Baby! Harry Headcanons

He arrived after a very long and very painful labour for Lily. James was freaking out outside the delivery room.

He was already asleep when James held him for the first time, but the moment he opened his eyes, James never wanted him to close them again.

Sirius was afraid of holding the baby. "What if I drop him on his head, Moony?" He avoided doing that for a long time.

But one day James was out buying groceries and Lily was asleep, and Sirius was alone with baby Harry in his crib, and Harry started crying. Sirius tried to quiet him down without having to pick him up, but nothing worked. Finally, Sirius had to pick him up and Harry fell asleep immediately. After that Sirius always wanted to pick Harry up.

Harry loved playing with Sirius's hair. The only other person allowed to touch his hair was Moony.

Remus was always gentle with Harry. Seeing him after a particularly bad moon calmed him down. Harry would reach up and touch the scars on Remus's face with curious eyes, and Remus would somehow not feel self conscious about them. The only other person to touch his scars was Padfoot.

Harry loved to crawl after Peter in his animagus form, but one day, he caught Peter and picked him by his tail. Peter never transformed to play with Harry again.

Molly came over one day with Baby Ron and him and Harry became instant one year old best friends. Ron cried when the time came for him to go home.

The cat absolutely loved Harry, and would even let him play with it's tail. James freaked out when he first saw Harry with the cat's tail in his hand, fearing that the cat will claw him like it does to others, but was surprised to see that the cat was just calmly laying down doing nothing.

Harry pulled Dumbledore's beard when he came to visit. It may or may not have been the first time James and Lily ever heard McGonagall laugh.
