The thing is, I could read a thousand Hale Pack fics featuring Sterek, Pack Mom Stiles, Jackson never leaving and Boyd and Erica living. A thousand variants of that, inject it into my veins.

See, Theo does this sometimes. Plays the charade of caring too well. Makes Liam think he might be able to talk about this broken glass thing that is sparkling between them, making him bleed. But Liam knows from experience that he doesn’t. Care, that is. Theo puts on the illusion of a human face and Liam falls for it over and over again. Wants to stop. Looks in Theo’s blue-green sad-happy sincere-lying eyes and his heart fumbles.

Here sits a boy who you think you want to fix. Serve recovery for him on a silver platter. He melts it into a dagger. Here sits a boy who will drag you down with him, barbed claws in flesh as he free falls into oblivion. Or maybe here is a boy that you will latch on to, think: if I can not fix you, I will break myself on you. At least then we will be broken together. Or you think, until you become familiar with the back of him.

Liam shrugs, thinks of rain.

been thinking about fantasy/scifi rule systems and free will

aussie academia

aussie academia is writing your essay the night before, sitting in your wet swimmers, an ice cold bottle of cheap wine sweating onto the table beside you, your legs sticking to the seat, your hair still dripping water down your back.

it’s the taste of salt water in your mouth, the smell of the day’s sunscreen, and more ink on your fingers than the page. 

it’s seeking refuge from the heat by studying in the cool, white, science lab during your lunch. it’s drawing all the blinds to keep the sun out and having to write your flashcards in the dark. it’s bare feet in the library.

it’s biting into a slice of watermelon, the juice dripping down your chin and staining your notes pink. it’s keeping gold coins in your bra to buy a one dollar ice cream from the servo on your study break. it’s memorising content until the sun goes down at ten pm, and then using the warm light of the sunset to study until midnight. 

it’s flipping flashcards with your best friend on the front porch, having to raise your voice over the evening cicadas. it’s opening your notebook to find sand in the spine. it’s using flat shells as bookmarks and coconut scented candles everywhere. it’s the smell of citronella and cigarettes on the south lawn, giggles in the air after exams.
