‘Darling Angel, I wait so long, it seems - forever when I have a letter from you. Are you so sad, are you a little bit angry, have you angst?? This letter is my fourth (4). Today is Saturday. I left Hamburg 4 days ago. Now I miss you more than before. I wish so much that we had our little room with the little black cushions and the records and all. On Monday I go to see about a job as a teacher, when I get a job then I will look for a flat for us. Darling, I love you, write many letters and tell me you love me, tell me you will be my wife and love me forever. I love you so much, so much. 

Stuart loves Astrid forever.’

‘John fascinated me the most because he exuded rocker,’ says Jürgen [Vollmer]. ‘I was a little disappointed when later I got to know him because he was a softie, but he carried off the rocker image perfectly. At the time, though, I never felt comfortable in his presence.’
