“Plehehehease! Ryuu! I cahahan’t— I can’t take anymohohore!” Atsushi wheezed as Akutagawa tickled him relentlessly. Akutagawa raised an eyebrow, but then noted just how exhausted Atsushi was. His face was flushed pink and his eyes looked teary. He couldn’t always handle being tickled for this long, and Akutagawa knew he had definitely had more than enough.

Akutagawa pulled back from his hips and sat awkwardly, unsure of where to place his hands. He finally settled for rubbing Atsushi’s head gently. Atsushi was still giggling, but he leaned into Akutagawa’s touch anyway, smiling.

“Do you need anything?” Akutagawa asked, suddenly worried. He hadn’t meant to tickle Atsushi for as long as he did, he just got carried away sometimes listening to his laugh and watching his reactions. Atsushi shook his head, letting his head fall back into the couch pillow. Akutagawa frowned.

Actually my most favorite headcanon for him, was put forth by @awkward-atsushi who pointed out that tigers don’t meow, they chuff.

So now Atsushi chuffs like a tiger in my mind.

I am a huge supporter of Atsushi with cat traits but I also think that he shouldn't just mrrph? if someone wakes him up or calls his attention after zoning out for a long time and meow at cats. However he should also have eyes that reflect light giving Kouyka a fucking heart attack when she was using her phone's flashlight to get back to bed and just saw two E Y E S looking at her from in the darkness (he was getting water). On full moons if he doesn't expend a lot of energy, I think that he gets a surge of energy and adrenaline. He's used to spending it locked in a cage so he doesn't know to let out the adrenaline and instead lets it build up until its painful and just deals with it. I have a lot of thoughts about this ok? I will continue

Fanfic idea  - Jealous drunken Chuuya x Drunken cat Atsushi

Prompt: As described Atsushi and Chuuya get drunk and comedy ensues

Actual idea- 

So I’m imagining thats its sometime in the future during a cherry blossom viewing.

Everyone is getting drunk and having a great time but cue Atsushi and Chuuya getting drunk.

Turns out a drunken Atsushi acts really silly, like everyone keeps referring to him as a cat and asks him to bring out his tail and ears. Ya know silly stuff but at some point drunken Atsushi just starts acting like complete cat and starts cuddling up to people he likes. You know partially cause he’s drunk and he’s just instinctually scent marking people like an actual cat. 

This all comes to a point where he starts cuddling up to Dazai which triggers the next event.

Which is a jealous drunken Chuuya.

You know in my head Chuuya already found Atsushi to be really cute at the beginning of the night before the tiger ears and tail came out. 

Atusshi is just adorable and Chuuya immediately wants to get to know him more but denies himself since he doesn’t want Dazai to be an ass about it.

Well a few hours later drunken Chuuya gets jealous that the cute weretiger is cuddling up to Dazai. 

Cause ya know Dazai is the worst and in Chuuya’s mind doesn’t deserve to have an adorable creature cuddling up to him and being affectionate. 

So in his drunken jealous wisdom Chuuya thinks its a great idea to go over there and just grab Atsushi and say that Dazai doesn’t deserve to have a cute cat before walking back over to the port mafia side while a confused but still drunk Atsushi just kinda shrugs and continues to act like a cat. 

Just ya know:

Angry drunken Chuuya (clutching Atsushi like a child would a plush toy): “O-oi this cat is mine now! F-fuck off  you Shitty Mackrel!”

Atsushi (who is now slightly confused but unbothered just makes chuffing sounds before cuddling into this new persons neck and nuzzling their cheek like an overly affectionate cat.) 

It is! The headcanon anon!!! I shall give you four fluffy, somewhat cat!Atsushi headcanons right now to make you smile 💜💜💜 Hopefully these are as cute as I think they are! Regardless of how plausible they may or may not be, though, they do make me smile- Hopefully. They can do that for you, too!

- Much like actual tigers will groom each other and their young, Atsushi will also do this!!! It’s primarily reserved for the baby siblings (IE- Kyōka, Lucy, and Kenji), and it’s done in a more human fashion, but I’ve always imagined that he’ll start idly brushing their hair if it’s messy or it he just doesn’t have anything to do with his hands. He’s surprisingly good at giving them cute hairstyles!!!

- I like to imagine that the ADA has an unspoken rule that you Are Not allowed to move if Atsushi falls asleep on you… Like if someone’s pet falls asleep on your lap, you know?

- He bleps sometimes. I’m sorry, I don’t make the rules. He kitty, he blep.

- Okay so this one might be more funny that fluffy but I feel like the idea of Atsushi chasing a laser pointer is too good to ignore??? Ranpo would absolutely fuck with him using one and it makes me giggle.

Look no I love these and now I'm also stuck thinking about Atsushi being very particular about Dazai's bandages. One starts fraying, they get stained, anything and he's fretting

he also has the deep urge to bat at them all the time and the struggle is so so real
