2nd day of my anatomy study. I'm starting to get worn out from drawing people and decided that I should focus on something else. Horses seemed like the best fit.
Iron Bull lost his eye while saying trans rights and he’d do it again.
I read about ciénega mermaids today. They live in lil swamp marshes now because as time went on, the ciénegas were left to became small little streams of water. ciénega mermaids are really small, about the size of frogs. They need to be small because ciénegas are small. ciénega mermaids are very rare to find. I was trying to draw one earlier but I had trouble with pain and overstimulation so i stopped.
My ciénega mermaid is a cuatro ciénegas killifish. They are supposedly common in ciénegas. I was going to base the mermaids human half off of indigenous Mexican people. I don't think it's fair to make a mermaids human half a race that is not native to that region. ciénegas are supposedly in Mexico so that is why I said the human half would be based off of the indigenous Mexican people.
I liked drawing the killifish but the mermaid was really hard to draw.
The book I was reading was: A Field Guide to Mermaids by Emily B. Martin.
It's one of my favorite books. I love the art and everything in it.

went to the bookstore yesterday and got some new books. i was mainly looking for books that were easier to understand and relate too. here are the ones i found:
-fish in a tree by Lynda Mullaly Hunt. it's supposedly about a disabled student who has trouble in school
-a storm of strawberries by Jo Cotterill. its about a girl with down syndrome who loves her older sister. but her older sister's friend is sleeping over and all her older sister's attention is on is her friend and its making the main character upset, who just wants to spend time with her. there is also a tornado.
-full cicada moon by Marilyn Hilton. its about a mixed girl who has trouble with the fact that she doesn't physically look like either race she is mixed with. and she wants to be an astronaut.
-what a wonderful phrase by Nicola Edwards and Many Montoya. its about a bunch of different commonly heard phrases from around the world and what they mean. i take things too literally and this explains where the phrase orignated from and what it really means.
-our generation: a fair share at the diner by Erika Nadine White and Geraldine Charette. i like our generation dolls and it felt sad to see this book abandoned at the bookstore and for only $0.25 as well. i figured it would be a good idea to get to know the two characters (who are also physical dolls) from this book.
-the selkie girl by Janis Mackay and Ruchi Mhasane. the title pretty much tells you what its about. its a scottish and irish (but this book in particular is the scottish one) folklore about selkie's.
