I thought I would update the list of BDSM links and resources I posted a while ago, as some links were no longer working and I had several new ones to add, including a list of books. These should be particularly helpful to those who are new to BDSM and looking to explore D/s relationships, as the best way to go about that is to first read everything you can and then read even more! Not only will this allow you to educate yourself, help keep you safe and avoid any potential mistakes or regrets, but also the more you understand something, the less intimidating it will seem.

If you have anything to add, please don’t hesitate to let me know and I will update this list, in particular if there any books that a submissive might find helpful or informative, as most of the books I have read or included are intended for Dominants.

Note: For the sake of consistency and readability, I have used capitals throughout this document and have not used lower case when referring to submissives or slaves.

Websites:

Collarme: A free BDSM dating website and community, that is probably the most popular and a better option than the commercial alternatives.

Fetlife: An online BDSM community that I would highly recommend and which is perhaps best described as Facebook for the kinky, allowing users to create a profile, publish photos or writing and join interest groups where you can ask questions.

Kink Academy: An online resource with many educational and instructional videos on various aspects of BDSM, although users must pay a small fee to access all of the content.

For submissives who fear being a "burden".

Note: This post was stimulated by one from @daidi-dragan-glas with a similar theme. It's his pinned post and worth seeing.

I've seen posts by or about submissives who fear "being a burden" to a dominant. Who worry that their submissive needs, their anxiety issues, their self-esteem issues, or whatever, might be "too much" for their dominant.

I've also seen submissives who are struggling with something and keep that from their dominant because they don't want to "burden" him with that.

One way of answering that is to say you aren't a burden. But I'll say it a little differently. You are exactly the burden we want.

I can't speek for all doms and I won't presume to say what a "real" dominant feels, but the kind of dominant I am CRAVES that burden. We crave all the burdens. Whether it's the literal burden like your heavy suitcase or the metaphorical burden of your fears and anxieties, or the burden of planning for our travel together or our joint finances, doing what we are able to do to take on those burdens makes us feel fulfilled.

You know how you feel when you play your submissive role, giving us pleasure, looking up to us, allowing us to lead? Playing your role as a submissive makes you feel complete. Well, for me and other doms like me, taking on those burdens completes us in very much the same way. It's doing what we were meant to do.

too young to be scared of seeing a familiar face on the news because jordan was black and looked older than his actual age and the white middle aged cop shot in “self defense” even though jordan was unarmed and innocent or because elias was muslim and was carrying a “suspiscous” bag and was shot and later died because the police officers thought he was a “terrorist” when elias just wanted to get home to his mom and little sister with a jewelry box to give them, which now sits in peices on the concrete floor

too young to be scared of finding my lgbt friends killled, abandoned, or sent off to a conversion camp because all they wanted was love and acceptance but instead they found hate and rejection because they were “disgusting sinners” who were just “confused” and katy is finally back from camp but she doesn’t even remember my damn name

too young to be sobbing with such lose and grief over people so dear to me who were killed and died too young because no one would help them because all of their cries were “fake” because they were too young to know “real” pain

and dying was never our biggest fear
