I have had good luck dollar stores and thrift stores, finding shiny trinkets and maybe a pretty candle holder or a pretty plate for offerings. Even all of the different candles you can get at Dollar Tree. But they're right too, use whatever you like that you already have at home. I like making crafts and origami. I feel that putting the energy, effort, and time to make something, and I bring that thing into my sacred space, it offers a deeper connection to my craft or practice.
What type of stuff do you put on altars? Budget and household items only please đ
I just want to take a quick second here for all my peeps with Alphabet Soup in their hearts (BIPOC, LGBTQIA, any of the host of acronyms for physical and mental conditions that affect our daily lives, and so on) and anyone else having a hard time with the latest round of US politics bullshit.
My friends, my loves, my darlings. Hold my hand. Squeeze as tight as you need to. (Or we can just sit here together and you can squish this stress ball.) Cry if you need to. Scream if you need to. We'll let it out together, all the anger and fear and worry that's scraping us raw on the inside. It's okay if it's ugly and messy and incoherent and crude. Doesn't matter. Just us here.
I've got a hug if you need one. If you need an encouraging word, I've got lots. And there are thousands of others out there, standing behind you and beside you in spirit. We can't fix everything, but we will do our damndest, bit by bit, to try and make things better.
I want you to promise me that you'll try. Doesn't need to be a lot, doesn't need to be life-altering. Taking care of yourself is enough. Getting through the day is enough. If all you can do is survive, that counts. If you can do more, whether it's standing up or speaking up or helping out in whatever way you can, then you do it with all your heart and know that I'm over here doing the same.
One more big squeeze. And even though it's over a silly post on the internet, I hope you can feel the love and the solidarity that I'm sending your way. I hope it gives you something to hold onto. I hope it lightens your load, even if it's just for a moment.
I want to see you on the other side of this. Doesn't matter how long it takes. I want us to sit together again when things are better, so we can laugh and cry and celebrate. I promise you that I'm going to try. I am living for that day when we don't have to be afraid anymore and I truly hope that you'll be there with me. And if you aren't...or if I'm not...let's both have faith that we tried our hardest and never backed down.
You're here. I'm here. We are HERE.
And despite it all, we persist.
This might sound harsh but if you use AI to read tarot donât consider yourself a tarot reader. Please use your own brain, Itâs gotten alarmingly bad how yâall use robots for everything. The basis of tarot is to use your own intuition and understanding of the cards. The cards meanings also vary from reader to reader. Itâs borderline pathetic to ask artificial intelligence what the spread you just pulled means and write down the exact answer it gives you for pacs on tumblr or wherever else because you canât figure it out yourself. Iâm sorry, but Itâs embarrassing. Thereâs so many possibilities and so many messages to interpret when you read that a robot cannot catch. Thatâs the beauty in tarot!! You clearly donât care for it if you use AI, if youâre gonna use it regardless at least be honest about it and donât pretend you interpreted that by yourself. Itâs ridiculous.

bring back tumblr ask culture let me. bother you with questions and statements
I was once reading a post about clairaudience and it absolutely changed my perspective early on about thinking I was making up hearing our gods. It went along the lines of how it feels to have a conversation with yourself in your head. Answering your own sentences and questions. But then comparing it to the feeling of having something or someone else answer your question. Changed my way of thinking completely. As well as Helios once or twice going âmake me talk.â
I tried. It felt really strange, unnatural and awkward. Then he actually answered me.
I trusted myself a lot more from then on.
I donât talk to other people with clairaudience so Iâm unsure how it works for others, but for me, it was a gradual thing and by the time I realized I did have highly developed psychic senses, for a good minute I was under the impression I had some level of psychosis lol.
At first it was just singular words, then tiny phrases, and then I could have closer to full on conversations. I still have some days where itâs âoffâ and I donât get anything. But on most Iâm able to fully tune in, focus on a god or entityâs energy and what theyâre trying to tell me. Giving channeled messages has been so fucking rewarding, especially when I think about how all this started for me.
When Lord Hermes encouraged me to start giving readings and messages I was unsure if I'd do well. But after doing this for a few weeks I know this is what I was meant to do. This is my path. I love it so much and I thank the gods everyday (and then some) for working with me in this way and how much theyâve encouraged me in my life.
Sensing someone in my room is enough, to be honest. Since Iâll head over to my decks immediately to see whatâs up. And sometimes while Iâm pulling Iâll get phrases, songs, and full sentences. But I donât need it anymore, not always. Itâs good for clarity, though.
I have lots of funny stories from a few months ago of some gods finding it quite funny that I was in such disbelief about my abilities. I doubted myself a LOT, so much. I constantly prayed to Dionysus for help on quieting my mind. That ended in many conversations about differing the voices of gods to voices that may genuinely come from my head.
And this is just about clairaudience, not any of the other senses Iâve developed that have absolutely spooked the hell out of me. Smelling things, seeings our gods in my minds eye, tastes that are usually unpleasant, and touches that feel like rubbing your socks on a carpet and then touching a doorknob â ď¸
Itâs opened me up to an entire world I canât wait to indulge myself in and explore. And I canât wait to be able to help others do the same too. I hope I can find friends that are like me sometime soon. I know theyâre around here somewhere. đŠś
May the gods bless all who stumble upon this and feel a little seen. đ
I miss the good old days of witchblr. Does anybody else remember like we could read whatever we wanted, and we could post about it? And sure, there were people that didn't care of the book or topic. The difference between then and now is that it was a discussion and not a beat down session. And then, people were kind enough to offer other book titles!
Also, we had a clear set of guidelines referring to cultural appropriation, and words or phrases that were frowned upon. Other then that, you want to be a Death Witch, go for it. A Sea Witch, have at it. A Storm Witch, power to ya. The lists goes on. Then, if we were curious about there practice we would ask genuine questions! If the practitioner maybe did something that maybe you didn't like or thought was borderline on the no no list, again you didn't beat them down, it was a discussion.
The ones that couldn't handle having a informal discussion were simply blocked and their comments were deleted. Or in some cases, the post was deleted, which was pretty common, and occasionally remade.
Also, side tangent, we liked the titles of the different witch types, because it was our niche and it was organized. Sure, you don't have to have a title or a certain practice, that's fine. As for me, I like having a title or a type because it keeps me focused on what I want to achieve. Plus, having a title made the witchblr tags so much easier to navigate.
