said in that voice that Adora knew meant Catra was both lying and laughing at her. She shoved Catra a little harder into the wall.

“You’re lying and we both know it,” she hissed, “Tell me.”

“What, a girl can't take her new best friend to a Princess Ball?” Catra purred teasingly. “A girl can’t make new friends? You seemed to have made so many new friends,” Catra’s voice lowered, losing its playful edge and gaining something a little more dangerous.

“You have to be planning something. You hate making new friends,” Adora said darkly.

Catra scoffed and looked away. “Yeah, well, unlike some people, I was happy with just one.”

Adora clenched her jaw. “It’s not too late to come with me,” Adora tried, which was exactly the wrong thing to say, because as soon as the words left Adora’s mouth, Catra scrunched up her face in a sharp scowl and pushed Adora off of her. They grappled for a few moments before Catra managed to gain the upper hand and pinned Adora to the wall instead. They both faced each other, panting hard for a few moments.

“I wan’t enough for you,” Catra hissed, pushing Adora more firmly into the wall.

“I asked you to come with me,” Adora hissed back. “Nothing is good enough for you unless it’s your idea. God forbid I want anything!”

“You?” Catra scoffed. “You got everything! Shadow Weaver gave you everything!”

“I didn’t ask her to do that! I tried my best to help you and protect you from her!” Adora shot back.

“Yeah, well, obviously you didn’t try hard enough,” Catra spat.

Adora sucked in a sharp breath, tears stinging her eyes. They were both silent for a beat after that. “Catra...” Adora breathed, a small plead in her voice.

Catra’s eyes met hers for a moment and Adora reached forward to hold onto Catra’s lapels. Adora’s not sure who leaned in first, but soon they were kissing. Catra’s lips were soft and warm and tasted faintly of the grey protein bars they both loved back in the Fright Zone.

Catra’s rough tongue smoothed along Adora’s bottom lip, silently asking for entry, which Adora easily gave. Adora let out a soft gasp as their tongues touched, her hands tightening on Catra’s lapels. Catra sucked Adora’s bottom lip into her mouth before nibbling softly on it. Adora felt herself melt into Catra in front of her.

Eventually, though, Catra pulled away. Adora let out a little noise of disappointment and tried to follow. Catra pushed her back against the ice, more gently than any time before.

“I need to go,” Catra said, her voice a little lower than normal, and despite how the content of the words made her heart drop, the sound made her shiver.

“Why?” Adora asked, her voice small.

“This was a mistake,” Catra said instead of replying. She pulled away completely and ran off. And as much as Adora wanted to run after her to tell her that wasn’t fair, she couldn’t. She couldn’t even move.
